I am trying to style the menu control to allow the menu items to float to the right of the container, however I am unable to do so as whenever I am styling the a, ul or li it keeps getting overidded by asp.net and floats everything left.
What I want is to show menu items Administrator or show user menu items.Show menu items using login...How I can do it with role provider, control menu and siteMap in masterpage?
I'm using asp.net and css to style a master page with navigation at the top. I was hoping to add the login status control in as a menu item but it is not allowed. Can someone point me in the right direction? When I post my code on this forum do I have to include tags?
I need a help in creating a vertical oriented Menu control with dynamic url's set in there Navigate Url property. Also i need to set the menu items as enable/disable in two different modes say edit/new.

I have worked out how to hide the whole menu when the user is not logged in
How can I hide some items in my menu if you are just a user & only appears if you log in as administrator? I would like to hide the siteadmin. Below is the code:
have multiple menu items in an asp.menu. Each menu item has submenus. When a user selects a submenu the background color changes but I need the background color of the indivdual header menu item to change as well.
I am trying to create a menu list with the sub items by reading a xml file. I can create ul and li tag in code behind by reading the xml file elements and loop through it and create a html string but, I want to is there any other best way to do this?
how can i fix my menu that is not showing a dynamic items... it only says "Expand ****"... suddenly that problem showed up... and also a skip navigation link showed too..
I have trying to create spacing between items in my menu control and I have been totally unable to create any item spacing. I have tried every property with the word spacing and still I am unable to space my menu items.
my menu control is bound to a sitemap. I would like to be able to customize the second level of the menu (the dynamic level), so that I can insert an item image, link and text. An example is the top menu in [URL]
Is it possible to achieve using asp.net menu and sitemap ? maybe using the dynamic item template of the menu ?
I'm trying to style my menu and menu items so it looks like a tabbed menu. I've seen really nice css code examples which I want to use in my master pages. Problem is, when you click @ a menu item, the active menu item should have a other css class than the other ones in order to style them. How can I do this? Is there a tabmenu available which is easy to style and detects when a menu item is clicked?
Is there a way to add/delete/update the default classes (for instance AspNet-Menu-WithChildren,AspNet-Menu-NonLink ) of the html generated by the asp.net menu or treeview control? I am using CSSAdapters so the menu control renders in a list format instead of table format.
We have to develop an application which has a Vertical left pane menu control which displays all the web pages (A,B,C say). Now if user is in page A and filled some data and clicks on menu control to go to page B, all the data in page A needs to be saved. Also if all the required field in page A are not filled and user navigated to page B, there will be one ! sign after the menu so that user can understand that there some some more fields need to be filled up.
We are planning to place the menu control in the Mater page. Please give me some direction to do this. My question is:
1. If user change menu (In Master Page), how should we save data?
2. How should we display the ! in the menu control?
Is there any way to load [main] menu items in run-time? for instance using WebServices? My web application's main menu is so big and takes a long time to be loaded. So that, i want to load its items on demand. I want to load the sub-items of the menu item user is hovering.
i am just trying to make a menu "manually" by defining menu items, i am also using css adapter for easy styling. I am facing a problem on postback, i am not getting the selected item (there is no item with class AspNet-Menu-Selected), even without css adapter i think. My menu is simple, there is master page, a couple of pages, the menu is on master page. why, and how can i solve this.
I have for example a ASP Menu control having a static (File) and dynamic (Open, New) menu such as :
[code]....
I am able to see this menu under VS 2008 under my development PC. But when I deploy the app to a IIS server, and run the app, the whole app appeared the same. Only the Menu has "File" for selection but the submenu items (Open and New) did not appear when the mouse cursor was moved over "File". Only the Outline of the dropdown box of the submenu appeared.
