I tried this link to generate verification Image [URL] ..... It works fine.
But I'd like to put a button in page for regenerating captcha for example. When the image was unreadable for user.
So I put an updatepanel in page and this is my code:
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<ContentTemplate>
<tr> <td colspan="2">
<asp:Image ID="imCaptcha" ImageUrl="~/Captcha.ashx" runat="server" />
[Code] .....
Although the image changes but the whole page is refreshed. Whether this is due to incompatibilities httphandler and updatepanel?
I have a datagrid with linkbutton within the datagrid. When i click on link button there is no response. I have tried in different ways like
1. after data binding to the datagrid updatepanel1.Update()
2. AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="lnk1" EventName="Tick"
How to fire the linkbutton
I have 4 Image buttons on my user control and on the click of that Image button, I am opening new pop up window. I had used update panel but still it is refreshing the page. I don't want to refresh my page on the click.
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="SharePanel" runat="server">

I have an update panel with a set of 2 radio buttons, a label and an image button inside of it. There another set of 3 radio buttons that trigger the update panel. I got everything working but now the image button, label and set of 2 radio buttons inside the update panel show up twice when the radio button triggers are selected?

I've read quite a few posts here on this issue, but none of the solutions seem to be working for me.
I have a list box and a custom validator that is using a client side function to validate.
There is also a required field validator on the page.
Here's the markup:
[Code]....
So in any case, i should have an error message on the page and it should not post back, correct?

I have a project I'm working on, which is basically filling in a form online. The form contains multiple pages, and I have replicated this using a MultiView. On one of the pages I have a CustomValidator which validates a driving licence, based on names/previousnames and the date of birth.If the validation fails, I want to enter a link into the text, which will allow the user to click on it and correct the information that is erroneous.
View 3 RepliesI have one update panel inside updatepanel i have one dropdownlist .When i change dropdownlist value so as per value button1 which is out of updatepanel not visible =true or false as per dropdownlist value.
View 2 RepliesI have the following validation which is working fine for the rest of my fields, but trying to get a custom validator to work as part of the validation summary for a checkbox but no joy.
This is what I have at the moment
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function ValidateTandCs(source, args)
{
args.IsValid = document.getElementById('<%= optIn.ClientID %>').checked;
}
</script>
<asp:ValidationSummary CssClass="highlight"
id="ValidationSummary1"
HeaderText="<p>Please amend these errors below to continue with your
application.</p>" Runat="server" />
<asp:CheckBox id="optIn" runat="server"></asp:CheckBox> I agree to the terms and
conditions of this site and I wish to Opt In for registration.
<asp:CustomValidator ID="valTandCs" ClientValidationFunction="ValidateTandCs"
ValidationGroup="ValidationSummary1" runat="server"
ErrorMessage="Please accept Terms and Conditions before submitting.">
</asp:CustomValidator>
But when I click submit I only see the error messages for my other fields and nothing for this checkbox..
I am working on a custom form field validator, it seems like the custom validator is working by not allowing it to continue to the next page, but it doesn't update the Validation Summary nor does it display the asterisk and the labels that i've made visable. I also have other validators like RequiredFieldValidator on the same field. My ValidationGroup is set, as is the Text and IsValid. I even wrote and set a dummy client side validation method in javascript as some workarounds suggests.
here is the validation summary code in asp.net

Here is a code for my web form control
<asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="txtUsername"></asp:TextBox>

<asp:CustomValidator OnServerValidate="checkUsername" ID="CustomValidator1" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtUsername" EnableClientScript="true" ClientValidationFunction="checkUsername" ErrorMessage="CustomValidator"></asp:CustomValidator>
Client side validation
<script type="text/javascript">
function checkUsername(source,args){
alert("test");
/* alert(args.Value);

