The first dropdownlist is for the type: SELECT * FROM TypesThe second dropdownlist is for the brand: SELECT * FROM Brandsnd the third dropdownlist is for the model:SELECT a.id, a.descriptionFROM Models AS a INNER JOIN Items AS b on b.id_modelo = a.idWHERE b.id_type = @id_typeAND a.id_brand = @id_brandGROUP BY a.id,a.descriptionORDER BY a.descriptionI have an UPDATEPANEL only on the Models dropdownlist with the asynchronous trigger on the Brands dropdownlist.
THe problem is when i change the Type, i want the other 2 dropdownlists to reset or just the Models dropdownlist.

the problem is the child triggers are not recognising these buttons because its inside a fromview..but on each button click everyting in two update panels are getting postback and doing sql calls...which makes updatepanels useless other than avoiding fullpostback.. how to set a childtriggger for buttons inside a formview of update panel...
all updatepanels are set to ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional"

I am trying to write a quote generator. For each product, there are a set of options. I want to dynamically add a drop down list for each option, and then have their SelectedIndexChanged events all wired up to update the quote cost.
I am not having any trouble adding the DropDownList controls to my UpdatePanel, but I can't seem to wire up the events.
After the page loads, the drop downs are there, with their data, but changing them does not call the SelectedIndexChanged event handler, nor does the QuoteUpdatePanel update. I have something like this:
Edit: Since programmatically adding AsyncPostBackTrigger controls is not supported, I've change my code to this, but I still don't get the event:
Edit 2: Tried adding a PlaceHolder to add the drop down lists to (instead directly into the ContentTemplateContainer, still no events firing.

i was made 'webusercontrol'
and i use this:

problem : when i add my 'webusercontrol' to a page,
i can add events(msgok,msgcancel) to page codebehind,
but i cant add this to updatepanel tiggers.

I ahve an update panel that is in my MasterPage, I have put a login panel which includes my login/anonymous views in my update panel. I have added the triggers parameter and I am getting an error. here is the code:

I have a radiobutton that triggers the updatepanel to display or not..
when the page loads, i can select yes adn it displays, i can select no and it disappears.. i hit yes it reappears.. but after like the 3rd time going back and fourth testing the functionality, it stops displaying all together.
Is there something i need to look at to find out what is going on?

When the user selects an "account" we dynamically create a linkbutton with the selected dates. However, the linkbutton onclick handler doesn't fire when the button is clicked.

I am using .net 3.5 framework. I have a Tabcontainer inside that I have place asp.net fileupload control which is inside update panel. It's been known fact that fileupload control does not work under update panel unless we use Postback Triggers.

I want to dynamically populate a form field from multiple other fields in the form.
If input A or input B is changed, input C should be updated based on the values in input A and input B.
The DynamicPopulateExtender in Ajax control toolkit has almost this. With it I can populate a target based on a trigger.

Creating a system with web front end and SQL backend (microsoft obviously). I have tried using the asp.netsqlprovider but i can;t as i am only allowed one database on the server, so i then tried to update my current database with the triggers to input the schema into the already existing database.Next step i create my own table with two simple fields of username and password and try and authenticate that way, i can't get that to work either.
I ahve limited permissions on the network as i am a University Student. I really don't know what to do. Never had to create a log on system before and i thought it would be far simpler than this. I ahve used Microsoft's sqlprovider schema before and it worked fine. I have also authenticated via IIS and AD too before. I can't do any of those two in this instance it seems.I need an alternative for logging in users, if needs be in can be crude. I also still need to have some kind of two different views too for logged in users and not logged in users, but that can change if needs must.Don't let me down people, haha. Think this posts in the correct place, i could not find another one i thought could be more relevant.

I have the following simple code:

And in the master page there is a ToolkitScriptManager. but the update panel does not work never similar to they do not exist.
Note: I use .Net 4.0.
Edit: I removed the ToolKitScriptManager and added ScriptManager and the problem still exists. Seems the Ajax functionality is disabled in my application but I do not know how.

I have read several post on the TreeView is not/partly working with the UpdatePanel, but none of them mention that an update (triggered by a timer) causes creation of multiple javascript functions in the HTML header. In Mozilla Firefox this a memory leak. I have created a test webapplication to demonstrate the issue we encounter.

I have two sliderextenders in a page, and one of them is in an UpdatePanel.When I slide the first one it set the minimum value and the number of steps of the second one (in the control panel) and it seems to work well.But if I slide the second one, as soon as I release the mouse button, my two sliders don't work anymore. I have to click them to change the value but can't slide them.

Button 1 is outside the update panel and the javascript that gets run when a user adds a file in the upload box is this:

The problem is simple. FileUpload1.HasFile == false. I don't know why this is, but when I put it in the update panel it ceases to work.
I have seen some other threads on this. But none of them answer why this is happening, they just point to things you can download.
EDIT: Really my main reason for wanting to do this is so that I can get a ..Uploading File.. Tag to pop up while the client is uploading to the server and once it has completed, display it in a datalist. I just cant get the UpdateProgress to work.

I have a page with a listview that shows something like posts. On each post there should be a "rate box" which works similar to the "Like" button in facebook. The rate box is a User Control, that has an update panel inside it.
If I put the control with some random values in the page it works great - but when I put it inside the ListView, where it should be located, it won't work. The method is being called, but nothing happens.
I simplified the code a bit to make it easier to understand:

While debugging I noticed the controls in the method "OnRateClick" are empty and don't contain the right values.

I have Master Page with 2 ContentPlaceHolds , called "left" and "right"

In this page, i have 2 WebUserControls called WUCLeft is put into "left" and WUCRight put into "right"

WUCLeft has a button to load WUCRight into "right" ContentPlaceHold

WUCRight has one TextBox, one Button and one Label, when I click Button, the text of TextBox is assigned to Label

The problem occurs after I press Button on "left" ContentPlaceHold to load WUCRight.
In the first, I click on Button on "right" ContentPlaceHold, nothing happens (the Text of TextBox is not assigned to Label). In the second, i click on Button, page is submitted and all control in "right" ContentPlaceHole are cleared.
What did i do something wrong?

I am trying to add validation on my form. I am using AJAX controls in my form fields.
When I remove the Update panel and AJAX control, my validation starts working, but when keeping both the things together, my validation is not working. How could I make them work together?
