Is there any good control or plug-in for uploading multiple photos with preview? As far as I understand it is impossible to preview photo on local computer using just JavaScript. So it has to use Flash or Java.
View 2 RepliesI am building an upload page for photos, and would like to preview the image once uploaded. I have looked at a few posts but have not quite reached a working solution.

I have a fileupload control in a contentplaceholder in a masterpage. I have to preview the image whenever I browse an image beside it in an imagecontrol.
My application is running on a different server .So I can't give the filepath of my local system.
Also I don't want to store the image in any location and i'm not supposed to use any session variable to pass it to generic handler.
In my application I store a string as content of a html file.
How can I preview this content (assuming that it's modified from original content) in browser but not having to save it local.
Update And the preview to be in another tab or window.

View 3 RepliesI have to implement an image upload functionality in asp.net. The method I have followed works like this :-
Submit a form containing an <input type='file'> element and set the target of the form to a named iframe[to give the impression of a Ajax request/response ]. The aspx file which this form is posted to, writes the image into the response as Reponse.Write("<img src='location'/>"); The image displayed is due for cropping (where i plan to use JCrop).
What I would like to know is : Is there another way to display the image in a <div> may be, rather than in an iframe which I think is far better than this approach.
i am using Asynchronous file upload in model pop up control . i want to show the uploaded image's preview wthin the modelpopup after the upload is completed. anyone tell me how i can do it

View 3 RepliesCombing the web for a simple file uploader for ASP.NET with a server side save and preview capability didn't reveal anything simple, and I noticed a lot of people were struggling to get something too.I figured this example out today. It uses existing techniques and is simple. Downside is that you have to use session for the temporary store, and the Ajax AsyncFileUpload usess session too.Written in VS 2010 - I hope you find it useful. This is the basic working code - that should easily be exandable even for more demanding requirements such as Repeater controls etc.

So I'm working on a site that is going to need a file upload control where the user would be able to upload an image, and then the page would postback causing the image to appear for their viewing (before they submit the data to the database, the image is being stored as type image). What I do now is have my own private web form where people send me their image, I format it accordingly and use the following simple code to upload it:
byte[] newimage = fileUpImgFile.FileBytes;
var myDataTable = (from item in context.TypeSet where item.Number == txtBxNumber.Text.Trim() select item).ToList();
foreach (Type item in myDataTable)
{
item.Photo = newimage;
}
context.SaveChanges();
Which works, but in this case, it would only work if the record exists already in the database so the person would have to save the data, then go back in and upload the image (inconvenient and inefficient). Is there a way to upload it, store it in memory, and then display it, without saving it to the database?
We have a scenario where we would like to allow our users to upload images to the site. We are running on ASP.Net. A quick search did not result in anything good. It would be great if the control is free/open source but we do not mind paying a little bit.

I need to be able to have a user upload an excel file, then immediately work with that file and save the contents in a database.
I know how to do this if I save the file first, then open it using OleDB, BUT I would rather not save it first.
