I have a ListBox in a WebPart called 'WebPartSelect'. This WebPart appears on each webpage.
How do I pass the value selected from the ListBox to each other WebPartSelect webpart?
e.g. the ListBox has 3 values - a, b, c. The user select value b. When they visit another webpage I want the ListBox to be defaulted to their selection - 'b', and to display data relevant to this selection.
How to get the selected item from the listbox in the selected index changed event. I tried: Label1.Text = ListBox1.SelectedItem.Text; It is giving me object set to null reference.

I'm having trouble getting selected items in a listbox to be seen as selected. On my aspx page there's a listbox and a button:

But if I change my condition to Not selected, the string does build, with every item in the list. So the Sub is reached, the items and their text and values are seen, but user selection of items doesn't work. What am I missing?
I have created one sample application for WebParts. It is working fine when I run it from Visual Studio or local environment.
But when, I have publish file in IIS virtual directory (in my PC or same PC) at that time it is stop showing Verb tool bar (minimize, close buttons of WebPart).
I am trying to add the total of the items in my listbox . i have done this with my checkboxlist and it works no problem. When i try to add the total of my products in listbox i get 0.
Another thing i am trying to do with this project is. create a arraylist or list of product names and send them them to my exit.aspx so i can show the selected products at the exit page.
I used a Response.Redirect() to make a variable of customer status and pass it page to page I have it working for only the first page
I am new in sharepoint development. I have 2 webparts attached on a page. The first webpart (MyTestingWebpart1) basically it does only inserting of data and the other webpart (MyTestingWebpart[2]) displays the records from the database. Now my problem is when I try to click on the save button, somehow I don't know how to refresh the webpart that displays the newly inserted record. Is this possible?
I have added a query at the page load event of MyTestingWebPart[2]. Both of the webparts attached are web user controls.

Got a listbox set with Multiple selection. I want to get all the Selected values of that list box to use those values to later display into an email. Tried several ways but no luck and just got frustrated.

I have a listbox, i am binding it to a datatable with DataTextField and DataValueField. This is in WebForm (not windows).And the first item in ListBox is "Select All" and the rest are from DataTable.SelectAll is selected by default.1) If i select any other item...(as it is multiselect) the "select all" item should be unselected.2) If i select 5 items in ListBox and after that i select "Select All" items then all the other items except "Select All" item should be unselected.
I have built one of those 2 listbox things where the items in the left textbox can be selected and moved to the right list box. The items in the list can be thought of as tasks (like Raise Invoice, Call Client, Deliver goods etc) The rules of this are that the item you move to the right box remains in the left box. Reason being, you are allowed to add the same item from the left to right as many times as you like. An example what the list on the right might look like is this.
Now I have added the feature to select an item on the right and hit the UP button, to move it up in the list. For example I could select 'Deliver Goods' and hit the up button. (the down button works as expected)
My code that loops though and does the move relies on the item.selected property to find which on I have selected. (obviously)

Despite having the items at the bottom of the list selected, the .Selected property is true on the first instance of the item that happens to have the same .Text and .Value.
I have a asp.net web form in which I display registered customers in a listbox. In the listbox I can choose one customer, and click a "Show data"-button. That should display all registered data about the chosen customer in textboxes next to the listbox. This doesn't work and I haven't been able to find where the error lies. Instead of displaiyng the data in the textboxes the error message in: LabelNoCustomerChosen is displayed. Could it be that the program doesn't find the customer ID? The string that is displayed in the listbox looks like this: ID Lastname, Firstname
As you can see in the picture below i've got a Page control with inital letters which cotains a listbox showing different wood articles. When i click on a Tab, the selected tab page get's a new Listbox control with the wood articels starting with the selected initial letter.

When i click on a item inside the listbox, following code will be executed:

So far, it works fine for me. But when i change the selected Tabpage, the first SelectedIndexChanged in the listbox in the new shown tabpage is not recordnized. That means i have to select a new item and click on Search = the selected Item is still the item i selected before i changed the tab. Then i select the item again and click on search the index changed is recordnized. So why do i have to click two times on search to get the new selected item after a tab page changed?
I had used listbox control with multiple selection mode. I stored id with comma delimiter in database.
e.g.
1. List Item One. 2. List Item Two. 3. List Item Three. 4. List Item Four. 5. List Item Five. 6. List Item Six.
Suppose user select item 2, 4 & 6. So I will store it as a 2,4,6 in database. This will work fine.
Now in editing I have to shows selection-bar for item 2, item 4 & item 6. So I had typed below source.

But with this statement I got only last item id as a selected item with selectionbar. In our example 2,4,6 only item whoseid is 5 got as a selected item.

if the selected items are serial like 2,3,4 then it is displaying correctly..
if items are 2,4,6 then it is not selecting the items of listbox properly.
Is anybody guide me how to make item 2, item 4, item 5 as a selected item ?
