Now this works fine but I really want to just have the one parameter of role and not require the page to pass itself into the method. Is there a way of finding the object that called the method and casting it to a System.Web.UI.Page?

Dec 7, 2010I've inherited a half completed application that seems to use a model that I'm not sure can reliably work.It is a ASP.NET webservice that on each call loads a unmanaged C++ .DLL using

public static extern int LoadLibrary( string lpLibFileName );.
[DllImport(@"MyUnamanagedDLL.dll")]
public static extern string DoStuff( );
In the unmanaged C++ .dll it is using a singleton to hold state between calls.This is so that it only has to initialise once and load a bunch of slow stuff from disk and database rather than on each webservice call as this is too slow.

Feb 14, 2011I was just wondering, let's say I created a Method that is in a partial class in App_Code, and this Method would replace the same type of Method that would otherwise be in many files, and so, since it would be called from many files and would probably be called and used very frequently especially because of this. Would this overload this class? I'm not saying what would most likely happen, I'm just asking if it would be even remotely possible?

C# - Delete Some Class Files In Visual Studio, But Calling Them Still Works?
Mar 15, 2011I am not sure if this is a problem with visual studio, but I had some class files that I deleted, but I can still call them in my code. Also I can call a .edmx i created, but I cant see it in my folder, i tried rebuilding my solution, cleaning it, rerunning it, checking source files. Its also causing a lot of my classes to have this error:Missing partial modifier on declaration of type 'MatchGaming.Models.MyProfile'; another partial declaration of this type exists I already tried adding partial and it i just get a bunch of errors everywhere else saying that a lot of my variables already contain a definition, almost like theres a duplicate class stuck in the cache or something.

Nov 18, 2010I have created a simple ASP.NET Website in Visual Studio 2008. I have a static C# class (lets call it someClass) contained in a separate file in the App_Code folder. I call a method from that class in my page's code behind like so:
someVar = someClass.someMethod(someParam);
This compiles correctly in VS 2008 but when I move it over to my IIS server, I get the following error (CS0103): Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately. Compiler Error Message: CS0103: The name 'someClass' does not exist in the current context I have created a virtual directory for this website enabling 'Read', 'Run scripts (such ASP)', and 'Execute (such as ISAPI applications or CGI)'. I am not currently utilizing namespaces (as I thought I would not need to and I'm not sure how to use them properly). What am I doing wrong?

Web Forms :: Calling A Page And Getting The Result In The Calling Page?
Jan 3, 2011I've a question I don't know if this is possible or not. I've tried a lot of things till now but could not accomplish on what I wanted to do.
What I want to do is call a web page from another page and some how execute either the page load event or page init event and get the result of the page in the first page.
Page A calls page B. Page B has static text and a label which is being set in page load event.
Page B - Code behind
