I have an web application that encrypts data using a public and sent it to another web application. Which will then decrypt the data using a the user private key. My question is, since but the Private and Public key are generated in the first application. how does the other application get the private?

My site is 100% private (only public facing page is login) I've had the need to open up a page to anon via the <location> node in the web config...and that all seems to work However the issue now appears to be that dynamic resources such as the Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd and imagesjavascript changed via handlers dont load. A firebug of the situation shows that for those dynamic elements, it's trying to re-direct to login to get them Is there anyway around this?

I have some problem about keeping "Generated Public and Private Asymmetric Keys" in web.config.
At first, I generate key from external application, the result keys are in the xml files named "PublicKey.xml" and "PrivateKey.xml".
Key example,
<RSAKeyValue><Modulus>xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</Modulus><Exponent>AQAB</Exponent><P>3lJSXraj/fffffffffffffffff</P><Q>th/FSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS</Q><DP>FFFFFFFFFFFF</DP><DQ>A0SfrELG91Fz8/LmcqwlZRu7a7ZVldC1fAtsK+6M6aQ3d4dBp5coDP6wz5ah2dFrbinpVZjSjLmLXYSmTK2aYQ==</DQ>
[code]....
I want to keep above generated key in the web.config for using the other thing.
How can I keep "Generated Public and Private Asymmetric Keys" in web.config?

I have searched high and low (and very possibly could have missed it), but in my years of programming, I have always come across one practice that seemed to be the standard in OOP, which is to use private properties in an object with public methods to manipulate the data.
However, the more I delve into ASP.NET (specifically with MVC), the more public properties I see inside of classes (specifically models) such as the ones shown at Scottgu's blog discussing the Entity Framework.
Does it have something to do with the way that LINQ populates a class?

I have like 10 private members in my class, and I was hoping vs.net could create public properties from them but can't seem to find that option in VS.NET 2008.
Is there a feature for this?

Be built an MVC application. Some of the pages require being under SSL encryption. Means the whole site need to be broken down to sections (http and https)The immediate solution that comes to my mind is creating two IIS sites (port 80 and 443) and break the application to two sites (public-http and private-https). Since the site is complex, breaking it into two applications will be huge work.What is the easiest way of doing this?Is there any link or article that explains the best practices doing this?

While developing and ASP.NET application in C# or VB using Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010 (Not a problem in 2003), if I create a new method automatically by double-clicking on a control in the designer or picking the new method in the code editor dropdowns (VB only), the access modifier is always protected instead of private. This is annoying because my developers have to manually change the method to private every time.

I am trying to use a second (custom) table to extend my users profile info. This table is in the same database as the 'aspnet_Users' table but has a different name. I create a FK relationship between the 'aspnet_Users' table and my custom table. Here is my web.config code:
<profile defaultProvider="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider">
<providers>
<clear />
<add name="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider"
type="System.Web.Profile.SqlProfileProvider"
connectionStringName="ConString_SQLConnectionString"
applicationName="/" />
<add name="MyCustomProfile"
type="System.Web.Profile.SqlProfileProvider"
connectionStringName="ConString_SQLConnectionString"
applicationName="/"
table="MyProfileTable_Employees" />
</providers>
<properties>
<group name ="MyProfileInfo">
<add name="FirstName" type="string" defaultValue="[null]" customProviderData="FirstName;nvarchar" provider="MyCustomProfile" />
<add name="LastName" type="string" defaultValue="[null]" customProviderData="LastName;nvarchar" provider="MyCustomProfile" />
<add name="EmployeeNumber" type="int" defaultValue="[null]" customProviderData="EmployeeNumber;int" provider="MyCustomProfile" />
</group>
</properties>
</profile>
I have the table "MyProfileTable_Employees" poplulated with data the 'userid' matches to the aspnet_Users table. In my web application (vb), when I type in Profile.MyProfileInfo, there are no custom fields. Actually, when I type profile., there are no profile related entries. What am I missing here? Am I miss-interpting what a custom profile provider is?

