View 5 RepliesI am having fileupload control having its "multiple" attribute equals to "multiple". I am facing a weird issue in CHROME browser. The isse is that onchange event of file upload control is not firing for more than 12 files selected at once. The event is firing if I have 10 files selected at once. On FF and Safari it is working fine. Here is the code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

Being new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.

Basic concept of AJAX is to cause Partial post back of the Page. If we use AJAX, Page Load occurs, than what is the difference between normal Pages' Page_Load event (without ajax) and Page load event of a Page with ajax.
View 10 RepliesI've got an website that needs to know when someone has closed a details page. Is there a way to fire a post back using Javascript to call a particular Sub or Function on the Unload event?
View 2 RepliesI want to upload files to the web servers from the client machines.
Can i upload a file on a network share folder using file upload control?
I would like to create a share folder on a file server sitting next to the web server. If i upload the file from the network share folder instead of uploading it from the client machine does it make any difference?
Will the file be stored in a temporary location before copying to the final destination? Where will be the file stored in this case of uploading it from share folder?
I have a button like this:
<asp:Button ID="btnSave" runat="server" ClientIDMode="Static" Text="Save" OnClientClick="return ConfirmSave();" OnClick="btnSave_Click" />
If I write my client function like the following, it works as expected:
function ConfirmSave()
{
return confirm('Confirm?');
}
But I should check, inside the function, for the confirm result, like this:
function ConfirmSave()
{
if (Page_ClientValidate('validationGroup'))
{
var conf = confirm("Confirm?");
if (conf)
{
$('#btnSave').attr('disabled', 'disabled');
}
return conf;
}
else
return false;
}
Doing this, the page postback but the server click event doesn't fire.
I am using the async file upload control to upload to a image file. I want the user to upload only jpg files. And for that I am checking the uploadedfile content type in server side, after the upload complets. I wanna check this, before upload starts. There is one javascript method
function startUpload(sender, args){}
but how to access the content type of the file selected by user.
i create a user control
this user control have tree input type text
i can save a input value when a postback fire in page but i want
save all input value in post back
can i save value of more than one property of a server control when a bost back fire.
I need to process surveys. I have modelled them in SQLServer, just need to generate the forms to input it.I have nested SqlDataSource/DataLists. The outer gets the questions and the inner gets the various options as a plain HTML radio buttons. I can't use ASP.NET radio buttons because of a bug with them inside itemtemplates not mutually exclusive http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316495Anyway, so now I need to know the which radio buttons were selected so I can insert the values in the database. What is the best way of doing it?
View 12 RepliesHere is my code to post the file. I use asp fileupload control to get the file stream.
HttpWebRequest requestToSender = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create [URL]
requestToSender.Method = "POST";
requestToSender.ContentType = "multipart/form-data";
requestToSender.KeepAlive = true;
requestToSender.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
requestToSender.ContentLength = BtnUpload.PostedFile.ContentLength;
BinaryReader binaryReader = new BinaryReader(BtnUpload.PostedFile.InputStream);
byte[] binData = binaryReader.ReadBytes(BtnUpload.PostedFile.ContentLength);
Stream requestStream = requestToSender.GetRequestStream();
requestStream.Write(binData, 0, binData.Length);
requestStream.Close();
HttpWebResponse responseFromSender = (HttpWebResponse)requestToSender.GetResponse();
string fromSender = string.Empty;
using (StreamReader responseReader = new StreamReader(responseFromSender.GetResponseStream()))
{
fromSender = responseReader.ReadToEnd();
}
XMLString.Text = fromSender;
In the page load of CrossPage.aspx i have the following code
NameValueCollection postPageCollection = Request.Form;
foreach (string name in postPageCollection.AllKeys)
{
Response.Write(name + " " + postPageCollection[name]);
}
HttpFileCollection postCollection = Request.Files;
foreach (string name in postCollection.AllKeys)
{
HttpPostedFile aFile = postCollection[name];
aFile.SaveAs(Server.MapPath(".") + "/" + Path.GetFileName(aFile.FileName));
}
string strxml = "sample";
Response.Clear();
Response.Write(strxml);
I don't get the file in Request.Files. The byte array is created. What was wrong with my HttpWebRequest?
I have an Accordion control that is populated dynamically. I want to catch the event raised when a new pane is clicked on to open. I don't see the event at all in intelli-sense and when I code it by hand anyways I get errors. Is there any way to catch this event? The goal is to let a control in the masterpage that is holding the Accordion know when the Accordion has changed so it can update another control.
View 1 RepliesI have a button that when clicked, will generate a PDF and write it out to the response.This is the basic structure of the code:
try
{
using(Stream stream = generatePdf())
{
[code]...
Downloading the file works fine, except that it doesn't complete the postback.If I were to throw an exception above file.Transmit, the error handling would work properly and I would see the message get displayed in my browser. However, if there is an exception after the file.Transmit then nothing happens. The user saves/opens the pdf and the page does not reload.How can I make it so that the postback always completes, that way I can display an appropriate message to the user?

Does anyone know how to code the following in order to make it work right away when we Tab out of the text box.

Using Vb.Net 2003 Asp.Net 1.1
I have a dynamic data bound drop down list, when the user selects thier selected item I have to use the autopostback feature.
Problem is: when the page comes back it is at the top of the page not where i have the control.
I don't really need it to focus back on the dropdownlist but to scroll to it, I want to do it in the code behind.
Any "New" ways to do it, I mean new as in code from like 2010 instead of old code from the early days.
I really don't want to use Page.Register new Script...... code if I can avoid it.
What would be cool is a ScrollToControl() Function for my code behind that worked but didn't register script.
I have an ASP.NET Webform and inside the form I have an input type of file. What I would like to happen is for the form to post immediately after the user chooses a file.I have a server side function I would like to be called, let's say UploadedFile()What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

I'm trying to upload a file to an ASP 2.0 web service through HTTP 1.1 POST from a client-side application. If my web service function is declared as
<WebMethod()>
Public Function UploadFile(ByVal file as Byte(), ByVal fileName as String) as String
...
The test form says the request should take this form:
POST address_of_service HTTP/1.1
Host: <host>
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Content-Length: length
file=string&file=string&fileName=string
How do I get my binary file data into that form? I've tried just converting the file data to a string and putting it in the body (file=<string_data_here>) but I get HTTP 500 errors back, complaining about not being able to convert it to System.Byte. I've got HTTP POST working fine elsewhere in my application with plain string parameters. Also, out of curiosity, why is it showing the file parameter twice?
