I am wanting to concenate a string inserting a quote. How do I do that? i.e. label.text = "quotation mark" & "new" & " " & "name" I want to be able to see "new name" in the end with the actual quotation marks.
I need to insert 5'5 in the height column but access db does not allow it. How can I be albe to insert this data with a quotation mark in the database.
I know that it is basic questions, but I am stuck here.
I have TableOne have fields: USERNAME, PID, GID, TID, SID, NEWSID. I need to write query string to check if those value is already in the table. If not, insert those value to the table.
I have a weird thing happening. I have two identical databases installed on one virtual machine but under two different instances of SQLServer. For some reason, periodically when saving from one it will save to the other instead. Using debug, I have verified that the connection string is correct and when the item saves, it still saves to the wrong database.I use session variable, and am of the belief that it might have something to do with it...and t hat when I go from one to the other it is still getting the connection string form the other for some reason. To make sure that it isn't a problem, I make sure that I completely close out one database before opening the other in a new IE window.I assume that when I completely close out an internet explorer window that it abandons all session states. Is that true?
Is there a command to retrieve the whole string after the question mark (?) in a URL?
For instance, if I have www.joesmith.com/Test.aspx?price=10.00&name=bob&zip=38924, I want to be able to get the part of the string that says, price=10.00&name=bob&zip=38924

I have a quite baffling problem. I've created a Table adapter with 3 queries. 1. GetMemberData() - Return ALL rows. 2. SearchMembersLastName(@q) - Return specified columns from rows that have a column starting with a specified letter. 3. GetMemberDataById(@id) - Return all rows matching a specified ID.
The Problem is that SearchMembersLastName(@q) is returning ALL coloumns instead of just the ones I want. Here's the query that's in the Table Adapter:
[Code]....
The problem is that it is acting like: [Code]....
Here's the code that's calling it: [Code]....
I just can't figure out why this is happening, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I took over some old php application with MySQL as database. Inside the database, there are tables including content with localized strings (therefore containing special chars)Currently there is a PHP application accessing that database. My job is to create an ASP.net (C# codebehind) application that accesses that strings as well. That works, as far as encoding goes.If I try to access these strings, I do get a kind of encoding problem, like 'Ändern' and 'Prüfzeichen', but only in the ASP.net application. The PHP app sets utf-8 as charset and the strings are perfectly rendered. In the ASP.net application it's gibberish, regardless of the page encoding. In the MySQL database, the charset for the specified table 'translations' is set to 'latin --cp1252 West European' and collation to 'latin_swedish_ci'.I can't seem to figure out what PHP apparently does, and ASP.net does not. I traced the php code and could not find any sign of special encoding while getting a string from the database. The question is, how can I ensure correct encoding inside the ASP.net application without modifying the database, because big changes at the php code are not possible?
I do need a working ASP.NET C# code to replace characters in a string.
My following code works fine but in case of input "a" it gives me an output as "678d", but in case of input "c" the output is correct as it is i.e. "8d"... Here it automatically replaces the rest values too. I can see the code is executing in a step by step process... This results me to get an overloaded output.
am working on a application, there i need to find that whether there are any Unicode character in a string or not, I have to check a string for Unicode character but i don't know how to find out Unicode character from any string.
