Nov 26, 2010My scenario:I am using a web service which access the sql server database to provide an XML output. this part is working fine. I am using a SqlDataAdapter and DataTable with Fill method to get the data.
Problem:When more than one person access this web service at the same time i get the error message which is given in the subject line.
I understand the problem is because of the sql connection which is still open by the first user. If the first user completes his operation before the second users request then both the user receives the correct response.
My Solution:What i did was i initiated 10 connection strings and will check which connection string is closed and i have used this connection for the second persons request if they both access at the same time.

Mar 14, 2011I am seeking your expertise in ASP.Net with regards to multi-thread support of WebService in a scenario , that is If a WebService-Client is making simultaneous calls from the same process, the requests will be serialized at the WebServices so that only one-call will execute at any one time , on the contrary, if those calls are sent from different WebService-Clients ( Instances/Processes) , they are processed in-parallel by WebServices.
Have you ever experienced the same with ASP.Net, and what configurations/Settings should be followed, in order for a WebServices to concurrently process simultaneous calls form a single WebClient , when deploying a large number of Web-Clients' instances/processes is impractical in a project-context.
WCF / ASMX :: Location Of Web Service Support DLLs?
Aug 5, 2010I have several ASP.NET 1.1 web services that make use of several common DLLs. Rather than having each web service contain its own copy of these DLLs, I would like to have these DLLs centrally located so that I don't have to remember to update each web service with new copies of the DLLs if they happen to change. For example, if web services WSA and WSB each use XYZ.DLL does XYZ.DLL need to be in both WSA and WSB or can WSA and WSB be told that XYZ.DLL is is some other folder like C:Common? Is this at all possible or do I have to have a copy of the DLLs in each web service folder?

Mar 25, 2010I'm having my first experience with Web Services with .Net. I received from a client an integration manual to consume a web service they have.
In this manual I have the following information:
Request Interface: [URL]
Using SOAP request would return a XML Document with the response.
WSDL: [URL]
Request XML:
[Code]....
There's also XSD for the response XML.
Well, I'm having a little trouble trying to figure out how to consume this web service.
I found a topic here pointing to a MSDN article. There it says that I would have to add a Web Reference for this web service, but in my case this web service is external. Do I really have to add this reference to consume the web service? If yes how do I do that?
Next I have to create the XML Document that will be sent with the SOAP request. But here's a question. Searching on the internet I found mainly two types of request XML. I don't know wich one I should use.
The first one would be:
[Code]....
The second one is a XML file with soap:Body, soap:Header, soap:Envelope, etc.
Wich one should I create with my application in order to consume the web service? If it's the second one, how would look the XML for the data of the first XML?
And finally, how do I send the Soap request? As I said above, I found a MSDN article but it assumes I'm adding a web reference to the web service on my project and I belive that in my case I won't add this reference. So, how do I consume this web service?
I'm kind of lost here and really really soon I will have to estimate how long will take to develop the web service consume code.

Mar 25, 2010I have a webservice, that when called, calls many other web services based on the information that was sent. I have always left the timeout as the default, or a better way to describe it, I have never changed anything.
How (and where) do I change the timeouts for each service individually. Since I have quite a few now, I want the original transaction to never take more than 30 seconds. That said. I want to go in and change the timeouts for the services I have to ping in that 30 seconds to be 5 to 10 seconds based on which one.
