Sep 27, 2010

Preserve Scrolling Position On Panel On Postback

Jan 11, 2010

I have a panel inside an update panel. The panel has a scrollbar. When a control inside the panel is clicked, the scrollbar resets, scrolling the panel back to the top. Is there a simple way to preserve the scrolling position of a panel inside and update panel when a postback happens from inside that panel?

Aug 4, 2010

I have two grids on a page that seem to always be position:fixed.I want them to scroll with the page when an overflow scrollbar appears on the body. The grids however ALWAYS stay in the same place and don't scroll with the rest of the page content.Is there any way to get an UltraWebGrid to be relative and scroll up the page with the rest of the page's content?This seems to work in IE6 but not in IE8.

Javascript - Window Scrolling Button Control - Rendering To Normal Position

Nov 9, 2010

In web application, i tried scrolling the window vertically by increasing a y axis height to 500 with a javascript that is attached to OnClientClick event of a asp.net button control with id Button1. The script i have used is

<script language="JavaScript">
function scrollToWindow()
{
window.scrollTo(0,500);
}
</script>

and the button code is as follows

<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server"
Text="Scroll to bottom" OnClientClick="scrollToWindow()" />

If i run this page and click that button, the page scroll is not working properly. when i put alert inside that script and debug, i found that the page is actually scrolling to 0,500 but again its rendering to its normal position because of some reasons. Overcome this issue and let me know the reason behind that?

Scrolling - JQuery Technique To Select All The Page Controls/divs With A Non-zero Scrollbar Position?

Sep 9, 2010

Is there a jQuery technique to select all the page controls/divs with a non-zero scrollbar position?

I'm trying to solve a problem faced by many; essentially after a partial asp.net postback all the controls/divs that had a scrollbar with a non-zero value (ie: were scrolled down to some position) are reset to the zero (top of the scrollbar).

My approach is to have a jQuery script save all the scrollbar positions for all the controls/divs contained on a page and after the postback, restore all the scroll bar positions.Is it possible, can it even work? If it is, how do I use jQuery to select all the divs with scrollbars and then save those positions.

Forms Data Controls :: Trying To Create A Nested Gridview, But I'm Stuck At The Editing/deleting Part Of The Nested Gridview?

Mar 1, 2011

I'm trying to create a nested gridview, but I'm stuck at the editing/deleting part of the nested gridview. (Below is my code).The nested gridviews are filling out nice, I've set the DeleteParameter in the SQLDataSource, but I'm still getting this error when trying to delete a criteria: 'The Gridview 'gvCriteria' fired event RowDeleting which wasn't handled.'I've tried to create a method 'gvCriteria_RowDeleting', but that didn't seem to work out.Someone who can give me a piece of advice? Would it be possible to fill the gridview without using gvDomain_rowDataBound? Dries

Forms Data Controls :: Looking For Clean Approach To Building Nested Datalist Or Nested Gridview

Jun 17, 2010

Is there a better, cleaner way to do this in ASP.NET 2.0?

An ASP.NET 2.0 page displays a datalist of records. Each record can have many dates, so the dates are in a nested gridview (I chose a gridview over a datalist here because we want to be able to delete a date and this is easier done in a gridview). The parent record can never be deleted.

The display works fine: the nested gridview gets its datasource during the parent datalist's OnItemDataBound event.

The problem: the nested gridview's delete function. The date gets deleted without a problem (handled in the OnRowDeleting event), but somehow the redisplay is untying all the other nested gridviews from their datasources. The delete does not appear to cause a page postback, so I don't know how the other nested gridviews are losing their datasources.

Data Controls :: Hide Child Nested GridView In Multilevel Nested GridView If No Data Or Empty

Dec 5, 2013

In Nested Grid, we get a '+' sign.   The problem is that '+' sign appears all times, even if there are no child records for that row. 1. Can we enable/disable OR Hide/Unhide '+' sign. depending on if child rows exits.2. OR alteast we can put some bgcolor indicating to user that this record do have child rows. Without any indicator user may feel quite annoying to click on '+' sign and nothing happens.

Forms Data Controls :: Jerky Scrolling In IE8 Using Large Gridview?

Feb 28, 2011

ASP.NET 3.5,I'm upgrading a page that currently uses classic asp and xslt to display about 2000 readonly tabular records. Please leave aside the issue of whether this is a good idea or not.My asp.net replacement page uses a gridview to do the same thing.The scrolling in IE8 using this old code is very smooth and even. The scrolling using the asp.net page is horribly jerky. I can't figure out why - there doesn't appear to be much client side code running.Any clues welcome as this is a high traffic page that I want to look as good as possible.The same page also can't handle a row highlighter - same reason slow and jerky.

Forms Data Controls :: Using Panel Control For Scrolling GridView Rows

Aug 13, 2010

I put a GridView control in a Panel control so that the GridView's rows can be scrolled vertically. With selection of row enabled for a Button field, I am able to select any row with the selected row background color highlighted. Problem is when you scroll down to a row that is way pass the Panel height and select the row, after postback the GridView will render to show the top rows which are visible within the Panel height. So the selected row in it's background color cannot be seen.

AJAX :: ModalPopup With Gridview Scrolling?

Mar 9, 2010

I searched throughout the forums and couldn't find an answer. Anyway, I have a modal popup extender which contains a Gridview. The gridview is used to return results from a search function also inside the modal popup. Everything is fine as long as I do a search that returns a few results, but when I do a search that returns a huge number, the modal panel stretches out. What I want to do is keep the modal window at a fixed size and use scroll bars to allow users to navigate the panel.

i am using a gridview without any template or bound field....

<asp:GridView

CellPadding="3"
CellSpacing="1"
SkinID="GridView_Regular" Width="732px">
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField......

here the template field i added for hidden column... but i am not setting any values to this hidden field. i am setting the values to the grid from code behind like this....

grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[0].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["PatientId"]);
grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[2].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["Name"]);
grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[3].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["PatCode"]);
grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[4].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["Phone"]);

grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[6].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["Status"]);
grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[7].Text = Convert.ToString(dTable.Rows[i]["Comments"]);

i need to add a new row at 0 position in gridview if a condition satisfies..... Condition is

if ((i == 0) && (Convert.ToDateTime(dTable.Rows[i]["Time"])
< Convert.ToDateTime(grvSchedule.Rows[j].Cells[1].Text)))
