Web Forms :: How To Set Page Output Caching For Some Expiry Date
I am using Page purout cachine inmyasp.netweb application. I have implemented page output cachineto cache pages at server for 3 days by using the below code

Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Parse("12/7/2009 11:55:00 PM")); // Consider some feature date more than 3 days.

Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.Public);
Response.Cache.SetValidUntilExpires(true);
Response.Cache.VaryByParams["*"] = true;

When i request my page first time it is taking some time to return results to the browser and the subsequent requests for the same page is served from the cache and it is fast. But when i request same page after 3 or 4 hours, instead of serving page from server cache it is starting processing the whole page lifecylce (executing stored procedutes, binding data to gridview, etc..).

The above code should cache the page for some days but it is not doing that. Is there any issue with the above code?

My requirement is, i need to keep some pages in cache for 3-7 days. My requirement is, i have reports which takes long time to generate and refreshes weekly once.

My web application displays MathML embedded in HTML using the MathPlayer plugin. I need to output to PDF. I have PDF components (Dynamic PDF, ABCpdf), but they don't know how to parse the MathML, of course.Is there a library that can help me translate the MathML to an image or something that I can feed to the PDF components on the fly in the web application?

Output The Date In The Correct Format?
I have a date that is entered into the database in dd/MM/yyyy format via a form.

It is then outputted on another page in a sort of calendar style, ie MMM and dd.

When this form is filled in in the UK, and the date is for example the 3rd April, everything is ok. However if filled out in the US, when outputted the date shows as 4th March.

So my question is how do I ensure, when outputting the date, it's read as dd/MM/yyyy and not MM/dd/yyyy ?

Is it a problem that should be addressed when the data is added, or when it is printed?

For reference:

When the date is added:

value="@DateTime.Now.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy")"

And when it is printed:

<h2>
<span class="month">@row.EntryDate.ToString("MMM")</span>
<span class="day">@row.EntryDate.ToString("dd")</span>
</h2>

SQL Server :: Convert Date Type In Query Output ?
In my database when anyone registers - By default the registration time is saved as UTC universal time zone.

But i want to display everything on the website in (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

I am using this SQL QUERY to display registration date:

SELECT TOP (5) Username, CustomerID, RegistrationDate = CONVERT(VARCHAR(12),RegistrationDate,107) FROM Customer ORDER BY RegistrationDate DESC

And, i am displaying it like this:

<asp:Label ID="nameLabeldate" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("RegistrationDate") %>' />

The problem is the output is getting displayed as : 10/20/2010 1:36:01 PM

I know RegistrationDate is datetime stamp that's why i am getting output in this format.

But i want to display RegistrationDate as: Oct 20, 2010 at 1:36pm -> according to (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) ORDER BY RegistrationDate in Desc (top most will be last registered user)

Web Forms :: Browser Output Doesn't Look Like Web Developer Output Using Nested Master Pages And Css Stylesheets
First off, suggest better ways if you want rather than patch up this code. I am just starting this project and it is first time I have tried to code a web site so anything you suggest is very much welcomed. I have spent the last 2 and 1/2 days trying to find workable answers to this but none I have found and tried seem to fit. If needed I can email screens shots or code. I am trying to construct a website that will have the same main theme throughout as far as the header, navbars sitemap, and footer go. Naturally the content will vary from page to page. I want to use a single master page and css stylesheet for this main theme and I will change the content format as needed per page because each page may vary somewhat.

However, about 15 of the pages will all use the same format for their content and this format will differ from the rest of the site but the format of the main theme will stay the same. So I am trying to create a nested master page to use to format the just the content area for all these pages while retaining the main theme for the header, etc.. I believe I should use a separate css file with the nested master page to handle the formatting of the content areas for these 15 pages. I have code that looks like it works when viewed in web developer but design view but does not work when viewd through a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox). So far I have the following done in web developer.

If it helps the code and screen shots follow. Master Page called "Parent.master". For all theme throughout site Nested Master Page called "Lab.master". For the 15 like pages Primary stylesheet file for main theme called "StylesheetNew.css" For site theme Secondary stylesheet file to syle the 15 like formatted pages. It is called Labmaster.css Labs.apsx file to use as first of the 15 like pages.
Finally screens shots from web developer and browser. Sorry try as I might I could not capture screenshots and put them into this post. The problem is that web developer shows all the area (many lines high) with gray background and with the XXX text that I want to allocate for content in the 15 pages. Yet all the browser show is one line of text o a white background followed by the footer. It looks like the LabStyleSheet works in Web Developer but not in a browser.

Forms Data Controls :: FormView Clearing Value Set In Page_load / Initialize A Date Field In The FormViewto Today's Date?
I have a page with a FormView on it. The page is strictly for adding records to a Table. I have the FormView bound to an EntityDataSource and everything works greate except for one thing.

I want to initialize a date field in the FormViewto today's date. So, in my page_load event I have:

if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
//Initialize SetupDate to today.
TextBox setupdate = (TextBox)fvJob.FindControl("txtSetupDate");
setupdate.Text = DateTime.Now.ToShortDateString();
}

The first time this page loads, the txtSetupDate field is initialized.

Although, and subsequent loads of the page doesn't initialize the Text Box. I step through the code in the debugger and I can see that the code is executig, but something (the FormView bind?) is "clearing" the Text Box.
