Web Forms :: Caching A TreeView Control - RootNodeStyle.Font.Bold Will Not Persist
Dec 8, 2010
I have a TreeView control, that for reasons of performance (it takes a LONG time to do all the database queries to build it) is being cached. The data and treeView control seem to cache just fine, EXCEPT for the RootNodeStyle.Font.Bold property. On initial page-load (when it's cached), the root nodes come out bold. However, when retrieving the TreeView control from cache, the root nodes are NOT bold (even though reading that property shows TRUE).
Here's some code:
[Code]....
The first time this code is called (i.e., when the cache is not hit and the TreeView control is populated, the resulting TreeView has its root nodes in a bold font. However, when the cache is hit, the root nodes are NOT bold (the RootNodeSTyle.Font.Bold property is True, but the output HTML is not bold).
i have tool tip for an image in asn asp.net & c#.net and i want to set particular part of the tool tip text to be bold with different font color, how can that be done?
I would like to know why somethimes DefaultValue in properties window is displayed in bold text and somethimes in normal weight text? What i know is that the Value in Properties Window should display bold only if the Value is different than DefaultValue.
So i have a situation, where i need to set DefaultValue's and i'm successfully setting the boolean Value but failing in Integer value...
aspx:
[Code]....
Now the reason why i'm using Int32 in this example is that i hovered the mouse over the DefaultValue and it's said that "represents a 32-bit signed integer" but still no luck.
Why is my StepHour displayed bold and how to display this DefaultValue in regular weight text?
While populating the tree-view I have a requirement to bind the one particular level with a different colour. So, I am binding it as below
foreach (DataRow row in dr.GetChildRows("rsParentChild")) { TreeNode cChild; if (row["NAME"].ToString() != "") { if (row["Level"].ToString().Trim() == "4") { string strColor = "DarkOrange"; string fname = "<font id=" + row["NAME"].ToString() + " color ='" + strColor + "'>" + row["NAME"].ToString() + "</font>"; cChild = new TreeNode(fname, row["ID"].ToString()); } }
Now when the tree view loads, the required level 4 nodes are populated in DarkOrange. But, when any node is selected the backcolour changes as #6f9dd9 as per the style specified in the markup. But the fore-colour does not change.
I have a page with a number of user controls, In one of my user controls I have a button event. I turn on output cache for the user control that has the button and vary by control using the ID property of a hidden field control in the user control. whenever I turn on the output cache my button event doesn't fire.
I know that if I re-add the control during Page_Load, the posted values will be repopulated when the page is rendered; however, this is not the case when re-adding the control during the Click event and I need to add the control during an event handler.
I am using Wizard Contorl in one of my project, I want to maintain the state of the wizard control at any step .Let me explain further , let suppose when user is at Step 4 out of Step 10 and then user would close the browser so the state should be persisted and when the user come back again to the same URL the step would be 4.
I'm working with a custom DropDownList control in ASP.Net and there's been a request to display certain items in the list with a bold typeface (NOTE - the control inherits from CompositeDataBoundControl so it can be data bound... not DropDownListBox). The control is bound to a table and there's a column in the table named IsUsed - if this is set to true, the corresponding item in the list should be rendered bold. (It should be noted here that this will only ever be viewed in FireFox.)
My experience is all in the middle backend tiers so the presentation layer is very new to me - can someone point me in the right direction? My initial thought was that somewhere in the custom control I would have access to all the rows that are returned from the data source which I could cycle through etc but I'm not sure if that's possible... There's also RenderContents which I can override... looks interesting!
I'm having difficulty trying to create and persist controls inside of a gridview during postbacks. I have an unbound Datagrid control which is created with x number of rows and y number of columns during the Page_Load event.
[Code]....
During the RowDataBound event of the GridView, I create a placeholder control and then I create a label and add the label to the placeholder
[Code]....
On the first page load when navigating to the page, the grid dispays perfectly and the labels are created with no issues and I can see the "1" in every single cell of the Gridview. I basically need the labels in the cells to store an ID when the cell is clicked (the click event works with no issues, wired it all up with javascript) and Since the Cells to not exist prior to "Building the matrix" method, How can I persist the Label controls inside of the tablecells between postbacks so I can assign and read values from them.
