I have this requirements on my project and I don't know where to start. i need to create a web page using asp.net that accept parameters username and password and this page will be called by windows application, so windows app will pass username and password in order log in my web page.

When a user clicks on upload file, If possible I would like the page to automatically kind of log in with the system account, copy the files and then log off. I know I could achieve something similar mapping a drive but would prefer not to do that for these reasons;
- Security risk if the mapped drive for some reason isnt removed by the code
- User may not have the drive letter free.
I set up a secured folder in my website. When I access this folder via web page, it pop up a windows login form to ask for user name and password. I would like to code the asp.net page or java script to access this secured folder with username and password without pop up the login form. find the method for asp.net page accessing the secured folder automatically.

we have a web application that one company prepared for us. this application read connection string from registery key in hkey_local_machine and connect to sql server 2005 database. It worked correctly in windows server 2003. we changed our Server'OS to windows server 2008. but we have a problem to login. after try to login we see this error: Server Error in '/dabir' Application. View 1 RepliesI'm trying to enable automatic Window authentication working on our ASP.NET Intranet. I've changed the Authentication on our IIS 7.5 server from Anonymous to Windows Authentication Enabled only, and changed the Web.config file for the website to:

The Windows login box appears when accessing the website via IE 8, I enter valid credentials, but the login window keeps reappearing as if it does not accept my credentials. By repeatedly cancelling the login box it disappears, and my login name can be viewed on the website. Is there any possible reason for the login box to keep popping up even though valid credentials are being entered? I've restarted the servers / cleared browser cache etc. Also, ideally I would like the user to enter the login details once in the login box and not be required to reenter login details whenever he reopens the browser.

I just downloaded and installled the Microsoft Windows Azure SDK yesterday for the first time and I am having issues running the application as I all I am getting is 503 errors. I run Windows Server 2008 R2 on my development machine and even tested it on another co-workers 2008 R2 and couldn't even compile the application. He got this error instead "A problem occurred while trying to set the "References" parameter for the IDE's in-process compiler. Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component."
From within my Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Virtual Windows 7 x86 enviroment, I was able to successfully build and run the Windows Azure SDK and it even showed the base ASP.NET application.So my question is, does the Windows Azure SDK for Visual Studio 2010 w/ Visual Studio 2010 SP 1 installed not work under Microsoft Server 2008 R2?
I need to create an application with Forms Authentication and/or Windows Authentication. If the application is set to use mixed authentication (Forms + Windows Auth) and the user don't have a Windows user account, the login will fail and he must be redirected to a forms login page. How can I do this?
Are there any different way to provide mixed authentication?
We have a working version of application (Intranet) with uses Windows Authentication deployed in Windows 2003. The application uses HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name to get the logged-in user. Here impersonate is turned off.Right now, we are move to Windows 2008 RC2 where this Windows Authentication problem arised. I have Digest Authentication and Windows Authentication enabled. And also I have enabled Anonymous Authentication enabled to avoid the Login dialog of IIS in the end-user IE. Now I am getting HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name as Empty. For this to achive i have write following line of code <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="60;url=" />
But i am facing one problem that after this duration of 15minute page will refresh as a new page load.
At my page i have used combo box having city list, there is a case when i select an item from this list at index 3. After that i just make page idle and after 15 minute page is refresh with the script i write for auto post back (mentioned above). But the problem is that due to this page is reload as a new page and code inside (!PostBack) execute which refill combobox and reset at index 1. My basic requirement is that whenever user reaches that page and makes it idle for longer time, session should not expire and hence i am writing above script so that session would be live.
I have looked at all the posts I can find on this problem and tried everything I can think of, but still the problem persists. I am getting really sick of it.was working fine for the last year until an update to MS Office 2007 caused a lot of problems (automatic update). After checking posts here, I removed it completely. No change. I then tried all the things I could find on other posts, also no change. Today, I removed VS and the Web Authoring Component and re-installed. Still no go.
Does anyone have a fix for this problem. It seems that it has been around a long time, but is still giving problems. I even saw one suggestion to reformat the drive! You've got to be joking!

So, when i don't use Response.Redirect, the login succeeded, but all the links in the Response data refers to my development server, for example if i click on "support" link, it'll redirect the page to ("http://localhost:3506/support.cfm")!! which will rais of cource "The resource cannot be found" error
And when i use Response.Redirect, i'll loose the session, mean it'll not keep my login for the site.

I was wondering what the following error means: Login Failed. The Login Is From An Untrusted Domain And Cannot Be Used With Windows Authentication. Initially, when my application was much simpler, I had no permissions and roles and my authentication mode was set to "windows". Afterwards, however, I added authorization, changed the authentication mode to "Forms" and ever since, when I try to login, I get the error above.

One thing that would look great would be to automatically move between pages on my site (and maybe others) after a certain time. For example, you setup page x for 2 mins, then page y for 2 mins then page z for 4 mins. Now, I can do this easily inside my existing website. However, I would like to be able to switch to other sites with login where required. So basically a website of its own that just diverts according to a script. Has anyone seen anything like this on the market or have concepts similar?
Note, my webspages are ajax-ified so any timers would not be allowed to interupt updated.
