I want to use requiredFieldValidator when the textbox has no text and clicking inputbutton.
I want to do if I clicking button with no text in textbox, It comes requiredFieldValidator error message, no popup window.

i want to enter text in textbox by dropdown only when clicking on button.i want that all this perform at client side by javascript..this is dont in apsx page but i want it in .ascx this is following code that i used in aspx page and successfully run as i want:

I've recently finished building one of my first websites (and CMS) in ASP.NET but have came across a problem where a RequiredFieldValidator isn't working as it should do? I originally created the admin page to not require the RequiredFieldValidator, but now that I do need it the page won't acknowledge it's there. I have even set the field in the database to not accept nulls, but the query will still insert a null value into the database (SQL Server 2008 Express).
The TextBox that I'm referring to is "txtSectionTitle"

View 3 RepliesI have a RequiredFieldValidator with Display="Dynamic" on my ASP.NET WebForm. I have assigned it a class using the CssClass property. I want the error message to be displayed using display: block, so I have placed this on the css class in my style sheet.
Unfortunately, the validator places a display: inline on the element on the web page, effectivaly overriding my style sheet value.

I just realised why this doesn't work. When setting Display="Dynamic" on a validator, it has the effect that it sets style="display: none" on the span tag when rendering. The .net javascript library then switches the inline style of the element between "none" and "inline". That is simply how the dynamic validator works. So for this to display as a block element, I will need to modify how the client side event validation works.
I have a few form inputs on my page, each with separate buttons to sumbit them. I need to set the master form's default button client-side when clicking the relevant textbox. I have fond the following code:

When clicking on the textbox, I get "event is not defined" in firefox.

So it works fine i can hover on gridview rows. Now I need to add OnClick event. When Row is clicked I need to pass value from SQL server table to textbox. How can I Add something like onrowclickevent? where I can use clicked row arguments?
i want when user click on submit button then a div layer will be generated over the textbox whose height and width will be just the same as textbox and in this way textbox will be blocked for entering something. i want to do it by javascript. in this scenario other textbox will not be blocked.

When changing the textbox's text mode to multiline the textbox becomes resizable during runtime. I can't seem to find the property to disable this, does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

However, i can't set it focus in Rowdatabound. By the way, I make a simple .aspx page and just put a textbox on the tabcontainer tab panel. I found that i totally cannot set focus on this text box.
