View 2 Repliesi am going to develop an EHR (Electronic Health Record System) i am new to this field and want to discuss what tool technology i have to use for this purpose:
here is my research about EHR and available tools for it
1) i am going to discuss about java as an EHR is a web based system so J2EE will be the solution for java at core level and as i am going to globalize my system so i need some standard protocol for it the most useful and one is HL7 CDA 2.0 one thing about java i like is it provides JAVA CAPS with full implementation of HL7 protocol. it make my work bit easy the second thing about java is it is very efficient for DATA CENTERED application as mine one is but the problem is with the scalability of system that is much expensive and time taking. and java is bit slower on client side that can effect downtime that should me very less approaching to zero for my system. and at last i need a attractive user interface. and the most wanted thing is privacy and security.
2) the other option is PHP for doing all as above described it is less expensive and less time taking for scalability,may contribute to achieve a good interface and a faster client side but question mark on data centric environment and security.
3) the last one is the MS's ASP.NET no doubt about security and privacy but very much expensive to develop and maintain and no platform independence and what about speed that is response and down times?
i have discussed the possibilities upto my best knowledge hope u people advise me which one will be the best to attain privacy, security, speed and scalability on best cost.

Having used Visual Studio Team Edition 2005, unit testing each method within VS itself. I strongly believe that it is feasible to add-on tools. Example ankhsvn tool to use SVN from Visual studio [URL]
In my investigating i have come across number of tools(shown below) to use with Visual Studio 2008 professional
Development tool:- Visual Studio 2008 professional using Subversion as source control tool. Continuous Integration:- Hudson or Cruise control Build tool:- NAnt Testing:- NUnit, Selinium As Visual Studio 2008 can be used for unit testing I think NUnit is out of consideration.
In the same way i would like to have any other tools/add-ons to Visual studio to implement continuous integration, building and unit testing. This process should be automated such a way source code between team members is continuously integrated, built and unit testing is done as configured.
Objective is to use few number of tools as add-on to Visual Studio or achieve most from Visual studio itself (example unit testing). Visual Studio should be all in one tool.
I am aware that Team Foundation Server best suits my requirement, but it is out of scope due to its cost.
Problem Description: A person has to enter all his details and take a photo(While Taking his Snap in our website there will be a Image Component and we have to Initilize the Client System(Any Company Webcam)Webcam and below Image Component there will be a button(Take Snap) When he clicks on it , it should take his snap store it. After He fills all his details when he clicks on Save button, all the details along with that image should be Uploaded to the server.
1) How to Check Whether the Client has Installed any Webcam or Not First.
2) If the Client has Installed any Webcam then Initialize that Webcam When he clicks on Take Picture.
3) Stream that Video that is coming from that Webcam Inside our Image Control in Website.
4) After He Clicks on Save Image button that streaming should stop and still image should be saved.
5) Accessing that Image(Later Converting it to Byte Stream) and uploading Image along with his data to Sql Server.
I want to post few videos on a website but i don't want to use youtube or any other website.
I want to have an in-build player on the webpage with video in it - how to accoplish that ?
Currently, I am storing images and video clips in my database as a varbinary(max).
The problem is that when my front-end goes to retrieve and play the video, it takes an excessive amount of time to download.
For example, I have a video file: test.avi (5mb). If I attempt to read from database and play avi, it takes about 40 seconds. If I attempt to play this test.avi from the filesystem, it takes about 10 seconds to load.
I have investigated compression/decompression, but those seem to be as time-consuming as just loading up the raw data from the database.
Should I scrap storing video clips in the database, and go for a file system approach. I would really like to keep everything clean, secure, and organized. Which is why I am storing images, video clips, etc. in database.
Now i'm currently trying to code a basic website as a project and i've run into problems regarding a search video function. having searched through the forum i still could not find a solution.What i intend to do is to have a video search web service in my website, perhaps something like this:http://www.google.com/uds/solutions/...rch/index.html. however from my limited understanding the codes provided is unable to work with VS2005? The website uses a master page into which we've built some functionality like a menu and an alert banner controlled by the adRotator control. In the forum, I've mimicked the header using html, but everytime we make a change to the master page I have to also update the code in the forum. I can't add the alert banner to the forum at all. We're using a third party menu, but I want to build one using the navigation controls. If i do, what do I do about the forum?
Fow a number of reasons, I'm rewriting the entire site in 4.0. So if there's anything that can be done to better integrate the forum, now would be a good time I guess to try.
There's very little I can do about the code in the forum. It isn't open source. Is there any way at all of wrapping the forum in the master page or a modified master page?
