Dec 15, 2010I'm struggling with this problem about 2 weeks and still cannot find the resolution.I was developed a .Net application with visual studio 2008 and using crystal report to generate report.It is working fine in my local machine. However, after I deployed the application to web server with microsoft server 2003 64bits server. The report cannot open and I get this error The type initialize or 'crystaldecisions.crystalreports.engine.reportdocument' threw an exception. I try to install the redistribution package from C:Program FilesMicrosoft SDKsWindowsv6.0ABootstrapperPackagesCrystalReports10_5 but it doesn't work.

But Microsoft web installer for Webmatrix has made Wematrix Launch ribbon menu pointing to Visual Studio 2008. How could I make Webmatrix point to Visual Web Express 2010. To make use of IntelliSense and the debugger, I have to manually launch Visual Web Developer 2010 Express.

I have looked through post build commands and afterbuild targeting but I have not been successful so far. I would like to do this straight through VS2008 if possible without needing to install anything extra, put if thats not possible then any solution would do!

It was working fine for months & i formatted my comp & when i tried to reinstall it is not getting installed !
It shows the following error !
and the error log file seems to be like this...
BUT.,
I'm able to use Visual Studio & i'm able to work in it....
I'm re-installing since 2 days for more than 4 times...

Jun 9, 2010I'm making a solution with Visual Studio 2010 using "cr4vs2010". When I start my web app from Visual Studio and I open my report, There is any problem, but if I want to export this file to a .pdf file or to other format, I receive a JS error message:
"Object required" and the debugger marks the following line:

Sometimes in previous versions of CrystalReports I only copy the "aspnet_client" folder in the application root and it works, but in this version of Crystal Reports this folder does not exists.

Mar 14, 2011I just upgraded my development machine from Crystal Reports XI to Crystal Repors XI Rel2 so I could use the Graphic Location feature in CR. When I run my site locally, reports work great. When I deploy to the server, I get "Database logon failed." The Crystal Reports are not connecting to the database. They are connecting to datasets that are populated at runtime. The network admin said he upgraded CR on the server. The references in my solution that work when my app is deployed to the server are version 10.5.3700.0.
The references that do not work are 11.5.3700.0. I have made no other changes to my .net code.

Oct 2, 2010I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition. I googled for the same, it says u might not have selected crystal reports feature while installation of vs. I am sure that i had selected installtion type = Full/Complete.
So has it anything to do with vs service pack etc. I dont have VS 2008 SP1, but VS 2008. Or wud be better if we can add crystal report component explicitly. (kinda standalone installer for crystal reports and then it will automatically merge with VS.)

Oct 5, 2010I was using VS2008 everything ws going well but one day because of some problem i have to reload the windows and VS2008 and since then i am unable to open the designer.It does not give me any error message but i am unable to use any of the feature after clicking design or view designer from solution explorer.I have tried reinstalling the VS2008 but it does not solve my problem.
