I have a weird problem. I have a window, on a button click I open a modal popup (using ModelPopupExtender), that let's you select a few criteria and then click a submit button. On click of submit button, I open a new window (using window.open()) that shows the status of what happened to your submitted request. However, every time this status window is opened, it goes to the login page. I am thinking the modal popup can't pass the authentication cookie to the newly opened window, but I'm not sure.

I want to authenticate a user using model popup extender. So I wrote a program to do this. Everything OK when user enter the correct details. How can I do this?
In a page I want to show a list box which will show all the PDF within a folder. Also besides that I want to show an Iframe or anything for that matter, in which I can show the PDF file content. The things that I tried are
1. Setting the src property of the IFRAME to the file clicked in Listbox
Problem :- It does only work for small PDF's. If the size of the PDF is large then this thing does not work, even waiting for a longer time PDF does not opens up
but with this approach the page is opened in the page & the Listbox for selecting the PDF file is not visible again.
So I did tried creating another page & setting the IFRAME src with the new page in which I can open up the file & again pass the control back to the first page. But somehow I am not able to do that.
We have an application that displays files in a network directory path and wondered if there is a way to open Windows Explorer (or something similar to show/open files or subfolders) from the browser and have it display the files and folders in that path.

I have a page that opens up displaying information based on a querystring. What I would like to do when this page opens is open another page. After x seconds, I want to close the original page. So, what I have done is the following
1) used Page_load page event to display the info based on a query string (no issues)
The problem I have is that when the original window closes, it calls the function (point 2)) to open the secondary window again. I was just wondering how I can stop this from happening (basically the second page is opened twice).
I'm using modal popup extender and panel with calendar in it. Click the "Next / Previous Month" closes the modal popup. How do I tell the modal popup to ignore click events in a calendar control inside the panel targeted for popup? I'm confused because when using extender before, you had to click OkButton or Cancel to close popup. I have update panel for reason. I just minimized the code for easy review.
any modal popup controls whereas I can interact with the controls, causing callbacks and asynchronous calls without losing the popup.
I tried with the modalpopupextender, but the popup will disappear with the call and re-rendering the popup like many people will cause massive flashes of the popup which i want to try and avoid.
I have one page with a panel that makes up my ModalPopup. On the ModalPopup there is an updatepanel with a textbox and a button in it. There is a textbox on the "parent" page and I want to click the button on the modalpopup and move the data from the popup textbox to the parent textbox. So far, no joy. I have a line in the code behind to move the data between textboxes and I have also tried javascript to do the same thing but I am not able to make this happen unless i click the button twice.
I'm working on a piece of code at the moment that allows the user to enter values into fields. Once the user clicks on the 'save' button I am checking those fields against certain conditions (essentially calling a bunch of stored procedures to assess the values). If any of these 'rules' are met, I need to generate a popup that informs the user that certain values need to be fixed before they can continue for some of the conditions, and for others just to inform them of what conditions may need their attention.
The main thing I need help with is, how do I generate a popup box in my codebehind if the conditions are met?
I wish to write a modal dialog box for my project, similar to this http://obout.com/editor_new/howto_sc.aspx.Which is very simple:When a user click on a button, the page will make a call to a web service and when it is done,a Movable Modal Dialog box will show and populated with my data, along with buttons and scripts for those buttons. It seems that the panel and popup extender can show the popup but it is not movable.Should I do it with AJAX tool kit or using pure Javascript, I see a few sample on the web, but it is kind OF complicated.
I need to open a new window or page keeping the existing page open. I plan to put a Button on the existing page and when a user click the button, a new page or window pops up with what I have coded for that page. My preference would be that the user don't have to tweek any browser options or configure anhing else to open the new window with the click.
