I have a ASP.NET Login Control with Forms authentication.Even after successful Login it does not redirects to destination page. But it uses returnURL and stays at same Login page. How to make Login Control to redirect to specified destination page?
I am using visual stuido 2010 and vb. I am trying to direct users to one of three different pages upon sign in, depending on their role. Basically I have three roles: administrators, dealers, and customers And three respective destination page urls: admin/default.aspx, dealer/default.aspx, and customers/default.aspx. Everything I can find in the forums is in C. So far I have nothing, so I guess I'm asking someone to write the whole sub for me. I wish I was more proficient, but I'm working on it.
want to use ligh box effect like i have login control and i want to show login control in ligh box effect so its like if i open on login link login control wil show and same time we can control click anywhere in page ??
I have a site on which members can select from a list of links (from a ListView in profiles.aspx) in order to view details of another site member (in profile_detail.aspx), using this code:
profiles.aspx and profiles.aspx.vb: [Code].... [Code]....
I would like to do the following tasks but need coaching:From a completely different page (in other words, not from profiles.aspx this time), the user clicks on a photo of a site member; the program picks up the UserID associated with the photo from a database table and saves it to a session variable; completely bypasses the profiles.aspx page; goes directly to profile_detail.aspx and displays the correct person.
My problem: I don't how to bypass clicking the link on profiles.aspx.In other words, I want to go directly to profile_detail.aspx and apply the UserID session variable in displaying the person who matches that UserID. You could say that I need to programmatically "click a link" found inprofiles.aspx.
So this code seems to be coming working flawlessly to send this email. But the email is not getting to it's destination. Basiclly this is a simple code to send an email from a form and I am missing something because it is not throwing any errors it is just not sending the email. So here is the code .

we have windows xp operating system, here we installed my website that will be stored in the location(c://programFiles/) if we run the sample after executing ouputfile(scan.pdf)image file will be stored in C://inetpubs/ftproot/(if file transfer type is FTP). if file transfer type is HTTP then the image file is transfered to the location:c://programFiles/website1/app-data. If we install the same website in windows 2007 64 bit os website will be stored at c://programfile x(86)/. if we run the sample through ftp it is running fine and file is stored at FTP folder. but if we run the same application through HTTP, file is not transferring to destination folder(c://programFiles x(86)/website1/app-data.)
Looking at the asp.net v4 URL Routing it's easy to see how to access routing data from basically anywhere in the app.
Unfortuantely the Route data always is blank by the time i hit the page on my v 3.5 implementation of routing. I was wondering if there was any way to either pass the route values to the final page so i can use them there - i really don't want additional logic in my handler file and i have loads of Routes and don't want many RouteHandlers.
I have a form where I have a DDL which needs to be populated with lookup values from table 1. Once the user selects a value from the DDL (from table 1), I want to be able to write that selection to table 2, along with a load of other things. As an example, if we have a lookup table called tblDepartment like so:
which I use to populate my DDL, and then I have a form linked to a table containing employee details called tblEmployees like so:
How do I link (bind?) the Department selected from tblDepartment into tblEmployees?
I have an interesting challenge. My application uses a third party's services and one of the functions is to upload video files to Amazon S3. The current solution I've implemented uses a simple form with a POST action set to a URL on Amazon's system. The issue I have is that because the form posts to Amazon, I have no way of doing any type validations before the user clicks to upload the file i.e. checking file type, file size, etc.
However, I really do NOT want to set up my logic so that the file is first uploaded to my server then to Amazon because these are huge files and we'll end up using costly bandwidth on both ends -- our server and Amazon S3.
P.S. To be perfectly honest, I'm not that pleased with the current solution where it's a simple HTML form with a simple post to Amazon. However, because Amazon is so picky about all the hidden fields in my asp.net page, I had to strip everything off the page -- including form runat"server" because the minute I have this, I end up with a hidden field for ViewState -- even if I completely turn off ViewState. There's always something left as a hidden field and Amazon was generating an error because of this.
Ideally, I'd love to be able to do an HttpWebRequest in code behind so that I can have the functions of a web form back and do some pre-upload work but I'm not sure how to upload the file to a remote destination without putting the file on my server first.
