On a typical form you have some fields and submit button. What event do I use to retrieve the values of the form from the post , process the forms submit?
How can I add page events to the code behind file (.cs file)?
i am using VS 2010. while i am double click a button or text box the corresponding event does not generate in code behine file (*.aspx.cs file) rather it is inlined with the .aspx page within the tag <script runat="server">

I am working solo on an Asp.net/C# project created by someone in the past. I created two new web forms, and then built the prjocect and did the deploy using a TFS team build project. For some strange reason, my Aspx file is not getting copied to the destination DEV server. It does get copied to a temp folder on that server, but in the end, the team build is failing and not copying over the new Aspx file.
So until I figure out how to fix the team build script, is their a way to just copy the Aspx file out to the desired server location? That as well as copying out a dll which is associated with the build file?
I have an asp.net application. I want to add a global.asax and global.asax.cs file to my project. In the IDE when I select to create a new global.asax file, the option to create a CS code behind file is greyed out. When the global.asax file is created, no code behind is created, instead code is placed in the global.asax file and the global.asax.cs file is never created? Why is the option for a C# code behind file greyed out?

I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.
I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ?
Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.

View 2 RepliesI Simply drag a button from the toolbar onto a new page with a master page and a title, double click it so that I enter the Button1_Click function and sets a breakpoint and add some random code. The breakpoint nor the code never fires. I've tried this on several different pages and controllers, but with the same results: The page reloads, but no code is run. I Have Tried:
Ive tried with three different webbrowsers with all plugins disabled. I've tried to turn of Causes Validation, - Nothing changes. I've tried to clean and Rebuild the project, - Still nothing. I've tried to create a whole new project, -Does'nt work there either. Other Information: A RadioButtonList OnDatabound Event works, but whenever i try to do a Button or ImageButton click event the code for the event never fires. Ive programmed several webapplications in other versions of visual studio and ASP.NET but I have never encountered this problem before.
Breakpoints work in other parts of the code and the compile settings is set to DEBUG.

View 8 RepliesI have a script written in PHP that does a number of things. I do not want to have to rewrite this in ASP.NET. I wanted to know if anyone knew how I can just call the PHP file from the code behind page after a button is clicked.
I cannot use javascript because things need to be added to the database and need to be successful in the function before I can call this php file. I do not need any of the php code to show up, I just need the php file to run and I need to add a parameter to the end of the URL.

I keep getting this error. I put the correct namespaces in, and enabledSessionState = true to my application files, but no luck.
Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration><system.web><httpModules> section in the application configuration.

View 2 RepliesI am downloading file from database using the following code. This code downloads an excel file from the database which has a macro attached to it when it is opened. This macro reads file name of the excel file and uses it for its computation. Everthing works file if user saves the file on his harddisk and then open if but if he directly opens the file from the dialog(by hitting 'Open' button) then file name of the opened excel file comes out be the name of the webform that has the above code and this leads to error in the macro. Is there any option through which i can control the name of the file if user directly opens the file from dialog or the option to disable or remove 'Open' button form the dialog?

I have a website that contains several aspx pages linked to a single aspx.vb code behind file. Four of these aspx pages have a single button on each (four total). My issue is handling each button's click event on each page using the single code behind file.

I've googled a bit for the exact order of all gridview events relative to and where inbetween page events. The only Microsoft article: [URL] is not very clear. I'm especially interested in the gridview row_command event relative to page events.
