Web Forms :: Display Generic Error Page When Uploaded File Exceeds Limit

May 7, 2015

Below is the code for "Upload" button when uploading any file:

if (contenttype != String.Empty) {
if (File.Exists(Server.MapPath("~/Folder/'" + Txt.Text + "'/") + filename)) {
LMsg.Visible = true;
LMsg.ForeColor = Color.Red;
LMsg.Text = "File name '" + filename + "' already exist. Please change the File name to save this file";

[Code] ....

File upload control allows maximum file size is 4MB. If file size increase to 4MB it shows error page like "the page can not displayed".

I want to increase the size of uploaded files to max 10 MB not more than that. If file size increase to 10MB, it should show message.

A Generic Error Occurred In GDI+ While Saving The File?

May 12, 2010

When I enter the full hard disk path as a parameter of the method Image.Save, I get no error and the file is being saved on the desired location. But I want the image saved inside Web project folder of the application so I use this code:

myImage.Save(Server.MapPath("SomeApp.Web/report.png"), System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Png);

and then I get the following error. Logically, this path is OK, so why error?! PS. myImage is of type System.Drawing.Image.

I haven't set any limit on Virtual Memory.why the cache is getting cleared even when the Private memory used is below the allocated memory?

Web Forms :: How To Display The Uploaded Image On The Webpage

Aug 22, 2010

Does anyone know how to display the uploaded image onto the webpage after the image has been uploaded via the asyncfileupload control?

I tried setting the value of an imageurl property of an image control within the OnUploadComplete event however it seems the code 1st refreshes the page, runs through the Page_Load event, then finally the OnUploadComplete, so I'm assuming since it's run last, this is why it doesn't display the imageurl.

Display Asp MSChart / File Error Could Not Load File Or Assembly 'sstchur.web.survey'?

Dec 17, 2010

I've add MSChart to a webpage and I'm also using a Survey page I got from 4GuysFromRolla (http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/061604-1.aspx). Both work on my development machine but when I move them to my hosting site there are issues.

With MSChart page the chart is not displayed although it's included the Page Source code:
src="/ClubInformationTracking/ChartImg.axd?i=chart_3d90c53b0f844807a2491a1d79a636a1_0.png&g=75fecf0f14cf4121b623691d383263aa" alt="" style="height:300px;width:700px;border-width:0px;" />

And when I try to open the Survey page I get this:Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'sstchur.web.survey' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Source Error:
<%@ Register TagPrefix = "sstchur" Namespace = "sstchur.web.survey" Assembly = "sstchur.web.survey" %>
<%@ Page Language = "C#" %>

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'sstchur.web.survey' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftFusion!EnableLog].

The Hosting site is using Version 4.0 and the dll needed for the survey is in the BIN directory.

When I moved my files to the hosting site I had to change every instance when I referred to a file from:
"~/FileName"
To
"FileName"

I've tried all of the "fixes" I could find for the MSChart that involved changes to the web.config file but because of the error messages associated with the Survey page I'm guessing this is the issue.

How To Send Status Code "500" For Generic Error Page In IIS

Aug 18, 2010

I am using a generic error page using ASP.NET's <customErrors> directive.

<customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="500.html" redirectMode="ResponseRewrite">
</customErrors>

Problem - when an error occurs, this page does not return HTTP status "500". It comes as 200. So link checkers and spiders do not see that there is any problem.

How can I send the 500 HTTP status along with the static 500.html page?

Requirements:

I must use redirectMode="ResponseRewrite" I can't use a dynamic page, only static .html.
