Web Forms :: Toggle Panel In Master Page From Webform
Mar 5, 2011
I'm planning out a new website, using a master page. Now the site calls for two different layouts throughout. The home page will have a big image slider in jQuery. It's almost like a landing page. All other pages in my site will be without this slider, and will just have a bar with a heading on it.
Now my question is, can I use the same master page for both layouts by setting up certian areas of that master page into Panels that I can toggle the visibility on? The HTML is modular, so technically I can surround the slider div with a panel and depending on the visibility property, display it.
The bit I am wondering about, is, can the master page panels be toggled from the individual pages that use said master page?
I know I can probably put some code in the Master page to detect what page the user is on and toggle the visibility accordingly, but ideally i'd rather use the previously mentioned method.
I am working on a functionality of user right, in which admin is selecting the pages and the user and save it. so whenever that user will login into the system then he will be able to see only those pages which were selected and saved for him by the admin.
now for that i have created one page for the list of pages of the application and user list and i am storing them into the database. and then to hide and show the panels i have created the BaseWebPage in my application but here i am not able to get the master page to hide the panel and show only those which are permitted. i dont have much knowledge of BaseWebPage. i am working in framework 2.0 and i have links of all pages that i have shown in a master page in a panel.
have a asp.net webform application. Now I have to add master page in this application, but I don't know how to merge or add new created master page with old webforms? How to handle html in webforms like <head> , <body> ?
am trying to get one of the webforms in my application to link to another website, outside of my application. I can get the page to load as a new webpage in my browser easily but I need to keep my masterpage in view.
I have a webform which uses a masterpage which in turn inherits from another masterpage.I have a dropdownlist drpCursosIn my javascript code I tried to access the control but with no luck:var combo = document.forms[0]['drpCursos'];combo is nullAfter checking the source code, I changed it to:var combo = document.forms[0]['ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_drpCursos'];EDIT: My javascript code is in an external file
i have my master page with one update panel working like a banner, so when the timer do tick every 5 sec
the image change. That works fine, but i have an update panel in my index page, this update panel works with some buttons that change the text inside the panel when click.
Now, the problem.
When i click one button to change the text and the banner change, the text returns to his default text. The update in master page is affecting the update on index page.
iam developing master page in that master page panel control is there under another panel control is there second panelcontrol is not visiblemy code like that
I am creating Dynamic Checkboxlist controls and adding them to a Panel. It works well when I do not have a Master Page configure to this webpage. Once I have a masterpage congifured.. I get a "Object Reference not set to instance of object" error on the Panel_Control.Controls.Add(Checkboxlistnew) line:
I have an updatepanel in masterpage and information on a repeater within the panel. I want to update this information from the content page, when a user clicks a button in the content page.
[code]....
I tried this but since button control is in the content page compiler can't find the control.
Modal popup not working, I need to open modal pop up inside a panel, below is my html, senerio goes as :
On page load on only panel with id="pnlgrid" is visible and button with id btnaddnew is visible on clicking addnewbutton panel grid is visible false and panel with id=pnlFormEdit is visible true.
Inside there is linkbutton1 on which click i want to open popup. but on clicking it goes postback.
My friend I are collaborating on a project, he's going to create the Master Page and I'll create the forms. How can I assign a master page to my existent .aspx form?
I have a Page with a FileUpload control on the top with the "Insert" button, in order to insert pictures Below that, i have a Listview showing all the pics. THis is the way i am placing my Update Panel:
[Code]....
How can i, press the INSERT button and reloads only the Content Template after INSERTING?
I have a web page where a div needs to be displayed under certain conditions. I'm using the following code to toggle the display and have verified that it works.
[Code]....
To call this javascript function, I'm using the following code in the code-behind for the page:
[Code]....
I traced the flow using the debugger. When the page load, txt_Cat_ID.Text = "2" correctly resolves to FALSE and the toggleOptionsDiv script is run with the 'hide' parameter. The page correctly hides the div.
When I click on the link that makes txt_CAT_ID.Text = "2" resolve to TRUE, the code executes the line where the toggleOptionsDiv script is run with the 'show' parameter. However, the div remains hidden.
The link that is clicked triggers an asynchronous post back and I'm not sure if that is the problem. How can I get the div to display on postback?
I wrote below code for Collapse/Expand some section. It is working fine. Finally If I click "Save" button and I am re-loading page again in asp.net. So then sections are going default Colleapse again. I need them back to expand. How can I do that?
When an asynchronous postback happened inside update panel, another postback happens also for MasterPagenot only update panel embedded page .I want to prevent this MasterPage postback . is this possible ?think like i have a MasterPage and another page which is test.aspx which is content page of MasterPagei have update panel at test.aspxwhen asynchronous postback happens at this test.aspx update panel it also loads MasterPage Page_Loadi want to prevent this (it should not also load MasterPage Page_Load)
I have a master page setup that is used throughout my site that is basically a header with a menu. I recently added a textbox and a button to this master page which is to be a quick search box that is available anywhere in the site. When a user enters text into the search box and hits the button, I need to load the actual content page which is used to search and show search results (which also uses this same master page), and have the text entered available so the search can be triggered automatically. Again, this search text box and button is now in my master page so it could be triggered from anywhere in the app... it serves as a convenient way to do a basic search from anywhere in my app, without having to first navigate to the actual 'search page' that already exists. You can also navigate to the actual search page, which uses the same master page, where there is many more search options.I'm thrown off by the master page arrangement, which I have not used until this project. What do I do?
I am using FTB on my aspx page. is there any way I can have Toggle Full screen feature in FTB, is this feature availble in FTB? it is available on TinyMCE, but I don't want to switch to TinyMCE since I am already using FTB in most of the pages in my application.
I'm trying to dynamically change the look of my main master page depending on what nested master page that the current content page is using .
So for example.
Main master page = main.master My nested page = nested.master (uses main.master) content page = content.aspx (uses nested.master)
So in the Page_Load event of main.master I want to add a switch statement that will check to see what nested master page is currently being used by content.aspx, or whatever content page is loaded.
So far I have got
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { string nMaster = //This is the line of code that I am looking for. switch(master) { case "nested.master": //all my logic here. break; } }
