I have two Drop Down Lists (DDL), DDL1 & DDL2 respectively. DDL1 gets populated with "State" from a backend database where as DD2 gets populated with TWO fields "LATA" & "LATA Name" concatenated together. Here are the codes for the DDL2 :
[Code]....
The code behind the Submit button is using Querystring and directing to the next page:
Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Response.Redirect(String.Format("Option1_result.aspx?ddl2={0}& ddl3={1}", HttpUtility.UrlEncode(DropDownList2.SelectedValue),
HttpUtility.UrlEncode(DropDownList3.SelectedValue)))
End Sub
My problem is: How to retrieve data from a Querystring which contains data from two concatenated SQL columns? I want to selectively retrieve only the first three digits in the ddl2 Querystring which will give me the LATA number.

In the following code, I need to modify the Handler so that the records or results that display are based on a QueryString value. Currently all of the records in the table display on the page but I want records to display based on the passing a querystring value based on the field, id. I have tried to alter the code without much success.
Public Class FileVB : Implements IHttpHandler
Public Sub ProcessRequest(ByVal context As HttpContext) Implements IHttpHandler.ProcessRequest
Dim id As Integer = Integer.Parse(context.Request.QueryString("id"))
Dim bytes As Byte()
Dim contentType As String
Dim strConnString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("fitnesConnectionString").ConnectionString
Dim name As String
Using con As New SqlConnection(strConnString)
Using cmd As New SqlCommand()
[CODE]..

<asp:XmlDataSource ID="dsNewsitem" DataFile="~/App_Data/news.xml" runat="server" XPath='/news/item[id = "<%# Request.QueryString("id") %>"]' />

How can I add values to querystring?
I'm trying to do this:
String currurl = HttpContext.Current.Request.RawUrl;
var querystring = HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString.ToString();
var PrintURL = currurl + (String.IsNullOrEmpty(querystring)) ?
HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString.Add("print", "y") : string.Empty;
But I keep getting this error:
Cannot implicitly convert type 'string' to 'bool'
all i'm trying to do is get current url and add ?pring=y to querystring

I have the following code which creates a treeview of a folder and files on my PC. The front-end code is the following:
[Code]....
I have following in the code-behind file:
[Code]....
The result is a web page that allows me to navigate down to individual music files within various folders. Beside each music file is a checkbox.What I want to do is select several files and then click a button that will move the selected files from their existing location to another location. I'm running into two problems. One, whenever I add any control that performs a postback, the treeview doesn't repopulate. Two, I don't know how to retreive the values of the checked checkboxes.

We do have a search page for customers which returns a list of data from a table.
Once we select on an item it should redirect to another page with customerId as a querystring parameter..
Now the problem is we have to save all the customerIds and need to send them to display page..and need to select next one once they done with previous one without going to the search page again..
Example:
if they got 10 customers in the search page then we need to send all 10 ids to display page by starting display of firstone and once they select next button on display page they have to move on to the next cutomer from that list..if they reached the end of list they have to start again from the first...we need to avoid the user going to the search page for each customer every time...

I need to pass '+' via the QueryString.
some special character can be passed by using 'Encode' .. but '+'
I know the one solution, If I replace '+' with other character.
But it's not the perfect solution.

I'm trying to take a querystring in string format and get the data out, like what would have been done with request.querystring("thefield")
I am submitting a form using ajax with this syntax:
var str = $("form").serialize();
$.post(url.....
So the serialized data posts to the controller fine, but I can't figure out how to deserialize the str value on the c# side. Guessing there is a better answer than writing a custom routine.

Is there a command to retrieve the whole string after the question mark (?) in a URL?
For instance, if I have www.joesmith.com/Test.aspx?price=10.00&name=bob&zip=38924, I want to be able to get the part of the string that says, price=10.00&name=bob&zip=38924

I have a .txt file named: myTextFile.txt on my hostingaccount that contains this string: "Hello"
Now my hostingprovider says this: "Any file that you can access via your domain can be accessed through a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection as well."
When I type this manually in the address field, my browser will show the string: "Hello" in the top left corner: [URL]
My question now is if it is possible programatically to write this address down in the browser and retreive this string using this Secure Socket Layer (SSL). (https://) ?
The thing is that I will implement this in a C# winform application so I will try to ask this question here as the logic hopefully could be the same.
