I have a listview displaying my products and an "Add to Cart" button in the item template. the button fires 2 functions that should add that specific products information and the order details to two SQL database tables(Orders and Quantity(intersection entity between Orders and Products tables)) then you get redirected to the shopping cart page and it should display the item(s) according the specific key in the Quantity table(key is foreign key in Orders)My problem is that i cannot pull any information from the specific item template when i click that button. Need a way to find that specific controls information in my listview. Can anyone help with this?Below is my item template...
<ItemTemplate>\

I'm debugging some unexpected behavior and while tracing in to the .NET framework I see a bunch of stuff like this:
if (Logging.On) {
Logging.PrintInfo(Logging.Web, this, SR.GetString(SR.net_log_n_certs_after_filtering, filteredCerts.Count));
...
}
But (as expected by default) the execution steps right over these. Is there some way to turn on the logging? Or is that just something that the framework developers can do while making special builds of the framework?

I have a web page http://www.biomagscience.org/Automotive_Fuel.aspx it uses a master and content pages.
If you click the Add to Cart button for the $ 99.95 item it takes you back to the page and not to the cart, but the other 2 buttons work just fine.

I'm using MS Enterprise Logging Application Block in an ASP.NET website.
For production launch, I will set up a log listener in one of these locations:
Sql Server database
Windows event log
Text files
Which has the least impact on performance?
NB - I can't switch to Log4Net or ELMAH at this point, so don't suggest that in your response.

I spent a day trying to make Ent Lib Logging work and log anything into database or event log. I have a web application and console application with the same Ent Lib config but only the console application is capable to log into the Event Log. I tried everything with permissions but I don't know what exactly I am doing — which services should have what. It does not work!
I read articles like this[URL] and I want to try to give the ASPNET account those permissions. I am using Windows 7 and I cannot find ASPNET user account. So where is it?
This is the config file which is automatically generated from Ent Lib utility and it works only on App.config, not on web.config:

Basically, I have a gridview table with a dropdownlist column and I need a way to retrieve the selected item from it. Now I'm using an imagebutton in order to get the selected item from the dropdownlist to pop-up as a message box (as a string). I already know how to get text from a boundfield. However, using the same code to get the dropdown list item won't work. This is a snippet from my code:
ASP code:
Select...
8:00
9:00
10:00
11:00
12:00
1:00
2:00
3:00
4:00
Visual Basic code:
<asp:BoundField DataField="Case#" HeaderText="Case#" ReadOnly="True" />
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Surgery Time">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:DropDownList ID="Time_Slot" runat ="server">
<asp:ListItem Selected="True" Value="0">Select...</asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem Value="1">8:00</asp:ListItem>
[CODE]....

I am trying to set the item that is selected from a drop down list based on what it in the database for that particular record. I am filling the dropdown list with a SQL DataSource I have tried a couple of example that I have found for selecting the item in the list but I am always getting the first item in the list as the selected item. This is what I am currently working with:
Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
If IsPostBack Then
Else
Dim ID = New Guid(Request.QueryString("ID"))

I have a menu control which is based on a sitemap as below.
However whilst the security aspect is working i.e. users cannot access a page without being in the correct role the menu does not seem to hide any of the menu items.
I really want users only to see the help menu item before they log in, then after this point they should see all items unless they are External in which case the Uploads and Admin Items should be hidden.
Is this not possible or have I set up my sitemap wrong?
If I remove roles="*" from the first node no menu items are visible at all even after login?

II am populating a radiobuttonlist in code on page load, although not when postback is true (I've checked this by the way).
Autopostback is set to true, viewstate is enabled (everywhere I can think of, although only in the content page, if that matters)
When I select an item, the postback happens, the populating does not happen, and the selection reverts back to the first item, which was never selected.
Nowadays I have the knowledge to do this in javascript, but I would prefer not to. It can't be that it should work like this, can it? The control would be useless. I want the index that is selected.

I'm working on an ASP.NET webforms app that will serve as a simple intake form to create work items in TFS 2010.The app works correctly when I run it locally in debug mode--the submission completes and the work item is created.
When I publish the form to our dev server, it yellow screens and throws the following error:
[SecurityException: TF50309: The
following account does not have
sufficient permissions to complete the
operation: DOMAINNAMESERVERNAME$. The
following permissions are needed to
perform this operation: View
collection-level information.]
In my code, I'm attempting to access TFS using a service account, and from what I can tell the service account is being used correctly when I run in debug mode.Here's what my C# looks like:
string tfsServerUrl = "http://servername:8080/tfs";
string tfsProject = "Web Team Projects"; [code]....
If I set a breakpoint at the tfs.Authenticate() line, the server object shows the service account name as the current user and IsAuthenticated = true.
The line in the exception that mentions SERVERNAME$ is what's stumping me. It's seems like IIS is deciding to try to access TFS with the app pool identity instead of the credentials that I'm explicitly supplying.Our dev server is a Server 2008 box running IIS 7.

I am binding Dropdownlist from sqldatasource. Is it possible to check conditions with Dropdownlist on each item bound, based on the select command.
Code:
<asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" runat="server" DataSourceID="SQLDataSource1" DataTextField="emp_name" DataValueField="emp_id"></asp:DropDownList>
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="SQLDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ConnectionStrings:ConnectionString1 %>" SelectCommand="select emp_id,emp_name,status from emp_master"></asp:SqlDataSource>
In this example code, when binding if the status of the employee is OffDuty then it must be highlighted in DropDownList.

The title pretty much explains it. I want to bind a single item to a detail type control. I can bind to a repeater perfectly fine and obviously only one item will be displayed. It seems like there would be a better suited control for this. I know about FormView and DetailsView but they both generate a table which I don't really want. Something similar to the Repeater since it doesn't generate any content other than what you put in the template.

I tried using the the New ASP.NET Default Web Template in Visual Studio 2010 but one issue I'm encountering is with the CSS selected menu item and read apost which stated that...
"This screenshot demonstrates some of the styling options provided by the CSS, including the style for the selected About menu item"...In the screenshot the "About Us" menu item is highlighted but the page's content is the "Home" page content, not "About Us" page. My problem is...I can't get the selected item to be highlighted as in the screenshot even with fresh site using the built in template.

My existing system has Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. But Microsoft web installer for Webmatrix has made Wematrix Launch ribbon menu pointing to Visual Studio 2008. How could I make Webmatrix point to Visual Web Express 2010. To make use of IntelliSense and the debugger, I have to manually launch Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.

offer a good shopping cart tutorial?This looked like just the thing: http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/other/build-a-shopping-cart-in-aspnet/There are postive and negative comments though.I'm a C# beginner so know how to put it mostly together, but I'm not experience enough to know anything about "singletons" and other performance issues that above code may have.
