i am working with a gridview and created it in following way:
[Code]....
Now i want to remove the Select, Edit and Delete link buttons in the last columns for a particular row. It should remain as it is for other rows. Only linkbutton from a particular row(being determined from data key) is to be removed.
How do I reference the delete button to add the delete confirmation box when I have both the Edit and Delete buttons as the last two columns in the Gridview control. The following code works fine without any issues when I have the delete button only:
protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType != DataControlRowType.DataRow) return; int lastCellIndex = e.Row.Cells.Count - 1; Button db = (Button)e.Row.Cells[lastCellIndex].Controls[0]; db.OnClientClick = "if (!window.confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this record?')) return false;"; }
But, when I have both the Edit and the Delete buttons, I get the following error when I click the edit button while the delete button works fine.
Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index
How do I reference the delete button so the edit button is not affected in this case?
Using "Enable Delete" from Gridview control, I can delete (besides, update, sort, paging, etc) data from the database (this is done automatically). However, how can I delete the actual image that resides in my image folder (i.e. from "pix" folder )? What is the best way to delete image? If using code behind, how? Please write a full code for me. Here is my source code.
An error occurred during the processing of . System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataControlFieldCollection must have items of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataControlField'. 'SharePoint:DeleteItemButton' is of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.DeleteItemButton'.
I have a gridview with edit and delete parameters enabled. When I click on the edit link, I can edit the record successfully. However when I click on the delete link, nothing happens (the record does not get deleted).
I am having problem with rowdatabound, want to add if conditions intact, i am using teh following two if conditions and they don't look right. i found them on google.
If e.Row.RowState = DataControlRowState.Normal Or e.Row.RowState = DataControlRowState.Alternate Then end if If e.Row.RowState = DataControlRowState.Edit Or e.Row.RowState = 5 Then end if
With datagrids i use these and they work excellent:
If e.Item.ItemType = System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListItemType.Item OrElse e.Item.ItemType = System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListItemType.AlternatingItem Then end if.....
U are caching a list of items, then Add or update or delete method called. Approach 1)
A- Do the data change at the database. If success do B, C B- Remove the entire list from the Cache. C- Re-Cache the list on first read.
Approach 2)
A- Do the data change at the database, If success do B B- Do the same change at the cached items, and save more time.
Approach(2) probably will cause nasty difficult to spot bugs, because the data come from BLL and placed directly into cache, One can't assume no bugs will happen at the sproc, I am not worry about database runtime errors, runtime errors will show up, but I am worry about invalid data, or miss calculation. Can I proceed with approach (2) with caution? Is there a "best practice" principle which suggest not doing approach(2)?
I have a Gridview (VS2008 3.5) which has a Edit Button and a Delete button.he Delete button deletes the row without confirming deletion with the user first. ow can I use the Confirm/Delete Confirm from Ajax Toolkitif possible and if not, is there a way to Confirm/Delete with user firstwhen using Gridview?

I have an Events table and an InstallmentPlans table. The relationship is 0..1 : an Event can have 0 or 1 Installment plans. If I want to remove the existing InstallmentPlan for an event, how do I do this? Setting it to null doesn't seem to work:
I have created a javascript to show hover colour and selected row in different colour in a gridview but when i select another row the previous row also still in the same selected row colour how to remove that.
I am using the following but want to remove grView, is it possible. this is used in gridview rowdatabound event handler.
If e.Row.RowState = DataControlRowState.Normal Or e.Row.RowState = DataControlRowState.Alternate Then Dim item As GridViewRow = e.Row Dim grView As DbDataRecord = DirectCast(item.DataItem, DbDataRecord) [code]...
I need to remove certian rows from the Gridview so that certian users can't see certian rows. I have a row databoud event that checks for certian fields in the row and disables the entire row based on the value of those fields. However, it dosen't work well because if my gridview has 20 or 30 rows I have paging so if it disables all but 2 rows the user has to click in the pages of the entire gridview until they reach that row.
BroughtForward and Pending both columns contain hyperlink values. When we click the values then another page opens with the details. I don't want to open another page if user click 0 in any column or in other words how to remove hyperlink if there is 0 in any cell?
I created a GridView that uses a custom paging method that allows for alphabetical paging. I seem to be having some problems now rebinding the GridView after a delete occurs. The row is deleted, it's just that the rebinding doesn't happen so to the user it looks like the delete failed. Been over and over my code and can't understand why. See the final block which is supposed to fire on the GridView1_ItemDeleted event.
I want use Delete and Edit button in my gridview that when user click on delete button it delete the content of row or if they click on edit button they can edit selected row.
