i want the page to be fixed in the middle of the screen,it should not be moved or dragged by any means,How can i disable that?
I wish to write a modal dialog box for my project, similar to this http://obout.com/editor_new/howto_sc.aspx.Which is very simple:When a user click on a button,the page will make a call to a web service and when it is done,a Movable Modal Dialog box will show and populated with my data, along with buttons and scripts for those buttons.It seems that the panel and popup extender can show the popup but it is not movable.Should I do it with AJAX tool kit or using pure Javascript, I see a few sample on the web, but it is kind OF complicated.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to return true or false from popup window to the parent window. Actually the parent window has a button control, which on click popup another window. The popup window holds some emailing data and a button "send". This "send" button onclick send email. Now I want to return true if the email is successfully sent otherwise false, to the parent window. Depending on returning value a label present on parent window displays a text message. But I am not able to implement it. Because it might happen that the popup window is blocked by web-browsers popup blocker or popup window is accidentally closed by user. So how can I confirm to parent window whether or not the email is successfully sent?

1) using Sessions("")
or
2)passing the variables as parameteres:

I don't know if it's appropiated passing 8 or 10 variables as the option2 because the user will see a very long url with all the variables, but maybe is more efficient than using Sessions.... Anyway, could somebody clear me up?
I am using a master page in my project. I opened a popup window from content page. What I want to do is, when I close the popup window, the data in the textbox available in popup should be assigned to a text box in parent form. I need to be able to flag ANY PartyId input field with class="PartyLookup" so that it will modify the DOM and include the image next to the input field. The popup window returns data to populate both the hidden and text fields, but since the click() is generic I need to pass it the ID of the input field.
I want to receive value from parent's control to popup window's code behind. for example

But I can't send very long string. (maybe the url length is limited, right? Is there any good way to solve?
we are running a click-to-call service, my idea is basically like this: website have a link on their page, when the link is clicked, a web page(say it is popup.aspx) hosted on our server is popup, user can input their phone number, and click "call me" button to let the website call him. In the button click event, I want to get Request.UrlReferrer, then query the db to get website's phone. I have a scenario where I have a popup window open and that will have links to open up another window that's going to pop open on top of the already open popup window. I've tried all sort of tricks (javascript window.open, target="_blank" etc.) but nothing seem to work. It always was opening the page on the already opened popup window.

i am writing an application, and i have a link on a page that opens its url in a new browser window. on this new window, i have an asp.net gridview with radio button on each row and each row has a staff_id, and staff_name column, and the gridview has datakeys as staff_id, staff_name.
my question is that i want to be able to select a row (using the radio button) and when user clicks a button on the new window, and i want to populate two textboxes on the parent window with the staff_id and staff_name values from the selected row(in the popup window), and if possible close the popup window.
I have a user control is shown through a SimpleModal popup (JQuery), this user control gets some data from database and displays them (the details of a record).
The problem is that this user control makes a round-trip to gets the data every PostBack for the parent page even it's hidden.
I wonder if I could make it gets its data only if the popup is appeared.
I tried to put it inside a Panel with false for Visible property and change it to true when I open the popup, but it stil call Page_Load which gets the data from database!
I can't use RegisterStartupScript('window.open...) because then Google Chrome silently blocks the popup window. I can't use javascript onclientclick in the markup, since I have to open the popup window after running some code in the button click event handler.
View 2 RepliesI've a webform that has a formview in insertmode that among others has a combobox with a datasource. The problem is that user needs to have a way to add new items to combobox directly rather than having to go to mainteinance webform that deals with the info related with the table that feeds combobox. So I thought that I should have an update panel and put the combobox in there together with a button to open a popup window to add the new record, close when done and update combobox with newly added item.
In theory that's what I want. What I require are examples of how to do that in the best way. I thought first of using javascript but how do I know when the popup window was closed? how to trigger update panel?
I have all of my code into one ASPX file. Called Scheduler.aspx. I am using the DayPilot scheduler and the Obout Flyout. But i moved it all to one page to make it simpler. But one thing I am having probelms with is; when I save my popup it should close and refresh the page. And when I hit the close link it should close (which it does) and then refresh the popup when I click on it to open again (which it doesnt). Since I have this all on one form and I am calling the popup using the flyout I can't figure out how to do these.

I have a program that gets data from an SQL database via some comboboxes. When the user has selected what they are looking for, I want to have a "preview" button which will generate the image (I've written this code already) and display it in a small, resized popup window.
A) I'm pretty new to this ASP, but know VB pretty well.
B) I have no idea how to make a new popup come up
C) How can I have the code written for the image generation point to that popup window? Also, I'm storing the image in memory. As this will have serveral users at once, it probably isn't a good idea to be saving this down. Here is the code for the file generation.

(There is no code in the aspx file, this is all in the codebehind file. Most of this isn't useful except for the end when I save the image as a stream - I'm trying to figure out how to link this stream to a new resized popup window.)
