Aug 18, 2010I was wondering how I would go about changing a users password in ASPNETDB? There are some stored procedure I've been playing around with such as dbo.aspnet_Membership_setpassword and resetpassword but I've managed to corrupt the login password for my user as now I cannot login anymore (gives wrong username or password message in my webform login screen).Any ideas how I can successfully change my password from the ASPNETDB / stored procedure ?

We needed to move it to anotherserver, after we moved that, the membership database (aspnetdb) did not work.....finally i solved the problem, and now I have another problem. although in the web.config enablepasswordretrieval is set to true, and the type is clear, i get error in password retrieval.

Dec 19, 2010I have developed a Silverlight app using forms authentication and the asp net membership, aspnetdb, the whole enchilada.The bug I see is that the password for my users change by them self every bow and then, the way I fix them is by deleting the user and creating them again, this has been I problem all the time.In a post I read the problem was manifesting because I didn't have a machineKey in my web.config, I now do, so I dunno what the problem is this time...Is there a definitive fix to this? can you please provide assistance?

Oct 2, 2010I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express.
I did this simple test:
I created a new Web project with a simple page that has a Log In. There were no databases in App_Data.
I used the configuration tool to create a Role and User.
I refreshed the project folder and behold AspNetDB.mdf has appeared in the App_Data folder.
I have checked the Web.Config file and there is NO Connection string to this database.
So how do I move the Roles/Users application data storage away from AspNetDB.mdf to my own database ?

Aug 18, 2010I am developing a shopping cart with asp.net and sqlexpress. I am using aspnet authentication components to create a backend page. I designed the site to let in only authorized users in.
Yesterday, I forget my password to login to backend and asked system recover my password. with recover password of the asp.net I was able to receive the temp password. I took that and logged in, of course asp.net forward me to password change component which I am having problem with.
Every time I change my password , password change shows that I was successfull but after clicking on the continiue button password change component comes back. I went to properties of password change component and entered the main default page as destination but it is not helping.
I close the IE clear the cache , even restart the machine. When I login always taking me to the password change page.

So if I make a "companyID" int, identity column where would I put it?

Sep 15, 2010 if there is any easier way to synchronize the TypedDataSets with the chages made to backend Table / Stored Procedure schema. I use Typed DataSets in my project extensively and I found them very useful and easier to code, but difficult to maintain
The difficuly I have always faced is whenever there is a change in a backend database table structure or stored procedure that is linked to any of the Typed DataSet in our project requires to recreate whole DataSet again by scrapping the old one. The backend changes will not be reflected unless and untill you recreate the whole stuff again.
Is there any easier way to synchronize those typed datasets with the changes made to backend database schema or any other workaround that will not required to recreate the whole DataSet again.

Now I am trying to call that stored procedure in the newuserwizard code and I it is not recognizing the stored procedure. I know it is because my dataset is not referenced in the newuserwizard code. Jul 9, 2010I have one repeater on page which has his own sql data source. I've placed 2 dropdown lists on the page. The repeater has jQuery DataTable plugin. With 2 dropdownlist I wish to change the sql stored procedures so when each will be selected the data in repeater will change. When user select the first there will be only data (users) according to selected item and in the second the same. I wrote 2 simple functions for changing stored procedure of repeater and rebiding it. Everything works but when I try the second one and then the first I always get warning about error "Procedure or function .... has too many arguments specified".
I think that when I select the first one the second function is still called although I don't call it.
