I have an ActiveX object which extends some functions. I have a web page that loads the ActiveX object and calls its methods in Javascript. The ActiveX object has two method; the problem is that Javascript can successfully call one of them but fails to call the other; citing Object doesn't support this property or method which is nonsense because I made a VB6.0 application that successfully calls this other method, so the two functions are indeed extended correctly and performing their job. And yes, the Internet Explorer security zones are all set and everything, as I wrote above the javascript code can call one method but refuses to call the other.
In asp.net page, How can i call the javascript methods for form processing-submitting if the user browser supports javascript and use code behind events if the browser does not support javascript.I have the javascript code to send the form data to an ajax server page using jquery. I have a class that is referenced in my application. I use it in the codebehind, but now I need to call it from javascript. Is this possible, and how would I go about doing this? Say I have ClassABC. Within the class is method called getNames(). How do I call the method getnames() from javascript.
I have a web form that has a button. The click event of the button submits the form for processing on the server. On the server, after the processing is complete, I want to call a JavaScript function. I don't want to attach it to a control. Just call it.
I have multiple HyperLink controls and I want to enable or disable different panels base on which HyperLink I clicked on. This should be done using javascript. The question is: Is that possible to even use javascript for this? I know other button controls, there is onClick property but not in Hyperlink.
I don't need to run the function every time the page loads!!
But, I would like to have the control when the function is to be called.
The only way I thought of is calling my function with OnLoad in the body tag and having a hidden field to be checked and then run the script accordingly.
e.g:
<body onload="ScrollToView();">
Is there a better way? For example, running the function from Page_InitComplete handler?
I have a DataList that has a column with a checkbox in it. The checkbox has its AutoPostBack property set to true. During the DataList's OnItemDataBound event, I am registering a javascript method to the control:
chk2.Attributes.Add("onclick", "CheckAdvanceChecked(this);"); The purpose of this method is to determine if any of the programmatically checkboxes in the DataList are checked, and if so, disable some of the other controls on the page. My problem is that when the HTML is generated, my 'CheckAdvanceChecked' function is being placed (and executed) prior to the javascript that ASP automatically adds to the checkbox (due to its AutoPostBack property): <input id="checkAdvanceList_ctl01_chk" type="checkbox" name="checkAdvanceList$ctl01$chk" onclick="CheckAdvanceChecked(this);
etTimeout('__doPostBack('checkAdvanceList$ctl01$chk','')', 0)" Value="760" /> I need my CheckAdvanceChecked(this); function to to be place after the 'setTimeout' function that ASP generates automatically so it will execute last. Is this possible?
My external javascript file named "messages.js" located in the "/scripts" directory:
