Web Forms :: Validation - Display Nothing For Each Individual Control
Nov 24, 2010
I am using the validation controls, and I would like to display nothing for each individual control, but a message box summary. However, my validators are within a Repeater (see below) and each row can have up to 2 errors, and I want some way to be able to show in my summary whether ANY row has Error 1 or ANY row has Error 2. I.e. I want my summary to say 'The Grid contains Error 1 (new line) The Grid contains Error 2'. At the moment my summary gives me a separate line for each row where there is an error. Here is my code:
[Code]....
<asp:ValidationSummary ID="valSum" runat="server" ShowMessageBox="True"
ShowSummary="false" DisplayMode="BulletList" HeaderText="The following errors have been made in the order numbers:" />
How to display validation error in label control(Using Java Script)?, At the time I want to clear in particular Textbox(Which Show this error), and Remaining Textbox data Should not be cleared.
I need to display record data in individual text boxes, not in a gridview and I can't find any examples of how to do this anywhere (maybe looking in the wrong place).
I am debating between 2 scenarios for handling the display of a product catalog for a website redesign I am performing. I will be using the IIRF isapi filter to perform the rewriting for an asp.net website.
Here is what the urls will look like
[URL]
[URL]
[URL]
etc...
There will be a total of 8 or 9 product group pages
Scenario 1: I have these pages rewrite to one general purpose page that will look something like this:
[URL]
Then I decide which catalog to display with a switch/case based on the querystring. All of the code for displaying the catalogs would be based off of one page.
Scenario 2: I create a separate page for processing each different catalog page. The rewriting would look something like this then:
[URL]
Then each catalog page would have it's own .aspx to handle the processing and display of that group of items.
I have to assign the individual color to Column bar chart i tried the below it is working

I also have a working application that popukates my datagrid with valid data rows from my DataBase. What I cant figure out is how to get each of the hyperlink lables to NAVIGATE to the correct and corresponding aspx page!
For example I have 5 rows in the datagrid and each row has its own hyperlink, each row contains contact and a short profile on 5 diffrent companies. For example when i click on let say row 3 that has (eg) Jimmy's Big Prawn's Restaurant listed in the the datagrid, I want to be navigated to a webform page dedicated to Jimmy's Big Prawn Restaurant.
[Code]....
I am guesing it has to do with the bolded text above, but "details.aspx" is just an empty webform, I would like the hyperlink to point to (eg) JimmBigPrawnRestaurant.aspx.
My tab control items contain three different pages.Clicking on tabitem ,they are visible, but when want to perform javascript event on page item then problem arise.javascript well works for only first tab control item, rest of them are not work.Show me the bellow error. Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'this.GetStateInput().value' is null or not an objec
I have a single series bar chart created programmatically in codebehind which I would like to display the Y point value (somewhere above the bar, or maybe as a tooltip) when the user hovers their mouse over a bar. Is there a native onmouseover event for the bars of the chart, or is it something that should be added through series.MapAreaAttributes?
Edit After some experimenting I've found the points.tooltip attribute which I can add at the same time I add the point which will do what I want it to do, but it would still be nice to know if you can capture events for the bars, just for future reference.
I am creating dropdown controls in code behind. in some conditions I need to add validation control to dropdowlist. But Validation not firing when I submit button.
If mQuestion.RequiredToAnswer = True Then Dim mValidator As New RequiredFieldValidator mValidator.ControlToValidate = mDDL.ID mValidator.InitialValue = mDDL.Items(0).Text mValidator.Display = ValidatorDisplay.Dynamic mValidator.ErrorMessage = "* Required!" mTableCell.Controls.Add(mValidator) End If
I have other dropdown controls on aspx page with validation comtrols. Those are working fine. Only when I ddl and validations from code not working?
I am having two text box for "Password" and "confirm password".
The password should be minimum of 6 charecters.
when the password is minimum of 6 charecter it shows a error message and when the confirm password and password is not matching it shows the error message.
It displays both the error message at a time.
Is there is way to display one by one.
I am using following regular expression validater to validate for minimum of 6 charecter
" <asp:RegularExpressionValidator ValidationGroup="vgProductDetails" ValidationExpression="^([a-zA-Z0-9]{6,10})$" ErrorMessage="Password Should be minimum of 6 Characters and maximum of 8 characters." SetFocusOnError="true" ControlToValidate="txtPassword" ID="RegularExpressionValidator4" runat="server"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator>"
For comapring the password and confirm password, i am using the following.
"<asp:CompareValidator SetFocusOnError="true" ID="CompareValidator2" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtconfirmPassword" ControlToCompare="txtPassword" ErrorMessage="Password and confirm password should be same."></asp:CompareValidator>"
For Progress Bar with validations..... It's working good...
Additionally i need to prompt a Confirm dialog box on button click with some custom message as "Are you sure?" . If user click on cancel nothing would happen but if clicks on OK then should first check all validations, if it's passed all then should display progress bar, If not passed then validators should raise message for corresponding fields.

I have a text box with a custom validator, compare field validator. I have a problem with the error message display.
my compare field validator works normally....ie; when I enter a wrong value it gives me the error message and when I correct it the error message disappears.but this does not happen with my custom validator......I do not undersatnd the reason..I tried to run an example downloaded from some site and that example works as required..I tried to implement a similar logic but still the error message does not disappear..
