Web Forms :: Link Button For Displaying File Attachment On Webpage?

I have a link button. When someone clicks the link button, i want to open a dialog box asking them to open/save a file.
The following code works:

Now my question is:
How do i delete the file that i just created in TemporaryFiles folder?
my try: i tried
File.Delete(fname) in the finally block of the try catch. But this does not even popup the dialogbox(open/Save) i dont know the reason. May be the file is getting deleted??

I developed an application form which includes some textboxes for input. When the user click on the button the following tasks has to be done.
1) If page is valid all data should be stored in database
2) A new webform should appear on the same window and the some content of the application form should be displayed in it.
3) When clicking on browser back button it should not post back to previous page.....
I did the first task..and i don't know the code for the remaining tasks. Here is some information

I opened new webform by using Response.Redirect ("submit.aspx"). Where submit.aspx is the form to be opened after data stored upon the button click in application form.

I need to change a standard HTML Input button to a Link button but am running into problems because the existing
code calls a javascript function. The function basically does the same as the browser back button. When I add the code and
set the property runat="server" I get a "CS1026: ) expected".
Quite new to ASP,net (VS2010) so could be going about this the wrong way.

I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I'm Binding the name of file to a LinkButton and intending to open that file on the LinkButton' click. I have the LinkButton in the TemplateField of a GridView control. I basically want to add some Labels and Textboxes to my aspx page every time someone clicks on my "Add Article" button. From what I have so far, it will not continuously add new Labels and Textboxes. It creates the new, but gets rid of the old. ie.First Add Article button click (Label1 and Textbox1 created and shown)Second Add Article Button click (Label2 and Textbox2 created and shown, BUT Label1 and Textbox1 is now deleted and no longer visible on the page).
Here is what I have so far:

Any idea what I am doing wrong? The UpdatePanel works... just not the code behind.

I'm working on an asp.net c# application that sends an email with one attachment.The attachment is a vCalendar file.
Here's the code:
StringBuilder sbCalendar = new StringBuilder();
DateTime dtStart = eventDate;
DateTime dtEnd = eventDate;[code].....
I want to get rid of that text, and display only the contents of my messageBody parameter and have the vCalendar file just attached to the mail message.How can i do this? Is this an outlook issue or a coding issue?
Edit: I'm only interested in displaying the message in Microsoft Outlook. I've looked into the source of the message (in Outlook right click > View Source) and the text i want to get rid of is within the <body></body> html tags of the message)

I am working on a financial portal and I am having a problem..I don;t know what to call it so i mentioned it as an 'unknown to me' problem..I have a webpage..whenever I click on any button on my webpage, the request goes through..but nothing show up on the webpage..then If I click on another link and then again come back to previous link,then only I see the results of button_click..
e.g.
I have a currency conversion and investment form..so after filling up the form in following way and if I click on "INVEST" then nothing shows up..
so now if i click on any other link and go back to 'buy currency' link I see the result as 'investment successful'

I'm usign the following funtion to download a file from griview link button.
This code works fine without the Update Panel in the form.
If i put grid inside the updatepanel, i can't download the file. shows System.WebForms Cannot parse file.

Here is my requirement -
1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.

In my gridview i am returning values from database in which 'filelocation' is containing location of pages over my server and i want to use coustom linkbutton in templete field to raise a event and set session variable and then redirect to that page .
My question is how to get value fron 'filelocation' coloum in gried view when a linkbutton in clicked and onclick is fired and also set session value at taht point.

I have a page which has about 50-60 labels in it, and the data is pulled from the database and displayed on the labels. I need to export this data to an excel sheet and Email it when I hit on an Email Button which is at the bottom of the same page 1.e below the table(which has labels displaying data). I Am able to export the data to an excel sheet but not understanding how to Email rightaway without saving or opening the excel sheet.

I can do the above by placing the relevant .jpg into the VWD project.
However, I would like to be able to to do this without adding the image file to the project.
e.g. In code, get the image from C:/images/NameOfImage.jpg
The reason I am trying to do this is the website will allow the user to upload as many images as they like. Each one's details will be stored in a database, including details of which location they have uploaded the image to. On retrieval, I will get the location of a specific image from the database, and display it on the page.

I have a byteArray which I can only convert into an Image (Drawing.Image) I was wondering how I can display it a webpage. I used memoryStream as I dont want to user to have to download the image. Eventually I will use this to display images in google maps.. I can convert it into a graphic but once again not sure what I will do with it.