I've read a number of online posts from 4guys from rolla and they demonstrate how to persist a handful of controls dynamically created in a staticly defined PlaceHolder conrol outside of the complicated setup of the gridview and have failed at adapting them. The golden rule seems to be to 'recreate' the controls during Page_PreInit during the postback, but I can't seem to get it working.
I have a label that I am adding dynamically and I would like it to be a custom Font (I know this font works in many browswers because its the default to our companies website).I want to change the font to "Palatino Linotype" but am unsure as to how this is possible. I thought it would be as simple as: Label1.Font = "Palatino Linotype"; however, this is not the case.
I have trie:
Font Palatino_Linotype = new Font("Palatino Linotype", 12); Label24.Font = Palatino_Linotype;
I get the error before compile:
Cannont implicitly convert type 'System.Drawing.Font' to 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.FontInfo'.
I can't find how to set font-style for titles on x and titles on y axes in the chart control? This titles are values, that are bind to chart control from database.
I tried this, but it only changes font-style for values on the top of each column.
Just upgraded from SSRS 2005 to 2008 (on a test server). I have a report with a list and in this list are about a dozen fields in textboxes whose fonts are all set to Verdana 8pt. When I run the report from the Report Manager, one of the 12 fields is displaying in a serif font (like Times New Roman) at around 12pt. When I preview the report in Visual Studio every field looks fine and when I run the same report in SSRS 2005 every field looks fine. Has to be a SSRS 2008 bug!
ajaxcontrol toolkit combobox control, a picture is worth than a lot of words so here is the picif you are not able to view then here is the link
http://flic.kr/p/8Uw29z
the problem is the items text in the combox box is having a square beneath at the second character which is hindering the visibility of the list. but the square is not appearing in the text area.
It is not caching. The control makes a call to SQL and displays some information. I tested it by changing a value in the database and refreshing the page. The control keeps making a call to the database eventhough I have the duraction set to 60 seconds. Am I missing something? Do I need to add code in the Page Load event?
I have a user control (say PricingGrid.ascx) which generates a pricing grid on a given product's page. I pass the user control 2 parameters : currencyId and productId. The user control has output caching specified by
[Code]....
I am adding PricingGrid.ascx to my page programatically, i.e. using LoadControl [URL]If the user changes their currency and refreshes the page, the cached version of their original currency is still showing, until the 60 seconds expires. Is there any way to force the page to check :1) Does a cached version of PricingGrid.ascx with their new currency exist?2) If so, retrieve that version, and if not, create that version. If I output all the keys in the Page.Cache object on PageLoad, I'm not seeing my user control in the output.
point me to information regarding getting font metrics from a true type font in C#? I need to split some text from an RSS feed for a given box height and width.
I've checked System.Drawing.Font and GetHeight is there but how do I get the width of a character?
I understand each character is rendered as a glyph but not sure which class will get the width of the character?
Once I click on 'Engines included' a treeview having all the engine node should show. I am geting the engine collection dynamically from database.
1.What should i use to create enginesIncluded control? 2.How do i show a user control having a treeview on click of 'engine included' control? 3. I also need to show the selected engines on the top row as buttons .
I was working with treeview and bumped into this problem where i need to add child nodes to a treeview control, these child nodes are a combination of textbox and button control so that
i should be able to save the text as new child control,i tried overiding the pre render and post render text but didn't get the solution.
How do I implement partial page caching with an AdRotator control? I know it's supposed to do it automatically, but I'm using the AdCreated event to handle stats, and this seems to cause the ad to be cached along with the rest of the page.
I am trying to persist data in a dynamically populated ListBox in a user control. Here are the details
I have a user control which contains a a listBox and button. On Page_Load of user control I am populating the ListBox control with some values. On Click of button, I am trying to fetch the values which I have selected in ListBox. Though this seems very simple and straight forward I am unable to fetch values.
I have placed brake point at Page_Load and on click function, I am seeing that the moment the breakpoint hits Page_Load function (before If (!Ispostback)) , listBox.SelectedIndex is becoming -1.
One more thing here is, I am placing this user control in an SharePoint application page to be specific checkin.aspx page . ( I know this should not be done, but that is the requirement for me)
