VS 2010 - Fieldset Legend Displays Wrong In Different Browsers

For my login page, I use the built in stuff in vwd. However I am trying to change the background color of the login fieldset. Simple, right?
Well IE doesn't work, no surprise, filling the whole box with the color and then drawing the top border a bit down. I solved this by positioning the legend absolute at -.8em. So far so good. It works with IE.
In stead, FF is bungling. Now the border is visible in the legend, although not on top of the text. Still, it almost looks as a strikethrough font.
I just want a fieldset with a legend and a background color that stays within the border. And that works with all browsers.

I currently have an Instance of the ASP.net ajax control toolkit combo box residing in a field set with a style of position:releative applied. The control also sits in a very plain table.
There are two problems with the display of the list:
The list does not sit flush with the text box. In I.E. 7 (which is the majority of my target audience, intranet where IE7 is the company standard) the list display about 10px below the fieldset, which is what the bottom margin of the fieldset is set to. In FF 2.0 the list sits sinificantly lower and off-set to the right.
Below the filed set there is more content in a div, also with a style of position:relative applied. The list from the combo box displays behind the content of this div, which is obviously an issue.
Removing position: releative from the fieldset resolves the display issue of the combo box, but results in other unwanted display side effects.

One thing I really don't like about Updatepanel is that I have to rebind almost all components in the page.
For example, I have to specify Eidit (Update) index (for inline editing) after rebind Listview using Update panel (after partial update).
It was too much job to rebind all components, so I redirected to same page and used Querystring to pass values in order to avoid all components to be updated based on one value...
If I update Listview using Updatepanel, the datapager has to be updated as well based on new Select SQL statement results.
Listview is pretty simple to update, using "Listview1.bind()" does the job.
Datapager is also in updatepanel, but it won't rebind with new results.
After post back, I'm still getting same Datapager as the orignal SQLDataSource.
In orger to "refresh" Datapager, what do I need to do??
I used to use iframe to do partial page update, but I'm having big problem using Updatepanel since simple rebind won't do the job.

I have a weird thing happening. I have two identical databases installed on one virtual machine but under two different instances of SQLServer. For some reason, periodically when saving from one it will save to the other instead. Using debug, I have verified that the connection string is correct and when the item saves, it still saves to the wrong database.I use session variable, and am of the belief that it might have something to do with it...and t hat when I go from one to the other it is still getting the connection string form the other for some reason.To make sure that it isn't a problem, I make sure that I completely close out one database before opening the other in a new IE window.I assume that when I completely close out an internet explorer window that it abandons all session states. Is that true?

I've had this problem for a while now, it seems to come and go (sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't) and I can't really figure out what's wrong.Basically my aspx code will sometimes format automatically, except not in the way I want it to. I always structure html and xml-like code as such:

This way I can quickly see which tags belong to which, and I think this is the usual way html is formatted, right? Anyway, suppose that I have this code in my aspx code window (don't mind that it's not aspx code, that's not the point), then sometimes VS will automatically format it to this:

Basically it seems to put all closing tags on the last line, leaving me sometimes (with many nested tags) with an extremely long line at the end, making it completely impossible to see the structure of my code. Here is an actual example. This is how I wrote my code:

Unfortunately, like it says in the title, the swedish characters (among others I guess) comes back in ASCII (I think).

I have a very weird thing happening. I have two databases that have exactly the same tables but different database names on the same virtual machine, but in different instances of SQL Server. For some reason, when using one of them, it will save to the other. In debug, looking at my connection string..I have verified that it is correct, yet when I allow the save, I look in the table and it isn't there, it is in the other database that is in a table with a completely different name and in a different instance of SQL Server.

I have the following within a Fieldset control - Label, Textbox (date), icon (for calendar extender)
The CalendarExtender is extending the textbox with a PopupButtonID= the icon.
The issue I have is that when I click the icon the calendar displays under the textbox (correcly) but is not displayed fully as it is cut off by the frameset.[URL]
I know if I have a drop down list it displays fully outside the Frameset while this seems to be inside the frameset.

Stylish Collapsible Fieldset using CSS3 and JQuery, I have created asp.net web form with collapsible fieldsets. In this when page loads all the fieldsets are collapsed/closed but when user clicks on any fieldset it becomes expand/open.

The asp.net chart control (pie) is becoming smaller and smaller as I add more and more legend items. How can I prevent this? If I set the maximum space that the legend can take, items are getting truncated. Therefore, I want to find a way to dynamically set the size of the chart.

I am using a Chart Control, and I have 2 series. In my case 1 for month and 1 for year. The problem is when the chart control is displayed during run time for some reason the legend has 4 entries 1 says Mont, 1 says Year, 1 says Series 1, and 1 says series 2. My question is why are there 4 entries for the legend?

I am trying to use domain masking to simulate multi-tenant access to my application. The plan right now is to read the subdomain portion of the domain ie: [URL] and load settings from the DB using that name.
The issue I'm having is that request.url is getting the request url - NOT the url in the browser.
So if I have [URL] forwarding to [URL] with masking, request.url is grabbing the latter, simply because of how masking works, i assume - by putting the masked site inside of a frame.
Is it even possible to read the url in the browsers address bar?

I am designing ASP.net Web pages and not sure if this would be the right way to do this.I am designing the web sites that will be accessed from either regular computers or mobile devices (phone).I was thinking to detect at very first page that whether users are coming from mobile browser or regular browser and direct to appropriate pages. So for mobile users, create/display separate UIs (rearrange controls to fit on mobile device) and for regular users, create/display separate UIs. The backend functionalities will be same, but just the UIs. Therefore, in this case I will create two separate projects in same solution, one for mobile UIs, and other one for regular UIs, but same code behinds.