I am doing a simple secured site using the login control. I would like users to be redirected to their dashboard page once they log in, but after that if they choose to browse I do NOT want them redirected based on their login status. I am using the generic template provided in VWD with the basic login setup in the template including the tabbed ASP menu control - nothing fancy, nothing custom. This is intended to be something very simple and quick. Here is the code I am using for the page load...
So if I do this code WITHOUT the "IsPostBack", logged in users are always redirected to their dashboard and cannot see the hompage. However with that IsPostBack test, the redirect after initial login doesn't work.
I know this is extremely basic and simple, but I am restarting with this stuff after a year away, and I need a nudge.
While i was using asp.net2.0 login control on IIS6.0 (WINDOWS SERVER2003) ON INTRANET FOR Login it shows login failed even it was working right on asp.net development server. i was using asp.net membership provider for this
currently I have a website with authentication using Microsoft.IdentityModel.Web.WSFederationAuthenticationModule. It redirects me to login page (single sign-on outside my website) and upon login, I am redirected to default page.
Now, when I was using CreateUserWizard asp.net control, it seems that upon creation of user, the control tried to use my machine name to login to db server (i.e. '$') instead of using SSO login which has just been done.
Does anybody know how to customize the control to use federation login to connect to db server? In addition, how to set so that the control will use certain specified sql account to login to db server?
I have finally gotten the login control configured to work in debug mode, but when I try it from a web page, I get the following error: Cannot open user default database. Login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE'.
The connection to the main SQL Server database works fine, as do all other functions. Just no login.
I created following custom log in control and it redirects user to default.aspx after logging in.I'm not exactly sure where I can specify Destination Page Url.When I logg in, I would like to stay in same page instead of default.aspx. ---- code behind ------
Protected Sub login_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles login.Click If Membership.Providers("custMembershipProvider").ValidateUser(Username.Text, Password.Text) Then FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(Username.Text, Rememberme.Checked)
I've wasted two hours of sleep on a stupid problem. I have an excel 2003 file (xls) that I'd like to import into a table in Sql Server 2008 Express edition. I've done this before, but I can't remember how it's done really. Here's the problem: When I start DTS, I set the excel file as the "data source" and click Next. Now I'm supposed to name/point to the mdf file, but how do I do that? The only thing that appears in the "Server name" text field is the computer's nameSQLEXPRESS, but the mdf file is of course residing in the web site's folder. Also, what should I choose in the "Destination" drop down menu: SQL Server Native Client 10, Micorsoft OLE DB Provider for SqlServer, or what? Regardless of what I choose, I don't find my mdf file in the "Database" drop down menu below . What am I doing wrong? I imagine it's really easy!
I'm trying to implement URL Rewriting into my existing application and have managed to get the page and links working except that my destination page does not get the query string values.Mycde is based on the example below: http://dotnetguts.blogspot.com/2008/07/url-rewriting-with-urlrewriternet.htmlBasically I have a default.aspx page with links to another page; directory_item.aspx?Item_Id=1&Category_Id=1 directory_item.aspx?Item_Id=2&Category_Id=1 and so on... The code in my web config is as follows;
I am having a web form initially which have href as follows
<a href="downloadInfo.aspx">ACH File Management System Trail(msi)</a> <a href="downloadInfo.aspx">ACH File Management System Trail(zip)</a>
These are my two anchor tags when i click on this i will redirect both to a same page where user has to fill details and a mail will be send to the user for the given mail id. When the user clicks on mail i would like to have the download for which he opted to download. If msi means i would like to prompt msi file to be downloaded and if zip it should be downloaded I need this to be worked with out using query-string
I'm trying to extend the functionality of an ASP.net application that I'm working with. For its logon page, it uses an html form to post to a dll to handle it's login logic. I'm wondering if there is any way to redirect that html POST to my C# code so that I can do some processing and then (and this is the part that I haven't figured out yet) POST it to the dll so that the regular logon logic can continue. I can make changes to the logon page, but the final step must be to do an HTML POST to the dll. I can't change that.
I have created a user control to hold a login control and a password recovery control... both are in a mulitview... there is a login button when fired would load the login controls view.. and there is a link button in the login control when fired would show the password recovery view...Is there a way to get this to sit on the page without out having everything on my page move down went it opens ? i have been fighting with the ModalPopupExtender however this is limited too as setting the position does not function as i would like and having
