Line 44, Column 69: there is no attribute "AlternateText" You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.
How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash. I can't figure this out.

I am using a DataList to display records from SQL backend in ASP.net 2.0 Framework 3.5. In the ItemDataBound I am setting up a Hyperlink's URL and enabling/disabling it based on data.
The HTML is as follows:-
[Code]....
and in the vb code:-
[Code]....
This is all working correctly in IE, but in Opera, FireFox and Safari while the Hyperlink works, the control is not disabled if Stk.Docs = 0.

I'm working on an ASP.NET webforms app that will serve as a simple intake form to create work items in TFS 2010.The app works correctly when I run it locally in debug mode--the submission completes and the work item is created.
When I publish the form to our dev server, it yellow screens and throws the following error:
[SecurityException: TF50309: The
following account does not have
sufficient permissions to complete the
operation: DOMAINNAMESERVERNAME$. The
following permissions are needed to
perform this operation: View
collection-level information.]
In my code, I'm attempting to access TFS using a service account, and from what I can tell the service account is being used correctly when I run in debug mode.Here's what my C# looks like:
string tfsServerUrl = "http://servername:8080/tfs";
string tfsProject = "Web Team Projects"; [code]....
If I set a breakpoint at the tfs.Authenticate() line, the server object shows the service account name as the current user and IsAuthenticated = true.
The line in the exception that mentions SERVERNAME$ is what's stumping me. It's seems like IIS is deciding to try to access TFS with the app pool identity instead of the credentials that I'm explicitly supplying.Our dev server is a Server 2008 box running IIS 7.

To me this should be much easier, but I can't seem to retain the values that are put in the Insert template upon a validation failure or when the sql fails. This will prevent the user from having to retype everything agin in the event of a failure.
As you can see I am using the Sub Insert_Click and not using an insert through the wizard. so the fields are unbound textboxes on the form. There are 2 dropdowns that provide choices for the other fields.
I pasted in the code using the text only option becuase the format was getting messed up. I probably need more background on why the fields are blanking out.

The generated hyperlinks in the following code don't work:
<marquee onmouseover="this.stop()" onmouseout="this.start()">
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater2" runat="server" DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource2">
<ItemTemplate>
<img src="images/news-icon.jpg" width="14" height="16"
/> <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server"
Text='<%# Eval("Subject") %>' ></asp:HyperLink>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
</marquee>
<asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSource2" runat="server"
SelectMethod="GetFlashNewsTrue" TypeName="NewsServies">
</asp:ObjectDataSource>
What's the likely reason for this and how can I debug or fix it?

I've been trying to add a Hyperlink column to my gridview that opens a page via a pop-up window that passes an ID. Target="_blank" won't work because I need it to be a specific size.
I've been trying to set it up with Javascript functions but DataNavigateURLFormatString takes away the clickablility on the field if you call javascript. NavigateURL seems to work but without an ID passing to the function it will only open one specific webpage.I have also tried Boundfields but have had no success either.This is the closest I have come to getting it to work:
<asp:HyperLinkField
DataTextField="Catalog_Number"
HeaderText="Catalog Number" [code].....
But with the NavigateURL its only displaying the link as is.

We have a system in production, part of which is now failing. The failing part worked as follows:A user would upload a document, the type could be word, excel (1997 - 2007 format) or pdf. Then they would create an email in our application. The email would have a link to an aspx page which when visited, would parse the query string to find the readers
information in the database, update a record to indicate that they clicked the link to read the document, then do a response.redirect to the document.

I'm currently integrating a web application into a customers network. The application has been successfully used many times.But here we've got the following problem:If the login page is requested just by the hostname everything works fine, but if the FQDN is used the login page just reloads withous doing anything. There's no error displayed.http://hostname:port/Login.aspx => fine
http://hostname.intern.customer.domain.foo.com => doesn't work, no error
(The FQDN is quite long)
The login page is very simple:
<asp:Login ID="loginCtrl" runat="server">
<LabelStyle HorizontalAlign="Left" />
</asp:Login>
Codebehind:
protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e)
{
if (!this.IsPostBack)

I have a ListView in which I have to hide certain LayoutTemplate elements when an Edit button is clicked. Naturally, the display goes from the ItemTemplate into the EdititemTemplate, which is accomplished in the following code. However, a problem arises when the EditItemTemplate is updated then displays the ItemTemplate: the elements from the LayoutTemplate which are initially hidden fail to re-display when the ItemTemplate is activated again.

In my asp.net webforms application I am using plain and simple forms authentication hooked up into my database (with the standard membership provider). Everything works well, I can log in , log out, get roles, etc...However, after deploying my site to the intranet IIS server I noticed that IE cannot be authenticated. The actual authentication process for logging in works (as it does tell you when your password/username is wrong) but after authentication completes it claims you aren't logged in.
This is only on my deployed IIS environment as locally while in my VS environment everything works just fine in IE. While in the deployed IIS chrome and Firefox work just fine.The only thing I can tell is it looks like IE isn't getting or saving the authentication cookie. This is not IE setting related as I have my IE8 set to accept all cookies, and I tested on a coworker's IE8 machine and another's IE7 with the same results. My web.config is using the following settings:
<authentication mode="Forms" >
<forms cookieless="UseCookies" />
</authentication>
where I would look to begin debugging this issue?
Edit: I have been forced to fix this issue now, since my webserver is not working well with URL authentication.I have used fiddler and figured out that IIS7 is not sending any cookies to me when I am in IE. No cookies are in the headers. The cookies are correctly in the headers when serving the site to Mozilla and Chrome browsers though. I am at a loss as to why.....
Edit2: As a side note, when I log into the web server directly, if I go to Http://localhost/ IIS sends IE the cookies fine, but if I go to http://qa_build/ (that's the computer name for the server) IIS won't send the cookies to IE.

I have a couple of textboxes (actually a set of pairs of textboxes) where users can either enter a value or a percentage of a value but cannot use both. So in any given time some of these textboxes are disabled depending on which option the user chose.
For the textboxes representing percentages, there is a range validator to make sure only values from 0 to 100 are entered. If user selectes to enter datanot in percentage form, the percentage textbox gets filled automatically based on the value user enters. So if the total is something like 8 and user enters 2, the corresponding percentage textbox gets filled with 25% (minus the % sign).
However, the vaidation fails as if there is nothing there, persumably because the textbox is disabled. How do I get around this?

I'm having a problem when trying to add a new row to a grid view when the grid view paging is "2" for example. Basically, when the data I'm trying to add will be on page number two of the grid, the drop down list I'm trying to bind raises an exception saying that the index is out of range.
How can I add a new grid row with paging and how to tell the drop down list that the row it is looking for is no longer 11, but 1 on the second page?

I have an application (asp.net 3.5) that uses a fileUpload control. I have the entry in web.config set to:
<httpRuntime executionTimeout="3600" maxRequestLength="2097151/>
If I try a large file upload (around 20M), I get the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. This code worked on another server and works locally, but when put on a new web host's server, I am getting this error all of a sudden. Is there any way I can get more information as to the cause of the error? I set my browser to uncheck "Show friendly http error messages", but I don't get more information.

I'm writing a small web application in c# and i'm running into a small problem.
Basically, on page_load() my backend MySQL db is queried to bring back the user data, and that is then inserted into the textbox controls as below:
[Code]....
Now the problem occurs when the RequiredFieldValidator kicks in. In my form processing function, I call Page.IsValid(), it fails and displays the required message next to the required fields.
I was wondering if there is a workaround for this, or a better way to go about what i'm trying to do.
