We have used captcha and email verification in the past to ward off bots, but is there another way without using those techniques? I thought about encrypting the field ID names so that they aren't names username, password, etc. we tried openID, but 1% of our users had an ID they could use.

Now the problem is:
As this is registration form, I want server side validation of existing email id .If user entered email id already exist in DB I want to reopen the above modal dialog (automatically) with an error massage Email ID already exist.
I m not able to reopen that dialog box.

Jun 13, 2012The captcha is working fine..but when we reload the page and click the verify button without entering enything..it's throwing error. Also it's throwing the error when we enter the code wrong 2 times..It's throwing the error as

For example, take a look at this website, this registration page has a lot more fields for users to enter information: [URL] This regirtaion page has the information for Street Address, Suburb, Gender, DOB and lot more. How do I add these fields into my registration page. I have heard of something called profile. When I changed the Address text box to Multiline, that too has moved to the right. The Css Class for all textboxes are 'textentry'.
I would also like to know how to classify the Registration form into two, as there are Students and Teachers. What would be the best design?

The following is what I want to achieve:i) User enters their Username etc in CreateUserwizard and clicks the CreateUser Button(ii) After clicking the CreateUser button, user sees the Captcha.aspx page and enters the correct stuff in the Captcha box and click a continue button(iii) User account is created if correct details were entered in the Captcha else no account is created, rather the user is sent to a page informing him or her that no account has been created
