Web Forms :: Can't Position Elements In Content Page?
Jan 30, 2010
I'm designing a new site using CSS instead tables to position elements.Until now I was working only with tables.The tests were working well but when I use master pages and try to define the positioning of the page elements inside a content page it not works. The elements are inside a div. The div position is ok but the position of the div elements is not ok at runtime.More strange is that in design mode all works well ...I'm using VS2008.

When add elements, like text or other controls inside a big <div> block, they are alwasy on the top.
Ex. <div style="height:50px;">this is a test</div>
Does anyone know how to use CSS to position them in the middle of it? I tried using CSS vertical-align, no luck.

I have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.

The WorldPay payment gateway suggests using this HTML to take the customer to the payment page:
<form action="https://select-test.wp3.rbsworldpay.com/wcc/purchase" name="BuyForm" method="POST">
<input type="hidden" name="instId" value="211616">
<input type="hidden" name="cartId" value="abc123">
<input type="hidden" name="currency" value="GBP">
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="0">
<input type="hidden" name="desc" value="">
<input type="hidden" name="testMode" value="100">
<input type="submit" value="To Payment!">
</form>
How to I put this form on my page? The problem is I have a master page which wraps the content pages content in the ASP.net form, I can't nest the forms.

I'm using this Ajax script [URL] to load content from an aspx page on another server than the page calling the content. So far I've learned that this is a no go. The problem seems to be that when using an absolute link to content the script fails as apposed to using a relative link.
I've searched the web for about 10 hours now, and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

I am using GeoMap in my website, and GeoMap is little below in Web Page.I am using filters in GeoMap, i.e., when user selects any station and clicks on "button", all the locations related to selection shows in GeoMap. But everytime when I filter and click on button, page loads and scroll upward then again to see the filteration result in Geo Map, I had to scroll down my page.I want that when I filter any station and click on button, page should stick to that GeoMap section. It should not go upward until user scrolls the page.For this I tried using "Update panel" but then GeoMap javascript is not working.

Can I ask what this error refers to, (I have had it twice now over the last couple of days and then it goes away):
System.Web.HttpException: Content controls are allowed only in content page that references a master page.
This is followed by Stack Trace:
[HttpException (0x80004005): Content controls are allowed only in content page that references a master page.]
System.Web.UI.MasterPage.CreateMaster(TemplateControl owner, HttpContext context, VirtualPath masterPageFile, IDictionary contentTemplateCollection) +9744256
System.Web.UI.Page.get_Master() +55
System.Web.UI.Page.ApplyMasterPage() +14
System.Web.UI.Page.PerformPreInit() +51
System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1104
I am not using any Content Place Holder or Master Page (does the error refer to the Site.Master file because while I can see it in. Solution Explorer, I never use it. All of my aspx files look like this along the top with no reference to Site.Master:
Code:
<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="register1.aspx.vb" Inherits="register1" %>

I have serveral long ASP.Net pages, I use RequiredFieldValidator, RegularExpressionValidator and ValidatorCalloutExtender for validations, Submit buttons are typically at the bottom of the pages. The problem I have: if the errors happen at the top portion of the page when Submit buttons are clicked, the forms do not scroll to the top automatically, the users have to scroll up to see the ValidatorCalloutExtender.
