I am using Visual Studio 2005, I dnt know which short key I pressed but after that what happened is all the spaces or tabs are now converting into dots or arrows.
for example the code is displaying like that as shown below

may be i m asking a very vague question, but how to remove the dots that appear for spaces in the design and code view of the page. Dont know how it came and how to remove it and it looks very confusing.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 for an MVC website project. I have an big problem and dont know hot to solve it. When i am looking to the output of html in firebug indents in my aspx and ascx files are outputed as space in same places. I think its about line ending of files but i am not sure how to fix them. I am adding some pictures about problem.
When i am adding a breakpoint it also add red background to spaces (this is problem) I try to delete spaces after hit ctrl+k d same problem happen. If i delete all indents make page 1 line without spaces output is fine but it not a solution.
How can I convert text that I type manually into the VS ASP.NET Designer into a Label control?
View 1 RepliesI have been working on this project for a few months in VS2008.. now that we are getting closer to the end, one of the other programmers has been working and doing his in VS2010, so when i try to open his projects in VS2008 it just shows up as XML.. so i have to open in VS2010.. thats fine..
But if i try to open my project in 2010, it prompts to use the conversion wizard.. Should i be concerned or are there any issues with doing the conversion? Being the end of the project, i dont want to cause issues at this point.. So would like to know if converting the project file at this stage in our project a good idea? Will there be any issues using his code with mine since they were developed in 2 different versions..
i've converted a asp.net website to a web-application.
in the website i have some custom classes (folder App_Code) which where encapsulated in a namespace.
when i try to build the web-application i get the compiler error type or namespace not found for my own classes.
e.g.
my class in App_Code/helper/ui/UIHelpers.cs:
[Code]....
at compile time i get the error-message type or namespace 'MYAPP' not found..
After following the instructions in Scott Guthrie's blog for converting a web site to a web application project, I am getting many, many errors. Most are either 'Name <control> is not declared.' or 'Type <type> is not defined.' And most, but not all of these errors are in the same .vb page.
Does anyone know the best way to fix this?

View 2 RepliesI just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
View 1 RepliesVisual Studio 2010 Beta 2 locked up, and when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't load, so I did a devenv.exe /resetuserdata to get it going again. It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. In my investigating i have come across number of tools(shown below) to use with Visual Studio 2008 professional
Development tool:- Visual Studio 2008 professional using Subversion as source control tool. Continuous Integration:- Hudson or Cruise control Build tool:- NAnt Testing:- NUnit, Selinium As Visual Studio 2008 can be used for unit testing I think NUnit is out of consideration.
In the same way i would like to have any other tools/add-ons to Visual studio to implement continuous integration, building and unit testing. This process should be automated such a way source code between team members is continuously integrated, built and unit testing is done as configured.
Objective is to use few number of tools as add-on to Visual Studio or achieve most from Visual studio itself (example unit testing). Visual Studio should be all in one tool.
I am aware that Team Foundation Server best suits my requirement, but it is out of scope due to its cost.

It was working fine for months & i formatted my comp & when i tried to reinstall it is not getting installed !