I'm new to the world of Update Panels and i'm having a hard time figuring out how to use them properly.
I have a form that has a table(TABLE1)...and inside TABLE1 i am linking to a sql data source....at the bottom of the table i have a 'Add' button.
When the user clicks the add button...a modal popup appears (POPUP1) and inside the POPUP1 the user can click a link that can add a user...when the link button is clicked...a panel within POPUP1 is set to visible = true.
I have one update panel around the whole table and the add button...when i click add and then click the link to add a user....the modal popup disappears.
I have two buttons on my page, the first page is View Button and the second is Update Button. View button display's member's personal profile. If I click on the view button, my custom validator automatically trigger, meaning, it automatically displays the error message. Whereas, the custom validator must trigger if I click on the Update button. How am be able to deal with this kind of problem.
View 6 RepliesI have 3 panels on single .aspx page and depending on condition required panel is displayed . Default panel is panel 1 .
View 5 RepliesI have a custom validator and some other validators on the page. But whenever I click the submit button for first time it only fires the custom validator and when I click the button for second time it's validating rest of the validators.
View 1 RepliesI've got two questions - first of all, why does .net render a javascript onclick event for asp buttons when there's a custom validator on the same page, and secondly, how can I get rid of the javascript?
It works fine when javascript is turned off, so I don't know what the point of it is. Here's a mini example:
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<asp:Button ID="Button1" OnClick="Button1_Click" Text="test" runat="server" />
<asp:CustomValidator ID="CustomValidator1" runat="server"
OnServerValidate="Stuff_Validate" EnableClientScript="false">
</asp:CustomValidator>
</form>
This will generate the following html for the button:
<input type="submit" name="Button1" value="test" onclick="javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("Button1", "", true, "", "", false, false))" id="Button1" />
Without the custom validator, it's:
<input type="submit" name="Button1" value="test" id="Button1" />
I created my custom validator in one project, something like that:
[Code]....
he composite control in another project. I added a reference of the custom validator project to the composite control project. I have a textbox in a composite control and I would like to validate this textbox by the composite control I created. But how can I do that? How can I create the custom validator instance that is linked to the custom validator I created?
I have a Required field valadator with an update panel and the following settings, also the sql to populate the ddl is at the bottom. I am looking at code I have in another website that works and its pretty much the same.
<td style="background: #dddddd; height: 19px">
<asp:DropDownList
ID="ddlFundno2" runat="server" Width="270px" />
<cc1:ListSearchExtender ID="lseFundno2" runat="server"
TargetControlId="ddlFundno2" />
</td>
<td style="width: 5px">
<asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="reqPFN2" runat="server"
ControlToValidate="ddlFundno2"
ErrorMessage=" fund number is required"
InitialValue=""
Display="Dynamic"
SetFocusOnError="True">*
</asp:RequiredFieldValidator>
</td>
SELECT 0 as FundNo , '' as Display
UNION
SELECT DISTINCT [FundNo]
,CAST([FundNo] as Varchar(50)) + '-' + [FundName] Display
FROM [dbo].[Funds]
ORDER BY [FundNo]
richtext not wroking in update panel.
View 1 RepliesI have two nested UpdatePanle and a button and an editor in parent panel and a GridView in child panel.
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:Button ID="btn_UsersList" runat="server" onclick="btn_UsersList_Click"
Text="users" />
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel2" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional">
<ContentTemplate>
<asp:GridView ID="GridView_UsersList" runat="server">
</asp:GridView>
</ContentTemplate>
<Triggers>
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="btn_UsersList" EventName="Click" />
</Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
<FCKeditorV2:FCKeditor ID="FCKeditor_Message" runat="server"
BasePath="~/fckeditor/"></FCKeditorV2:FCKeditor>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
I'd like to update the child panel when click button but don't update the parent UpdatePanel.
On my page i have a set of control containing parts of a form, like textboxes, checkboxes etc. I use those parts to build controls that I use in pages. For example:
UserAddToList.ascx
<asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" >
<sikt:PartFormTextboxLine runat="server" ID="samAccountName" />
<sikt:PartFormTextBoxLine runat="server" ID="name" />
<sikt:PartFormButtonLine runat="server" ID="addButton" UseSubmitBehavior="true" />
</asp:Panel>
PartFormButtonLine ascx:
<div>
<asp:Button ID="Button" runat="server" onclick="Button_Click" />
</div>
What I then want to do is to set the behavior of Panel1 to have a default button in the addbutton control. I have tried setting the Panel 1 default button to the botton in formbutonline like this: Panel1.DefaultButton = addButton.Button.UniqueID; in Page_load, but that does not work because .net throws this error: The DefaultButton of 'Panel1' must be the ID of a control of type IButtonControl. Now the button is public, so that should be ok. I have also tried ID and ClientID, with te same results. I have also tried to implement the IbuttonControl in PartFormButtonLine and map the implemented functions to the button
functions, which, as expected did not work. (Panel1.DefaultButton = addButton.ID) The problem as far as I can tell is that I cant seem to set the
"onkeypress="javascript:return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, 'MainContent_UserAddToList_addButton')"
of the container div to the correct value, onkeypress="javascript:return WebForm_FireDefaultButton(event, 'MainContent_UserAddToList_addButton_Button')" Everything else works, this is the last thing that needs to be fixed.. Idealy i want to fix this in the PartFormButtonLine file, as that would be better for reuse {update: removed quite abit of clutter in the ascx snippets}
