Web Forms :: Response.AddHeader Not Working In Safari?
Nov 20, 2010
my website www.findmyhomefromhome.com after a sucessful entry i redirect the users to their previous uploads which is the manageaccomm page. The code behind that does this is Response.AddHeader("REFRESH", "3;URL=manageaccomm.aspx");
This works in firefox but not in safari. In safari it goes to the following [url]
and the message "resource could not be found Requested URL: /manageaccomm.aspx, 3;URL=manageaccomm.aspx".
I'd like to fix this but keep it working on other browsers .
I am using this code to download and its working well for me.But i cant understand the code.Can someone explain me this code to me please?
Response.AddHeader is used to add a new HTML header,but what is an HTML header all about?and the parameters i am passing within it as the name and value;what are they?
Is it possible to use the Response.AddHeader particularly Im trying to use the "Refresh" of it. I need it to pause before it redirects but the place where the code is being ran is in a ASCX in the codebehind. It does nothing when I have the following in my Codebehind:
I'm using Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + Server.HtmlEncode(FileName)); to pop a 'open/save file' dialog for the users, so that they can download an file on to their local machines.
This is working good normally in IE7,But on IE6 the file is not opening when user click on the open button in 'open/save file' dialog. I gone through the net and found that Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "inline; filename="+Server.HtmlEncode(FileName)); should be provide to work that in IE6,and its works fine..
But the issue is most of the files that can open in browser opens on the page itself.. ie user on a mail page and click download an image file it opens there,, i need it to open in another window as in case of IE7 what can i do... other files that cannot open in bowser open with current application in system ie(word,excel etc)..
The Code i used is here....
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" +FileName); Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", file.Length.ToString()); Response.ContentType = ReturnExtension(file.Extension.ToLower()); Response.TransmitFile(file.FullName); Response.End(); private string ReturnExtension(string fileExtension) { switch (fileExtension) { case ".txt": return "text/plain"; case ".doc": return "application/ms-word"; case ".xls": return "application/vnd.ms-excel"; case ".gif": return "image/gif"; case ".jpg": case "jpeg": return "image/jpeg"; case ".bmp": return "image/bmp"; case ".wav": return "audio/wav"; case ".ppt": return "application/mspowerpoint"; case ".dwg": return "image/vnd.dwg"; default: return "application/octet-stream"; } }
After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.
I am using .Net 1.1 for development of a web site. I have buttons for next and Back navigation in my user control. I have added this user control to my .aspx page. The navigation works fine in IE and FireFox, but the event does not get called for Safari and Google Chrome browsers.
We are using Web Part Zones to display certain Charts in our website. In the title of the Zone, we are using the below code to display the menu for Minimize, Refresh and Close buttons.
This buttons are working fine in IE and in Firefox. But the same is not working in Chorme and in Safari.We got the below script error in Chrome:
Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an HTMLElement> has no method 'attachEvent'
ScriptResource.axd?d=JgYxHqt6li1Lc12at8VRK-y-qeXK_5Wiei-tKNUi8rRE-1X5EEl-KvYEuW4m8Foj1VyIiaN7sK98_-pMwa5y7w2&t=633802855995006876:277Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an HTMLElement> has no method 'attachEvent'
I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird!
Correct function:The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery.
The problem:In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process.
I've had an issue with a javascript menu not working inside an Ajax update panel after the ajax postback. I was able to solve this in IE by calling the menu js function with a pageLoad() function which is automatically called by ajax. However I then discovered it doesn't work in any other browser.
Having search around I've only found two references to the issue; one where someone else has found the same thing and another where someone states that pageLoad isn't stable in other browsers.
Is there any way to solve this issue in browsers other than IE?
I'm using an asp textbox and a search button. In Safari if I click the search button i get redirected to the search results page using javascript window.location.href. But strangely the same javascript will not redirect to the page if I press return in the textbox. Using the alert function I can see that window.location.href has the the correct url and the location bar at the top changes from the search page(default.aspx) to the search results url however when I click OK to the alert box the url at the top reverts back to the default.aspx page. It works on ie7/8/firefox/chrome but not safari. Here is my javascript,cs and aspx code:
function submitSearchOnEnter(e) { var CodeForEnter = 13; var codeEnteredByUser;
I am using AjaxContrToolKit (AjaxControlToolkit.Compat.DragDrop.DragDropScripts.js) in my application to provide the drag and drop facility . After implementing the same in the application , observed that working fine in IE and Firefox browser . But the same is not working in Safari and WebKit (Chrome and Safari) browser . In these browsers(both Safari and Webkit), while clicking on the top of the panel getting scrolled up .
I have a gridview within an updatepanel which allows paging and has a linkbutton that when clicked shows a modalpopup for editing records. This works fine in IE, Firefox, and Opera but I do not get a postback in Chrome or Safari?? I have other linkbuttons on the page that are within updatepanels but are not within gridviews that are working fine. I have scowered the web but cannot find a solution.
Try client.Send(msg) Global_asax.myLogger.Log(BitFactory.Logging.LogSeverity.Status, (-- Status --> form sent email to " + msg.To.ToString)) btnSendmail.Enabled =" "False" Response.Redirect("http://www.google.com/")
i am submiting a form on the button click and redirectiing to a site. But it is not working.
None of my response.redirects are working.They work fine in my test environment but one I host the website online none of my buttons will cause a redirect.I have tried Server.transfer but to no avail. I have stripped away the rest of the code to see if that works but still no redirect. It will run all the code and perform and database operations but it does not redirect.
I am calling a [WebMethod] with a piece of JQuery. The aim of the following code it to sent a recently zipped file to the user's browser. When the user clicks the 'Download' button, an AJAX request is sent to the ASP.NET page with is supposed to send the zip file. Here is the code.
When this runs, nothing is sent to the browser, but no exceptions are thrown either. I'm unsure as to what is going on and why the file is not downloading. The 'path' DEFINATELY has the correct address, and when the address of the file is hard-code the same happens.
This works fine in the local host and in one of the server.
In another server,for a particular button,its not working.
The Issue is while redirecting is takes the tilda(~) in the Path and giving the following error.
Server Error in '/EventManagement' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
