Updating The Datalist In A RadComboBox?

I'm just struggling with a lot of little things in the web app so I'm checking up with all kinds of stuff to make sure i'm not breaking it cause of stupid problems.At some point in my web app (trying to keep it mostly Asynchronous) I have to update the list in my RadComboBox because something was added. Do I just need to call RadComboBox.DataBind() again? Since I don't explicitly use its datasource(I do it in the manual insert using a string fashion) object to insert my new record do I need to tell that to update? The list just doesn't seem to update when i just call databind so I feel like i need to have the datasource recheck for entries or SOMETHING

Data entered in textboxes is not getting updated in database. In debug mode I see that text1 and text2 in ItemUpdating event contain the same values as they had before calling ItemUpdating.
Here's my listview control:

I have a requirements ,in that i am using nested datalists. here the problem is i am try to updating inner datalist,but i am unable to edit the inner datalist .In the child item child datalist is not appearing?

I have a DataList that on Update calls a function "DataList1_UpdateCommand" to update the data
OnUpdateCommand="DataList1_UpdateCommand"
It does not actually update the new value typed in. I placed a debug on the line below, but the text in the "FieldBalance" displays the original value and not the updated value, but the web pages does display what I typed in and not the original.
Dim FieldBalance As TextBox = CType(e.Item.FindControl("txtBalance"), TextBox)

i'd like to have a datalist displaying which friends a user has that are "online now" or at least "were online within the last 5 minutes"
assume i have a database of user profiles, and another of friends, and i can succesfully get a list of the user's friends into the datalist already. i also have a "lastlogin" datevar that i can easily pull that'll tell me the last time this user was logged in.
i want this datalist to auto-update without the user having to do it, or notice, unless online users change. it shouldn't refresh the entire page or anything, i want to tuck it away in a corner for the user to check on while his browser sits on the page if he wants.
i have no experiencing setting up any kind of automated or timed interval process for my .net c# site, and i'm generally a novice so please be gentle. where do i start this?

So I've been moving a lot of stuff into a webservice because it makes the whole thing make more sense to me personally. Also makes AJAX easier for me. Right now the user will say they want to save a new contact somewhere then, through the webservice, they are added to a database and that call returns the new primary key so that I can change the RadComboBox automatically to this new record. However I can't seem to find a way to re-bind the combo box to the database so that I can correctly set the selected value. Does anyone have any good advice on how to do this? Should I not even be using the RadCombobox? (preferably like an answer as the whole things stands but I welcome some good alternatives to the combobox)

Is there anything about my code below that would prevent the client event "OnClientItemsRequested" from firing? I have a couple RadComboBox elements on a page that sometimes get into a state where they load nothing and don't fire the "OnClientItemsRequested" event. Is there anything I could do to FORCE this event to fire?

I would like to bind 'Id', 'Name' and 'Email' from DataTable to RadComboBox. It's possible with ItemTemplate. But I don't want to display 'Email' column in the RadComboBox. I want display 'Email' in the label when the selectedIndexChanged. Is this possible?

For some reason my RadComboBox "EmptyMessage" is not showing on the initial load of the page but it does after I focus and blur out of the control. How can I force my "EmptyMessage" to show by default?
My .aspx is as follows:

I use a RadComboBox And use the code exactly as same as mentioned at the site

However i am able to populate the values the first time the page is loaded but when i type in text it does not refine .Am i missing out on something ?

So I sometimes use app_offline.htm to take an app offline while I upload a new version.However, while I am in the process of uploading larger dll's, I get the yellow error-screen saying the dll could not be loaded.This seems to be out of sync with my expectations of what app_offline.htm does (stops the app entirely), and also provides the users with errors in stead of the nice app_offline.htm I put up.Am I doing something wrong or is this behavior by design?

Here is my code through which i can generate dynamically 2 checkbox group

There is two checkbox group which have same datasource, so in both case same checkbox are showing and also same event is firing for both. Here is the event code

Am building a Form for out intranet that runs on ASP.NET and C#, it is to be a survey from a SQL database. I have the connections setup can pull informations/Questions from the database. I am having a problem with setting up radio buttons within a datalist, ive never done this and i know they require unque names.
It is to be 4 radio buttons per question where only one can be select, i know how to group just not via a datalist with unique names

i have a datalist . that is contains 7 columns in repeat layout .when i have more from 7 columns , datalist style is normal .but when i have smaller than 7 columns ! data list style is not normal,
because there are some empty columns without specific schema.
How i can make a datalist > when i have 1 columns in my datalist my first layout width be 100% ;
and dont show some empty layout ?