Writing a custom membership / role provider and have to validate user with extra parameter to Membership.Validate. So, instead of Membership.Validate(username, password) I need Membership.Validate(username, password, client).
Is this possible with the existing MembershipProvider? I would have liked to pass a new MembershipUser to the Validate method but didn't see anything that would work for that.

Every time I edit a resource file in VS, it regenerates the corresponding code and sets the class access modifier to internal.It's a pain to Ctrl-F -> ReplaceAll every time I edit the resx. Is there a property/setting so that I can default this to public?
internal class MyResource {
internal static global::System.Resources.ResourceManager ResourceManager {...}
}
I need all those internal to be public all the time.

I have a problem to pass along public variables from C# code to the HTML code. I assign the variables in the Page_Load event and then pass along them to the Panel and Image control in the HTML code. Though I get this compileerror for the Width: "Cannot create an object of type "System.Web.UI.EbControls.Unit" from its string representation '<%setWidthImage%>' for the 'Width' property."

In my example below I am trying to Bind 2 different size GoogleAds to the 2 first rows in the GridView. One Ad on each row. The ads that are inside.......
(i2 == 0) and(i2 == 1).
I need to use <%if (Counts < 2) %> in HTML to restrict it to just 2 Rows, so this variable needs to be passed correctly also. As it is now, Counts is not passed correctly so <%if (Counts < 5) %> needs to be set in order to see any ads at all. I beleive this is because Page.DataBind() is binding the last ad in memory from the loop.
So when running this code, the same ad (i2== 2) is set to 3 rows in the GridView. This is my problem!

I have a gridview that is dynamically created and have finished all but one problem - I need for my code that is within a Public Shared Function to access a textbox string - In the below I need myinput to return the string so that my query's can use the variable - the below shows: Cannot refer to an instance member of a class from within a shared method or shared member initializer without an explicit instance of the class.
If I remove the "Shared" the error goes away however it crashes other parts. (if I hard code the text then all works as expected)

I have created a custom control and I intended to assign some attributes which is not necessary to implament.
I also assign default value for them but I am getting System.NullReferenceException error.
Here is my CC's attibute code;
public class ApplicationModule2010 : CompositeControl
{
[DefaultValue(true)]
public bool AppFormOnLine { get { return (bool)ViewState["AppFormOnLine"]; } set { ViewState["AppFormOnLine"] = value; } }
...
also ı have written the below code for another attribute but its default value doesn't work as well;
[DefaultValue("Application is Offline ! Define an offline Text insted of this text !<br/><br/>TugberkUgurlu.Com")]
public string OfflineText { get { return (string)ViewState["OfflineText"]; } set { ViewState["OfflineText"] = value; } }
What am I missing here ?

I am trying to secure very mixed content that is located in an ASP.NET directory. For purposes of this question, it can be ~/MyApp/.
I want all of the content in the directory and its subdirectories restricted to authenticated users. The default.aspx page, though, should be accessible to everyone. This is the web.config in that directory:
[Code]....
Now if you are an unauthenticated user, everything works fine if you request [code]....
The problem occurs in that visitors do not always request "Default.aspx". We have a default document configured so that they get Default.aspx even if they just request "/MyApp". An authenticated user works fine, but an unauthenticated user is directed to the login page.
Now I know that essentially this happens because even though the request for "/MyApp/" will actually end up serving up "/MyApp/Default.aspx", the security system is only checking for "/MyApp/" since that is what I requested. That is then getting the default security for the directory.
How can you configure an exception to allow access when no particular file is requested in the directory??
Is there some dependency between DefaultDocumentModule and UrlAuthorizationModule? In this environment, the UrlAuthorizationModule has been removed and re-added in order to make sure it fires for non-managed requests. I would not expect that to change the order of execution, though, since UrlAuthorizationModule usually goes after DefaultDocument.
A workaround could be to set up the opposite security with the directory being open, and then trying to secure individual files. Because of the (changing) number of files, and extensions, etc, and the fact that you cannot use wildcards in a <location>, this is not really a workable solution for me.
