VS 2005 Page Is Not Opening Using Script Control,Updatepanel?

I am clicking on CommandField “ShowSelectButton” from grid and generating report which takes 5 minutes and I am showing progress image. After report generation I am displaying report using below code:-

Now the problem is that my aspx page is not opening when I am using ScriptControl, UpdatePanel and UpdateProgress object. If I comment
all these object then it works fine. What could be the problem? How can I achieve same functionality?Using this entire code I am only able to generate report, displaying progess image but report page is not opening. Well pop-up in not blocked,also no error.

My web application is opening up a word document using Response -

Which works fine.
However, is there anyway to open the word document in the background?

I used to implement this above title by using iframe but now I don't want to use it any more I have some plans in my mind I need to implement them by opening an external page inside our asp.net page without using any iframe I have only simple aspx page with div tag and panel and some other serverside components, I just want to know how I can do it without iframe? I don't want to design new complex control but I am looking for some methods can do that for me.
I have to mention that I need to control area which is loaded by external site as the same as iframe but the difference is that iframe can not handled by ajax even you put iframe inside the update panel your page has refresh and postback while you are changing the src value programmatically (in c# code) so we have to design some others methods what is the solution? I thought I can make request an get some html and show into div but I couldn't to implement it.

I am developing a intranet for our company and right now have a problem on loading my report. I developed my report with Visual Studio 2005 and try to load it with Visual Web Developer. I downloaded ReportViewer as well. My database connection is Windows Authentication also. Here is my code in Visual Web Developer:

What is the best method to register a stylesheet once on a page from a customer web control? the page uses an UpdatePanel for async calls. I tried just putting the <link> tag in ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(), but I get this error:
The script tag registered for type 'MyControl' and key 'MyKey' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . Only properly formatted script tags can be registered.
If I try to add it to the page by adding it to the control hierarchy, it shows up once for each instance of my control on the page.

I want to use Updatepanel on one of the page in website. I have used updatepanel but it does not show any effect of UpdatePanel like Page autorefresh. I have used update panel for whole page, still it got refresh on button click event on the page. what kind of settings I have to do to work update panel on my web-site. Note that: I have added dll reference for AjaxControlToolkit. I don't want to upgrade my website to Ajax enabled website.

I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.

I want to control the login user to access our system. I authenticated all of users by using my own way in project. and I want to limit the number of user to access the system cncurrently. It means , We sell our project to customer as Licence software. If user buy it for three users, we will allow three conurrent login user to access the system. Our system allow our customer to create their own users as they wish. We don't want to control the user creation to use the system. but But we want to control the total no of current login user at the server as per our licence agreement . After reading some article, I see there are two main ways to control the no of users.
One way is to use the membership property in my project and then can count the number of online users by executing Membership.GetNumberOfUsersOnline Method.
If I use membership property, I think it is not ok at my project. As my understanding, the system will control the user creation if we use the memebership provider. I am not really sure whether I can use membership provider property to get my system requirement or not.

Now, my question is, if I have more than one page like Sample1.aspx and Sample2.aspx and I want to open [URL] directly, how can I do this. It is redirecting again to Sample.aspx. I've got problem with Ajax.BeginForm in ASP.MVC 3. I want to search textbox for my database. So I've got this code in my Index view:

i have web site, and i am using <asp:FileUpload ID="fileUploader" runat="server"/> to upload client xml file in sql database.
My site is hosted on Testing server, using IIS7.0, but client don't have iis server on his local machin.
Now the problem is that, if the user is trying to upload the xml file(or text file) from local machine(client machine), when user click the Browser button of "asp:FileUpload" control to open the local hard drive (C:) it's not openinig the client machine(local machine) hard drive(C: or D:). so user is not able to select his file location from his local machine to upload it.
But after clicking the Browser button it opening the Server hard drive.

I have an asp.net project both in .net 2005 and 2008.It is working fine in my PC and page is opening from browser but not from other PC.I can able to connect the other pc's,ping it sure there is no connection problem with pc.I think should be in IIS or sharing from my PC.I need both in .net 2005 and 2008.

I need to open a new window or page keeping the existing page open. I plan to put a Button on the existing page and when a user click the button, a new page or window pops up with what I have coded for that page. My preference would be that the user don't have to tweek any browser options or configure anhing else to open the new window with the click.

I am trying to open a PDF file that is protected. Is there a way using Response.AddHeader to define the password without having to prompt the user? Adobe automatically prompts the user to enter in the password. I do not want this to occur.
The following is how the pdf file is served to the user:

The file is protected as it may contain private information and we do not want to the user to freely download the file using Adobe reader without having the pdf protected. Is there a way to pass the password to the browser without prompting the user (through Adobe)?
