how can i show message to client while server is running in loop?
like system that send mails ,i have like sleep between each of the item in the loop
and i want to show some details about the sending
i tried to do it like that:

View 1 RepliesI'm currently trying to build a html table from the results of a sql data reader. As my table has multiple records, I want the code to loop through the reader and output the details on individual lines of the page. In ASP I have done this in the past using something like

but as I am using data readers I'm not sure what the equivalent is.
I am trying to handle the unhandled exceptions in my project.I tried with this following code in my web.config filebut it is not at all redirecting to an error page which i have created instead of that it is throwing an exception in my code itselef. How to print the error description over therein my custom error page.

I have on a page a gridview that can be filtered with one text box. I set up the gridview to show select and wanted to then connect a details view so that when you selected a row the entire details would show up. When I run it I get this error. Data keys must be specified on GridView 'GridView1' before the selected data keys can be retrieved. Use the DataKeyNames property to specify data keys.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to get a record to show up in a details view as part of a Master Details. I was able to get this to work by setting the visibility to true for the Details View in the Page Load event. I now want the details view to show up when the Select button is clicked in the GridView's template field using the onClick event for the button. I don't seem to be assigning the correct properties to get this to work though. what property I should use with this? I know I have to get it from the GridView and assign it to the details but haven't gotten it to work. this is the GridView:

I have a vb.net page that has a editable detailsview. When a user wants to erase the data for a field, they highlight the data, and delete/backspace over it, and click update. However, the original data is still saved. If they are replacing the current data with new data, that works fine and updates/saves correctly. This problem only happens when the current data needs to be removed.

I would like to write a loop that sends an smtp message to a list of emails that I'm getting from a database.
I wrote a loop where I used message.to.add(recipient) first to add all the emails to the recipients collection.
However when the e-mail was received each recipient sees the entire list of recipients. How do I send to only
one recipient at a time, or prevent each recipient from seeing who all the other recipients are?
I'm thinking of using a modal pop up control that would have a details view in it. I currently have a details view that uses CSS Friendly control adapters with the CssSelectorClass attribute. Can I use the CSS friendly CssSelectorClass property with a details view in the modal pop up and style it as I'm currently doing with my Details View?

Some of the textboxes are binded to required field validators.there is a validation control on the page and ShowMessage box is True.If they dont complete some of the text boxes then the message box pops Up with the error message.It does not however include information errors like "User already exists" or Email address already existsfrom the create user wizard membership UserName and Password Textboxesis it possilbe to hook all of these up so I get one message box with all errors including membership ones?
View 3 RepliesBy default in login template, in case user key in the wrong user name or password, the literal message will show the default error message, "Your login attempt unsuccessful..."What i trying to do is, I have a function in my system to disapprove a member, after the member is disapproved, he/she will not allow to login anymore. When the user trying to login, the default literal msg will show out. Is there any way i can do it more specifically like if the user enter the wrong password only, the literal msg show: "Wrong password entered" insteaed of the default msg?
Same goes to the change password control, for any error msg it just show the long msg but does not tell user whats wrong with the entered valueim trying to do something like if the user enter the wrong password, the literal msg show the one i wan to show.
I have tried in many way but the error message for custom validator is not shown in validation summary but it(ValidationSummary) shows error message for every other type of validator.

trying to loop on the value of my labels.
i have several labels named label1, label2 etc....
my labels are filled with dates 10/10/2010, 10/11/2010, 10/12/2010 ....
the user enters a date in a textbox and i want all the labels that have a date > than the date enterd by the user to turn visible false.
i'm trying to make sure the user has filled in each form area, e.g., selected a radio button from each group of RadioButtonLists, filled in textarea, on a form. i could write:

but don't want to write it 20 times ;) how can i loop through the names of the RadioButtonList controls by name? i'm trying something like this but can't figure out in VB how to dynamically identify the control by ID, as the ctrl.Name property is not available (because i'm using .net 1.1 for this legacy app?)

I want to loop through all the users and get their Profile.FirstName and Profile.LastName to be the text on a dropdownbox control and the username for the dropdrownbox value. This way the users real name appears in the dropdownbox and when a user is selected I can use their username from the selectedvalue to do what ever it is I wish to do.
