Web Forms :: Windows Forms Contrl Library (dll) Is Not Getting Displayed In Object Tag?

I create a windows forms control library project, And build it. then i want it's dll to my web project, for this i used object tag which can display it on page. I made reference of dll to my project.did the following coding.

It has a part where it sends new users their first password in email.. and yes I'm getting that annoying cannot access CDO.Message object error traced back to the "Error loading type library/DLL" message. but I remember that it used to work fine with my old computer I started the development on.
1. It isn't a permission error.. like most cases (tried granting admin access to the ASPNET user)
2. I have the required dll files registered (checked them several times and even reinstalled them a few times)
3. Tried putting only that piece of code in a new application to be able to experiment.. Started commenting out blocks of code until it finally "worked" (I didn't get the error). So it seems like I only get the error if I add a mail field (which is bad since I need those for authentication..)

I have a Web project in which I defined some methods to parse some webpages. I then save the retrieved data in a DB. Now I have run a lengthy operation(it may take 2 days) in which I continously parse webpage this way.
Can I use the webproject from a Windows project. If I try to add a refference to it it doesn't work. How should I do it? I have used until now an asp.net application, and done the calls to the parsing methods in the pageLoad event but after an hour or so the process stops.

I just changed my NHibernate application to use the Unit of Work pattern. I then continued through this tutorial to the part where it starts using HttpContext to determine whether or not the code is running in an web application. Using Visual Studio 2010 I get the error "The name 'HttpContext' does not exist in the current context". So I added a reference to System.Web and imported the namespace. The sample code then checks whether or not HttpContext.Current is null to determine whether this is a web or windows application. Is this the best way of doing that?

I have two Picture Libraries. One has pictures and the other contains the thumbnails created programmatically by me. I am displaying the thumbnails into a custom webpart. I need to display the original pictures on mouseover on the thumbnails displayed in webpart and the originals displayed should dissappear on mouse out.

I have written an web application in VS2010 ASP.net C#, to display Crystal reports. I moved this application to Azure Emulator. It was working fine locally. However after deploying it with Azure, crystal report is not getting displayed and not even an exception is thrown.
I have installed
Installed CRforVS_13_0.exe
Then installed CRRuntime_64bit_13_0, on my machine sequentially.Any input from any1 will be helpful. Please let know if you want more information.

I have one C# windows class library type project which has a web reference whose settings are automatically added in to settings.settings file( Webservice name, type, scope, value).
I also have one separate ASP.net project which has let us as suppose, one page with a button. When I click this button, it calls a method of referred DLL of previous project and control goes there.
When in that project, when control goes in to location where I use this web reference, it tries to get the URL of web reference from settings file and raises an exception - 'The current configuration system does not support user-scoped settings'.
So, What is the way for me to call a c# project having web service in a asp.net project ? This is really a source stopper for our development.

My problem today is that I am having trouble shifting some functionality, that is being used in multiple applications, from the applications themselves to a class library I have started building. The issue comes in the fact the code was written to utilize Response objects as seen below...

This is all currently within a function called "DownloadDocument". I continue to have issues running any of the Response object functionality. I usually get the error saying, "Response is not available in this context", is there anyway to use a Response object in a class library file?

I'm using ASP.NET on C# and I have a referanced library in the same solution in VB which calls a COM object using CreateObject.When I run the site on my comp it works, when I run it on my IIS 6 it gives me a stackoverflow on the method call.Now I have a script wich runs the VB code on the IIS6 and it works just fine.It must be something with the ASP...How can I call Com objects within ASP..., Do I have to do something special?

I am implementing a custom membership and role providers where I need to store all the role/membership information in the user's session.
I am implementing these custom providers inside a class library project (different from the website project) and need to access the session in them. The idea is to store the role/membership related information in the session after retrieving them for the first time from the database.
When I try to access the Session using System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session
I get this as a null object (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Why is the session turning out to be null?

I have a windows service that calls a class library. The call to the Class library from the windows form application works fine. But from the service I do get the desired output. The event viewer does not report any error. The service was working fine until the recently when the server got remastered. Any suggestions what might have gone wrong?

