I am building an email feature in my website (jobs site). By using this functionality, recruiters will be able to send emails to candidates. I want an option so that the user can also set 'From Address' and the email should be ANTI-SPAM compliant.
I have a data list on my page which shows a clients company, address and contact info. This information is stored in a sql database table. one of the columns is email address
Also on the page is a button and textbox set to multimode where the logged on client can send a message.
In the the button click event I want to send the message but capture the email address from the "Email" column and add this to the from part of the mail message as below
[Code]....
I just want to get the email address this way or get it from the membership system which ever is better.
How to retrieve the current authenticated logged in user's email address who is accessing the page.
I have managed to do it with users. How to get the current authenticated user's email address if that makes sense.
Here is my aspx code:
[Code]....
and my VB script:
[Code]....
Somebody suggested that I should run a query. If you know the user name accessing the page, surely you can take that information, insert it into a query to find out the email address of the user accessing the page. Sounds great but don't have a clue how to do it.
I'm writing applications on Facebook located on an external website ASP.NET C #. The application should check whether or not a person likes my Fan Page (page) on Facebook, and if he or she doesn’t like it needs to like it before using this application. How this can be done using the Graph API and ASPSnippets Facebook API.
I'm building an ASP.NET MVC 2 site, where I want to have users verify their email address after they register.
I want to send an email to the address with a link that the user can click to verify their email, and then handle the clicking of that link (the link will contain a specific id, of course).
Of course, this is easy to manually implement, but is there anything already built in to ASP.NET that has such a function?
I am using an email address as my "username" for Login. When a user logs in the User object that is created has the Email address as the name which is incorrect. The actual name is another field in the DB. How do I login and authenticate against the email address and then load the correct name in the User object?
I am using forms authentication with a custom MembershipProvider and RoleProvider.
Edits Below to Clarify
I have a custom MembershipProvider that validates users by email address and password. It is called by the basic Login Control and registered in web.config.
Is it possible to use the PasswordRecovery control to recover a password using the email address instead of the user name?
Ideally I'd like to have the PasswordRecovery control allow users to enter their email address instead of their user name and then proceed to answer the security question.
I'm using Facebook connect on my site. If a new user connects through FB i create an account for them and all is fine. What i would also like to do is check to see if they already have a registered account.
So if someone connects that has not logged in but has an account i would like to be able to locate the account in my application a link it. I hoping this could be done via the email address?
I was wondering if someone can direct me to a good quality tutorial on the process of registering and sending an activation link to the user's email address. I can't seem to find any useful tutorials online!
Into below code which is working fine, but the last section which started from using (SqlCommand SendMailcmd ... update it as i want when the user click on the button the code take the AdsID and (QAdsEmail "the user email") and send an e-mail to user depending on QAdsEmail and inside the email create a link to URL... so the user when he receive the mail he can click on it and move to the page to edit his Ad info ...
The table where below info will store in is called "ads" and the column that's need for sending email with ad info/the E-mail part of the code below i just copy it from another part of my application ...
In this example ... Im getting error once im logged in no issue ... after that i tryed another login id the previous id details shown in that Lable ...
The exact place for that error ...
FaceBookConnect.API_Key = "app key"; FaceBookConnect.API_Secret = "app secret code"; if (!IsPostBack) { if (Request.QueryString["error"] == "access_denied") { ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "alert", "alert('User has denied access.')", true); return; } string code = Request.QueryString["code"]; // here code takes Null for 2nd login if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(code)) { string data = FaceBookConnect.Fetch(code, "me"); Facebooklogin faceBookUser = new JavaScriptSerializer().Deserialize<Facebooklogin>(data); faceBookUser.PictureUrl = string.Format("https://graph.facebook.com/{0}/picture", faceBookUser.Id);
I am following your code. In "FaceBookConnect.Authorize", if a user is logged in in Facebook, it prompts for authentication. But if the user is not logged in, it redirects to facebook home page. I would like to create a pop up instead. Is it possible to do so?
