Every thing is working fine, except for the fact that when i try to upload the file on the server i am getting an error: (probably some authorization exception).

do i need to give some rights to the upload up there on the server. If so then for which account and do i need to restart the server after giving rights?

Web Forms :: File Upload Tool - Tutorials?
Does anyone know of any good sites / links where i can learn how to program the ASP.Net FileUpload tool? I'm using VB and i need to upload files from a users workstation to a shared network server within my company. The idea is that each file will be pre-fixed with an incident reference number so that the admins of my application can easily find each file relating to a particular incident. I've found a few sites and tutorials myself but most of them seem to be in C# instead of VB.

Use The Upload Control To Upload A File To The Database?
I am trying to use the upload control to upload a file to the database. It works just fine with one exception...I can't get the full pathname of the file the user selects. I browse to a folder several subfolders deep and select a file. The edit box shows the full path and filename. However, in code, I'm trying to set that value to a string variable:

string sFilename = FileUpload1.PostedFile.FileName;

I've also tried:

string sFilename = FileUpload1.FileName;

Both times, my variable has only the filename, not the full path + filename. I'm running .NET 3.5 under Visual Studio 2008 on Windows Vista Ultimate. Funny thing is, it works fine on XP professional

I have not been able to find any info on doing this yourself, only links to pre made packages. Can anyone provide me with any info to get me started. Web Forms :: Viewing A File Uploaded Using The File Upload Control?
I have seen different tutorials on how to upload multiple files onto a server. My question is that the tutorials that I have seen they don't show the .doc, .gif etc as a link. However, I can't find any tutorial that would explain how to view the actual document once the file is uploaded. I'm using ASP.NET VB not C#

I'm trying to create a page where:

A. User can upload a file onto a server.

B. Once the file is uploaded it will display the name of the file, and how many bites it has.

C. User can click on the link of the uploaded file and it will take them to that document.