We have created an ASP.NET web app that upload files to WSS Doc Libary. The files get added under 'SYSTEM ACCOUNT' in the library. The FullTextSqlQuery class is used to search the document libary items. But it only searches files that has been uploaded by a windows user account like 'Administrator' and ignores the ones uploaded by 'SYSTEM ACCOUNT'. As a result the search results are empty even though we have the necessary data in the document library. What could be the reason for this?

I am using webclient object to download a file to a windows folder from a sharepoint document library. The credentials I am passing to the webclient object are that of site collection administrator. everything works fine while i test it by uploading a file to the document library. But since the document library is email enabled; when an email is received the file is not transferred to the windows folder. i have put some workflow history events to see which user account is used when the email is received. the user account shown is the network service account. I have given write permissions on the folder to all the users; Everyone, Network service, the site collection administrator user etc. but still i cant figure out what is the problem.

I am looking at the twitter api page http://apiwiki.twitter.com/ and I noticed that they have already built libraries that are wrappers against the twitter api. So I am thinking this is the best way to go but I am unsure which C# library I should use.
What I am trying to do is make some simple service or cmd line application that will help me automate retweeting.
So I am looking for a library that will allow me to get posts from other twitter accounts and then retweet them from another account.
I am not sure if the library can do this or not. Otherwise I was thinking of getting the RSS feed from the twiter account I want to get the twitters from parse out the new ones and use a library to retweet them on my own account.
I have not used twitter much so I am hopping someone can shed some light on this.

I've got a Varchar2 field in my table which I want to convert to a CLOB. I am unsure whether the data would get truncated when selected. If so, what is the limit and does it depend on the database settings?
In my TOAD or SQLPLUS window it gets truncated but this may just be the environment settings. I'm not sure whether it would get truncated in my actual application (I can test this, but up to what size should I test?)
If it does get truncated, what's the best way to display the whole CLOB? There are other fields in my SELECT query, so I think I can't just loop through multiple rows. Is there any way out?

I created (and used) a Windows Media Encoder object in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on MS Server 2003 64 bit. This worked fine.
However, when I attempted to create the equivalent Windows Media Encoder object using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 on MS Server 2003 64 bit, the following exception was thrown:
"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {632B606A-BBC6-11D2-A329-006097C4E476} failed due to the following error: 80040154."
It cannot be that the component isn't registered, because both have a reference to the same WMEncEng.dll file. The Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 code also worked fine on XP 32 bit.

I have been trying really hard to activate and launch a COM object using an ASP.NET web application. The aspx website has a code-behind file that has a reference to this COM object (which is an actual application -a CAD software). When required, the VB code creates (or launches) the application.
The complete set-up works in a Win-XP (32-bit) environment both under debugging using visual studio and when the website is accessed by an outside user (through IIS server in XP). But the same application doesn't get activated when it is hosted onto the Win-2003 (32-bit) IIS server. I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.
The way I have setup in Win-XP was to grant ASP user and Internet guest user permissions to the COM object in the DCOM Config and since the windows firewall is enabled, I add the exe file (associated with the COM object) to the exception list. For the case of Win-2003 server, I add the Network Service permission to the COM object. But the setup doesn't seem to work at all. I am not sure what I am missing and how to get the application to launch.

In the VS2005 environment, when I test my session to make sure the page redirects to the main page (itself) if the session is null, it works. There is no error.
The function I use for this is:

However, when it is in the production environment in IIS 6.0, when the session has timed out, and I then do a postback by doing some slider control, I see the page reload but immediately thereafter, it throws a Server Error exception of : Object reference not set to an instance of object.
Looking at the stack trace, the event occured:
AJAXEnabledWebApplication1._Default.Slider1_TextChanged(Object sender, EventArgs e)
however, why is it that the Slider1_TextChanged event fired even even after during page_load, the page was told to do a response.direct ?? shouldn't the entire page have gone through a full-page refresh life cycle ? why did it continue on to attempt to raise the Slider1_TextChanged event?

I'm new to programming in ASP.NET, but I'm making my way through Wrox's Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 in C# and VB.NET.
I'm at a section where I'm creating a BasePage. I successfully created a BasePage by creating a new class file in my App_Code folder called BasePage.cs with the following code:

If I run that code everything works out fine. The page loads and all is well. But, if I try to do the same thing to a page that uses my MasterPage.master file, I get the following error:
