My WCF service working fine when my dataset table contain less no rows...
When the DataSet tables contains large data then it gives error like this..
according to the developer of the web service I am calling.He said "bump up the default values for the following":
maxBufferSize="4096000"
maxReceivedMessageSize="4096000"
Where can I put these to bump them up? I've tried googling these settings, and I get sections of web.config that I don't have. I don't have a WCF client, either. Does this make sense to do from my web service, developed in VS 2010?
I'd like to just call his service without changing anything, get the error, and then go from there. I'm even getting that far because I got some other exception saying server was unable to process request, but it had nothing to do with exceeding a buffer size.
this is my Gridview style
asp:GridView ID="gvAmount" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False"
CellPadding="3"
DataKeyNames = "id"[code]....
here im binding more than 20 records to this gridview. at one situation Title will come alone without any other data, at that time i would like to show the title in a single line so i have increased the Title (first column) width but that size would be set to all the rows, so without affecting other row columns width how to increase that Title size alone.
I am having a lot of trouble with WCF web service over SSL / HTTPS, so I was wondering if (as a quick fix) I could serialize the object, convert that to a byte array, encrypt the array, pass the encrypted array.
On the other side receive the encrypted array, decrypt the array, convert from the array and then deserialize the object.
Thing is, when my service is providing result of type string my client .aspx page is working fine and it gives reference in my code. But now I changed my service to provide custom data type and I can't see service reference in my code, intellisense doesn't offer it at all. What am I missing here? WCFTestClient.exe is giving good results but I can't create my own in VS 2008

I am trying to increase the size of file upload for my ASP.NET app.. (Windows 2008 Enterprise + IIS 7)
What I have done in web.config:
<system.webServer>
<security>
<requestFiltering allowDoubleEscaping="true">
<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="100000000" />
</requestFiltering>
</security>
</system.webServer>
If I want to increase the upload size which part of should I edit in the code below:
<system.web>
<httpRuntime executionTimeout="240" maxRequestLength="20480" />
<compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.0"/> </system.web>
In my web app, if user clicks a button, I have to kick off a long running task. I have to keep the user informed about the status of execution of the task from time to time. To accomplish this, I create a thread on button click which makes a synchronous webservice call. The webmethod works on a long running task; while the main thread informs the users about the status of execution.
Currently the webmethod call times out in approximately 90 seconds. I want to increase the timeout to 10 mins. I tried setting <httpRuntime executionTimeout="600"/> along with debug="false"; but in vein. Can anyone tell me what I am missing?
i am working on my master site, and i want to add an image that increases its lenght as the website's length increases...
but im not sure how to do that, i know it's possible because i've seen it done on banners, but im not completely sure how to do it.
I have a web service that is declared like this.
[Code]....
Function inside the service simply returns string separated by some delimitor. This string is then used by JS function to assign to a jQuery datatable. Is there a maximum limit on size of this string? I have about 2000 rows with 6 columns each. I get an error (failed handle) when I return them all. But if I do only top 500, it works fine.Is there any size limitation?
[WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")]
My admin set innodb_buffer_pool_size=512M, innodb_log_file_size=128M, and innodb_log_buffer_size=1M although in mysql query show global variables its showing what the value is set. When i restart my system also its showing what we set the data.(It means we set log file buffer file size to max and its working fine.) but when i try to upload a file of 58 mb again its throwing error as The size of BLOB/TEXT data inserted in one transaction is greater than 10% of redo log size.
View 1 RepliesI have a field in my dataset with type nvarchar(1000). when I link it to crystal reports, it converts it to a field of type string with length set to 100. As a result of that, the string in that field is being truncated on the report. How can I increase the string length to 1000? (I already checked the "Can grow" option).
View 3 RepliesI had an interview Thursday and one questions that I was asked in the technical interview was a little confusing.
First, he asked me about Viewstate and I explained to him what all that entailed.
He then asked me what happens if the data you are putting into the Viewstate gets to big.
I told him you could then use Sessions or start storing things in the Database.
He said, what about Data Compression? I immediately responded by saying, yes you can use Serialization/Deserialization to store/retrieve the data (i'm using that in my open source project).
When he says "Data Compression", is he talking about "Serialization" or is this something different?
I have created a WCF Rest API Service using wcf rest starter kit preview 2 which automatically return JSON or XML data depending on the requested content type. everything is working fine but as my service methods return multiple data type some methods returns a object of a class or collection of class, bool, int or collection type. so I planed to return a same Response in all methods for this I Create a new class as following:
[DataContract(Namespace = "")]
public class ServiceResponse
{
[DataMember]
public bool IsError
{ get; set; }
[DataMember]
public string ResponseMessage
{ get; set; }
[DataMember]
public Object ResponseData
{ get; set; }
}
and User class as following:
[DataContract(Namespace = "")]
public class User
{
[DataMember]
public string UserName
{ get; set; }
[DataMember]
public int UserID
{ get; set; }
}
In ServiceResponse Class I have declared an Object Type property ResponseData and my all method has return type of ServiceResponse. My problem is that when I set any string,bool,int type as ResponseData it is serialized but when I set collection type or an object of another class which also has DataContarct attribute this class is not serialized see below code :
public ServiceResponse GetUser(int userID)
{
User user = getUser(userID); get user data from database
ServiceResponse response=new ServiceResponse();
var response = new ServiceResponse
{
IsError = false,
ResponseMessage = string.Empty,
ResponseData = user; // Setting Result Data here
};
return response;
}
when I called above method(GetUser) I got Null response due to serialization problem, but following code works fine
public ServiceResponse TestMethod(string testMessage)
{
ServiceResponse response=new ServiceResponse();
var response = new ServiceResponse
{
IsError = false,
ResponseMessage = string.Empty,
ResponseData = testMessage; // Setting Result Data here
};
return response;
}
