<asp:FileUpload ID="FileUpload1" runat="server" />Â

I have a page which displays details and a pictures of employees. The details are stored in a SQL database and the images are on the server. How can I set a default Image to display (e.g. an Image saying "Awaiting Image") if an employee picture is missing?
I can't use NullImageUrl as the Images are not stored in the database. I can't use the solution found on [URL] as an ImageField does not accept an ID attribute.

I have a routine to display an image on an aspx page. The url for the image uses imagerender.aspx . This is simply an empty page with code behind:
myClass mysub = new Myclass(); // create class
Stream strm = mysub.DisplayImage(UserID); // call method to load bytes from db
byte[] buffer = new byte[2048];
int byteSeq = strm.Read(buffer, 0, 2048);
while (byteSeq > 0)
{
Context.Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, byteSeq);
byteSeq = strm.Read(buffer, 0, 2048);
}
Ok, this work fine when testing on my local machine, but when I move it to the live server, it comes up with an empty image box!
It looks like there must be a problem with security, maybe with ISS.
Does anyone know what changes I can make to fix this problem or what setting to change in IIS 7?

I have a webpage that contains a FileUpload control and 1 <asp:Image> control. I've selected the image using the FileUpload control. When I click on the Upload button, it looks like it fills the image control because I've styled the image with borders...they show up but the image won't. I have attached my code below.
Code:
Protected Sub Page_Load(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Try
If Page.IsPostBack Then
If FileUpload1.HasFile Then
divProfile.Style("display") = "block"
img1.ImageUrl = Session("filePath")
img1.Style("display") = "block"
End If

I've got:
<asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink2" runat="server" NavigateUrl='<%# "PropertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=" & Eval("propertyId").tostring %>'><asp:Literal ID="Image1" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("imageId", "<img src=""images/properties/{0}_thumb") %>' /><asp:Literal ID="Image2" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("imageFormat", "{0}"" alt="""">") %>' /></asp:hyperlink>
which displays an image from my db.
However, if there is not an image - e.g. if my property record doesn't have any images associated with it, I would like to display a default thumbnail.
