I used Membership provider in my application. when i am creating new user by filling the details and adding role after the submit button it force the current user to logout and re-login using the current user which I created.Â
Like as a admin I created the user irshad, it admin to logout and again re-logged in with the current user irshad.

What if, I'm not using the LOGIN CONTROL but rather creating a Custom Control for Login. Is it possible to have user roles and a site map that redirects to its own destination when the user login?

Let's say I have a rolegroup as follows:
<asp:LoginView ID="lvDoSomeStuff" runat="server">
<RoleGroups>
<asp:RoleGroup Roles="RoleOne,RoleTwo">
<ContentTemplate>
...
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:RoleGroup>
</RoleGroups>
</asp:LoginView>
Is there a way I can make it so that a user must meet RoleOne and RoleTwo to satisfy the RoleGroup? By default, if a user is in either of the two roles, they will be granted access. I know I can do this via the code-behind, but I'd prefer to be able to wrap some content template with this markup instead of having to wrap it in a panel and hide the panel programmatically.

I want to add a new rule in my web.config file programmatically,
ex: I have a textbox to add location path I have a combobox (with items admin and user) to add roles. ex: user input location path = textbox roles = combobox (items admin and user) the save button, when click the save button the results go to the web config :
<location path="Report/ManageReport.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow roles="ADMIN" />
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
So far my code as below: but I was confused to apply its
protected void AddRoleRule(string location, string selectedrole)
{
Configuration config = WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration(Server.MapPath("~/Web.config"));
XmlDocument xDoc = new XmlDocument();
xDoc.Load(config.FilePath);
//if the rule exists update the rule

The default built-in user registration form that we have in the Asp.Net Membership is that there are only fields for:
UserNamePasswordConfirm PasswordEmailSecret QuestionSecret Answer
And we have seen all these in a user registration form. But what if I want to add more fields to it. For example, take a look at this website, this registration page has a lot more fields for users to enter information: [URL] This regirtaion page has the information for Street Address, Suburb, Gender, DOB and lot more. How do I add these fields into my registration page. I have heard of something called profile. But how do I intergrate profile into this, if this is what we use to add more fields to user registraiton page. share a sample working code of user registrtion page with more fields.

I want to enable newly registered users on a site. I have figured out to put "DisableCreatedUser="True"" on the CreateUserWizard. What I have no idea about is how to have an email sent to the administrators email to notify them that a new user has registered.

We have a big portal that needs user registration to allow them use its services. It's already done in .NET and SOL Server 2005. we are in the phase now of discovering all the problems of the current registration system to build a new robust flexible one that can be extended easily and can be more usable for all services.

I'm building an ASP.NET MVC 2 site, where I want to have users verify their email address after they register.
I want to send an email to the address with a link that the user can click to verify their email, and then handle the clicking of that link (the link will contain a specific id, of course).
Of course, this is easy to manually implement, but is there anything already built in to ASP.NET that has such a function?

I want to create a simple user registration form with First / Last name, email, and password. We have used captcha and email verification in the past to ward off bots, but is there another way without using those techniques? I thought about encrypting the field ID names so that they aren't names username, password, etc. we tried openID, but 1% of our users had an ID they could use.

I have read many posts and have tried many solutions to this problem.
Simply enough, I can assign a role to a user programically during development, but when I publish to the 'web', the system doesn’t work. I am useing VWD 2008 in VB.Net.
I have been using permutations of : Roles.AddUserToRole("User.Name", "User").
Roles work throughout the site (per page/directory). Is there something I am missing?
