Web Forms :: Can Upload A File On A Network Share Folder Using File Upload Control
I want to upload files to the web servers from the client machines.
Can i upload a file on a network share folder using file upload control?
I would like to create a share folder on a file server sitting next to the web server. If i upload the file from the network share folder instead of uploading it from the client machine does it make any difference?
Will the file be stored in a temporary location before copying to the final destination? Where will be the file stored in this case of uploading it from share folder?

Web Forms :: Large File Upload Control - Saving File In Small Chunks
I know there are a ton of packages already made to get around the problem with uploading very large files. I am needing this functionality on one of my new projects but this time, instead of using something like NeatUpload or ASPUpload, I want to creat my own. I have not been able to find any info on doing this yourself, only links to pre made packages. Can anyone provide me with any info to get me started. Specifically how to handle saving the file in small chunks to a /temp/.

Web Forms :: Viewing A File Uploaded Using The File Upload Control?
I have seen different tutorials on how to upload multiple files onto a server. My question is that the tutorials that I have seen they don't show the .doc, .gif etc as a link. However, I can't find any tutorial that would explain how to view the actual document once the file is uploaded. I'm using ASP.NET VB not C#
I'm trying to create a page where:
A. User can upload a file onto a server.
B. Once the file is uploaded it will display the name of the file, and how many bites it has.
C. User can click on the link of the uploaded file and it will take them to that document.

Use The Upload Control To Upload A File To The Database?
I am trying to use the upload control to upload a file to the database. It works just fine with one exception...I can't get the full pathname of the file the user selects. I browse to a folder several subfolders deep and select a file. The edit box shows the full path and filename. However, in code, I'm trying to set that value to a string variable:
string sFilename = FileUpload1.PostedFile.FileName;
I've also tried:
string sFilename = FileUpload1.FileName;
Both times, my variable has only the filename, not the full path + filename. I'm running .NET 3.5 under Visual Studio 2008 on Windows Vista Ultimate. Funny thing is, it works fine on XP professional

Web Forms :: File Upload Control Does Not Have The File
I have a form where the user clicks on browse of the file upload control and selects a file. Then when they click submit the control thinks they havn't selected a file when they have. This only happens on the production server. Test server and development environment both work perfectly. It's a C# ASP.NET web app running on a Windows 2003 Server os. Here is a piece of the server side code, everytime the event fires and the FileUpload1 checks the HasFile property it is returning false even if the user selects a file:
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
lblResult.Visible = false;

Web Forms :: File Upload - Posted File Is Nothing?
I am using VS-2005.
In my website I have used the html input control with type=file.
The problem is that when I place this control inside an 'UpdatePanel' the 'PostedFile' property becomes 'Nothing' on postback. So in order to get things working I have removed the 'UpdatePanel' and things are working fine.
However, I am interested to know what kind of workaround is required if I were to use an 'UpdatePanel'? In one of the threads here I found that we need to set a 'PostBackHandler' for the update panel. I have no idea how to implement this. Does it refer to 'AsyncPostbackTrigger' or 'SyncPostBackTrigger'?
