i'm looking to implement a live helpdesk (chat) feature to an ASP website, something similar to LivePerson.
Would anyone be able to direct me towards firstly the required achitecture to help me understand what will be required to even develop such a feture and if at all possible some example code/solutions, if any exist ??
Live Chat is a very famous tool on websites, and the operators use a special web/windows interface to talk to the clients. What I want to implement is to specify some email accounts, and when the client click's the live chat and starts typing, his/her instant messages are delivered to the available email account. My operators can talk back to them as if they are on their friends list.I don't need to require any login or registration for clients to use this Live Chat.So are there any ideas about how to implement such a thing? Are there any good third-party-modules that already do that?
Building a website using ASP.NET membership(forms authentication) and options to link Open IDs to it. I would like to have Microsoft Live as an OpenID option in this website. Well I have not seen Login using Windows Live ID except at forums.asp.net, but then both are Microsoft websites.
Today, I stumbled upon a website that seems to be using Microsoft Live Connect or whatever. I tried searching for it but I couldn't get any documentation regarding an API for Live Connect.
Here's the URL: http://messengerconnectidentity.mslivelabs.com/
I know its a common question. But I want to share something. Actually I am working on e-commerce portal. It consists of 32000 products with around 2500 categories. I used 3-tier architechture for this project.Everyting is coming using stored procedures. I used master pages as well. But still I am fighting with the performance issue. Can anyone pls tell me some usefull steps to increase the speed of the website. Its taking ages to load the pages. please look at the site
So I am trying to create and application that combines a website to a chat program.
Essentially what I want is this
Users to be able to go to the website and look at data
if they want to add data they can do that on the website
based on this data, a message pops up on the appropriate agents PC
the agent can then forward the request or accept the request and type in a message/data in that same pop up window and send it to the website which would update the website.
I have too many options to choose from and I am very confused.I believe for the agent side(chat) WCF would be good, but not sure about the website side.Should i use dynamic data webpage orwcf data services?
I'm developing chat application on asp.net mvc, in my app, user can create room and invite other join to chat, but don't need to save chat room information. So, I designed to save all chat message ,room information and user info in Session and clear it when owner close the room.I'm worry about stressing server when I save alot of data (include room info, user info, and message) in Session if there are up to 5000 rooms created and alot of messages transfered in that room.Is my solution good enough ? is it ok to save in Session ?
I have a large .NET based system running within the company intranet, which allows winforms users to see some live calculated numbers and a custom winforms control drawn live (but not real-time). The Forms users can also affect the operation of the system.
I would like to just show the live numbers on a website, along with the custom control. Nothing needs to come back from the web user, as the web app is meant to be just for monitoring. All the numbers can be calculated at the server. It's been a long time since I touched ASP.NET, and I need to know how to proceed. What are the steps in building and deploying such a website? Any caveats I need to look out for?
how to create user logins using SQL database and I have a project in mind. ASP.NET is new to me and I utilize C# as my programming language of choice. What I would like to do is create a login page for users and allow them to upload video and pictures to their profile. Also, I would like to have my own admin login to edit the main content for my website. Is there a tutorial that I can use to learn this skill?
I was working on some website in ASP.NET 3.5 on VS 2010. Though, some of the work is left, I intend to make it live. I have a domain and a host. But are there any chnages to be done in web.config etc before uploading? or how does this process work?
