I want to bind list item with selected value only, like i saved selected values of list item in Database as 1,5,8,9 in database.
Now in case of edit i want to fill list item with samevalues and select only those whose value i saved in database.
Try

My datatable consists of a column named "ID". The no. of values in this column varies.Sometimes this Datatable fetches 3 IDs in that ID column, sometimes 2. Now if for example, my datatable has three values as 1,2,3. What I want is to put these three values in a string and separate them by commas as folows:-
string test= "1,2,3";
If Datatable has 2 values, then string should be as follows:-
string test= "1,2";
I did try but in vain.

If i have two textboxes textbox1 & textbox2 and button1 in my ASP.NET and SQL Server database
Database records are:
ID Date Seats
1 15-Dec-2010 1,2
2 15-Dec-2010 3,4
3 17-Dec-2010 1,2,3,4
I want when i type 15-Dec-2010 in TextBox1 and Click on Button1 then in textbox2 The Output would be retrieve from Database using SELECT query then in TextBox2 the output would be displayed as 1,2,3,4
That the exact i want using SELECT query and VB.NET.

I have an invoice form where user enters items and amount. I am calculating the amount as the user enters amount in the textfield. I receive an error (Input String was not in correct format) if user enters amount with comma separated values. If there are no commas, my calculation goes through fine.

I'm having a asp.net listbox on the front end webform with multiple selection, after user selecting multiple items, i'm capturing the DataKeyValue of listbox(which is amenity_id of bigint) and looping all the selected items to a string with comma sepearated values. For example if user selects first 4 options, my output string will be like this (1,2,3,4) and i'm passing this as a string type to my data access layer and then to my below stored proc. Been Googling about this for a couple of hours but haven't hit on the solution yet. This is an ASP.NET 3.5 app connecting to an MS SQL 2008 backend. The app uses a strongly typed dataset with ad hoc queries in table adapters. The object data source on the markup page will have one parameter that will accept a string of comma separated IDs. I need to feed that list of IDs to the WHERE clause in a query to pull each of the specified records. This is trimmed down version of the query:

I am developing a Webpage that gives the user selection criterial before running a report. There is a asp.net ListBox that I need to get the selected values from. It is obviously a multi select listbox.
I need to pass the selected values as a comma separated string to a parameter used in an SQL query of the ObjectDataSource for the report. I was hoping some how to get the selected items, and load their value into a string array and then use the join( stringArray , "," ) to get the selected values into a string to send as a parameter to my objectdatasource but I cant seem to figure this out.. Ideally if code worked my way I would want to do something like this: Declare StringArray for each selected item in Mylistbox Add selected value to StringArray Set parameter = join( StringArray , "," ) Obviously this is what I need syntax for.. I pretty much just need to know how to get a string array or all selected values.

Im trying to test my extension method that converts a list of strings in a string comma separated:

The issue is that in the method TestExtension i cant use ToCommaString method. Do you know what's happening?

I've requirement where user can enter multiple columns like first name, lastname, email, age, sex fields and insert them into database.on my frontend aspx page, i'll be showing a single row initially with 5 text boxes(first name, lastname, email, age, sex) and a button to add more columns. when user clicks on add more, another 5 textboxes will be shown and then i'll be taking 5 + 5 (textbox values) and comma seperate them and need to insert into a table with primary auto increment key ID and the remaining 5 columns(firstname, lastname, email, age, sex). I previously worked on the same requirmeent but with only single column. Now i need to insert for 5 columns, How can i do this? Below is my stored proc which i used for single column insertion.
