I have an application that I am working on that is a time keeping site. I will use it to track the clock-in/out times of the employees. I have 2 buttons on a page. One that says clock-in and the other says clock-out.
I want the clock-in button to be disabled if the user has not clocked-out and the clock-out to be disabled if the user hase not clocked-in.
I have four Imagebuttons that I want to disable depending on the Role the user belongs too. I know how do do this in a gridview or detailsview but for some reason it isn't working on just a plain form. So when a User who is not in the "Admin" role logs onto the page he either doesn't see the button or the hyperlink has been disabled thus not allowing him to proceed any further.
Suppose the Gridview on the page is for showing the detail records of the Header master record on the same page. How to disable the "Edit" within the Gridview? I would like to disable the "choose" in the Popup of the Gridview and also to disable any buttons of that.
i am using a repeater control inside the updatepanel, there are few buttons in the repeater based on the database entries, what i want is to get the values from the database based on which button is clicked ! here is my code

I want if users select item="Area" from dropdownlist then Rfvare.visible=true and RfvareaC.visible= false
I have a dropdownlist ,three text boxes and a submit button. The three text boxes are disabled and enabled based on the condition in dropdownlist.I have provided required field validators in three text boxes. When I click on condition "self" then three text boxees are disabled and submit button click wont enter the values since required field validators prevent that.I have set causes validation property to false. But it wont work for the second condition where i need to enable all the textboxes,If i didnt provide any values it will enter nulll values to db.
I have one gridview with two template fields check box and dropdown and my doubt is dropdown validation should occur only for check box selected items..
In my form all the dropdown shows validation even though if check box is not selected
I have a drop down that lists all our 40+ locations.. I then have a list box with all our locations as well. The client is presented with the question which locations have you worked at before. If they pick say 3 locations, i need to remove or disable those 3 from the drop down. I have other code for creating a drop down, but not sure where to go with this.
I am rather new to MVC applications, and one thing I am trying to accomplish is enabling or disabling stylesheets based on a Session value.I have stylesheets referenced in my Site.Master page in this manner:
So if the 'cssRule' Session value is null, no CSS loads. Currently this is working fine, but it is not exactly what I am looking for. Right now I set the Session value in the Controller when the user logs in, but ultimately I need to set the value of theSession variable depending on if a user clicks the enable or disable button.
In one of my Web Page, there is one Modal Pop up, in which I am using Gridview Edit, Update, CancelEdit, Delete functionality.Main functionality is : If while deleting any of the Gridview Row, if only 1 row remains in Gridview (that row can be any row), then that row should not get deleted.Rest of Edit, Update, CancelEdit functionally is working fine.
problem is: When any last row is left in Gridview, its Delete button is disables that time (as per requirement and functionality). But when user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button, update section opens, and at that time "Delete" button gets Enabled, so that time user can delete the last row of Gridview which should not be done.I had fixed this problem for "Cancel" and "Update" button of Gridview using below line:
Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri); but unable to fix it for "Edit" button of Gridview. If Last row is left in Gridview , and user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button of that row, then at that time "Delete" button should not get "enabled" it should remain "disabled"
I am trying to put in scripts for google analytics in my code. But I want it to run only if the environment is production and not in dev or qa. This javascript runs at page load itself and I am confused how to make it run conditionally. My app is an asp.net app.
Javascript is always confusing to me. There are many other javascripts in the page and I just need to disable this one. Had it been a .net code/function I would check for the environment and conditionally run the function. But I am confused about how to accomplish this type of functionality with javascript
I've somehow managed to successfully get Membership working on a test site I'm playing with (learning!). I've reached a point where I can redirect users to another page if they do not have the required level of membership - using the allow feature in a web.config within a folder. What I would like to do now is create a main menu of links (a back office menu visible after the use has logged in), and disable a link if they do not have access to view that page. Is this complex? I'd be grateful for any sample code to get me started.
I have an asp.net application that uses validation controls on textboxes. However, if the user enters a value in txtFieldA, then I want to disable the validation controls on txtFieldB and txtFieldC.
I had a checkbox in gridview to select rows for batch update, i want to disable and enable the checkbox base on some conditions.
For example, I had a column called "Status", if the status="Approved", the checkbox of this row will be disable, otherwise the checkbox is enabled to select.
My customer has a website that is unsuitable for children. Anyone under 18 is not allowed ont he site. No, it's not a porn site, it's prison related. A certain page requires the user to enter their birthdate. If they are under 18, they're redirected to another site.
He has another site written for kids who have been impacted by crime. He wants the kids redirected here, to a page that explains why they were redirected. He asked me to disable the back button at this point to keep the kids from easily going back to the original site.
I've read all the reasons why you shouldn't desable the back button, but frankly, I think this would an appropriate place to do it. I also know you really can't disable it, but I've found a number of work arounds - none of which I've gotten to work.
Is there a work around that will work?
I've thought of setting a session variable or a hidden field or an invisible label on the page that redirects the kids just before the redirect and checking the value at page load, but the code to do the checking doesn't get run unless the user hits the back button then refreshes the page. Is there a way to get code to run as soon as the back button is pressed?
I have this below piece of code which fires on second time but not first time for me. I am using it as a login button checking for Username n password validations.
