I am using SharePoint Server 2007 + C# + .Net 3.5 + VSTS 2008 + ASP.Net. And I am using collaboration portal template.
I am developing a custom aspx page and put it in _layout folder of a site and I want to apply default.master of the SharePoint site to this aspx page. Any samples about how to achieve this goal?
i have created a custom aspx page whithin my sharepoint site with a sql server connection to a database on that server to select data when i view the page it works but when another user tries to view it it gives the following error :Server Error in '/' Application. Login failed for user 'GRINCORGuguK'.Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'GRINCORGuguK'.Source Error: The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:
<%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>
or:2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario. tack Trace:
[SqlException (0x80131904): Login failed for user 'GRINCORGuguK'.] System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) +248 System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) +245
I have developed a web site by using ASP.Net 2.0 and i have used Ajax tools and flash obects in it.And it has only buttons saying go to that page.aspx..Ihavent used any variable, i havent used any service.Do i have to use garbage collector for performance?Because i sometimes have to restart my servicess from application pool.If i must use garbage collector? how to use them for my Ajax button objects and flash swf objects?
I am using spgridview to show the files and folders of document library in an aspx page. Now i want to display the files and folders along with icons in spgridview.
it is possible to do a request for another page on internet from page_load? I mean if it is possible to aquire markup code with informations from another page and display them on my aspx site? For example something like this:
I am working in coordination with the pHp developer, he is sending me some username, key at my aspx page and on that basis i am checking the authenticity from the DB, if authentic user then i'll do response.write("YES"), if not then i'll do response.write("NO"). The PHP developer saying that he will read my response.write and on that basis he will allow the user to get logged in to his PHP site. i want to know how will he read My response.write from ASPX page. He was saying he will read it, and will put it in session, i am very confused how will he read my response.write.
I have a preexisting asp.net site that uses forms authentication. I am setting up a Sharepoint 2007 site on the same box. I would like to use my existing asp.net site authentication and once logged in provide a link to the sharepoint site that has the user auto-logged in.It doesn't matter to me if Windows or Forms auth is used. I tried a couple different things to pass credentials through the response, but was unable to obtain success. Has anyone done anything similar. The tutorials for configuring forms auth on sharepoint just seem over the top and quite unreasonable.
Suppose I created a custom web application that consists of: several assembly DLLs: web app, business logic, data services multiple aspx pages and ascx custom controls that use them custom configuration section custom HTTP module. More or less the usual stuff. I would like to deploy it to a particular sharepoint site under a certain subfolder. So if I access my sharepoint site via [URL] (because I'm not using sites/some_site) I'd like my application to be available under [URL]
I could manually add a virtual folder (not application because I would need to access some Sharepoint site's data) to my sharepoint site in IIS and manually edit site's web.config file to register my HTTP module and add my custom configuration section as well either putting my DLLs into GAC or put them in the _app_bin (so I don't have problems with CAS), but I don't think that's a good thing to do, because this web application may get deployed in an environment where this shouldn't/couldn't be possible. So I figured I could build a WSP using Visual Studio 2010 and deploy it that way. But I don't have enough experience doing that.
I created a new sharepoint 2010 project. Is there a way I could add all non-executable application files (aspx, ascx) at once? I've seen the advanced tab of the WSP package where I can add my DLLs either to bin folder or GAC. I don't know whether I would also have to add any safe control and register certain classes? So I suppose I need some pretty detailed and explanatory guidance here.
So I've created an asp.net web application on the same server the sharepoint site is located on. If I create an Access view of a list on the sharepoint site, which will then create an Access Database, can I then use that Access database in an access data source in my web application?
If not, what's the best method of attack to access sharepoint list data from thisasp.net app?
I've built a new sharepoint site page using the example I found here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2010/06/28/creating-a-sharepoint-site-page-with-code-behind-using-visual-studio-2010.aspx.The purpose of the page is to add a new user to the aspnet membership database that serves as the authentication provider for my sharepoint site, which uses forms based authentication.I've slightly customized the asp createuser control. The sharepoint site is forms based but the top level site is accessible anonymously, and I've created a subsite for members (hence the user registration page). The site page is in the top level site so that people can register. If I'm already logged in and fill out the form, the user is successfully added to the membership store, however if I access the page anonymously and fill out the form, the user is successfully added to the membership database, but I can no longer navigate the website,I keep getting http 500 page cannot be displayed errors until I clear the browser cache and cookies.
Using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I was used to creating a web app anytime and I would get a default page for starters and be happy. But today I find that when I pick either the ASP.NET Web Site or ASP.NET Web Application templates I get site.master and a bunch of site admin files that I don't want. Alternately when I select the empty versions of those templates, I get almost nothing at all. An almost empty web.config page and no Default.aspx page. There is nothing magical about having a default.aspx page in place, but it is an indicator of a change when I can only get a virtually completely empty website or a website with a bunch of bells and whistles I don't want.
Also, for some reason, when I create a new app or website as just noted, in the Solution Explorer I get aspx.designer.cs files showing as well as web.config files for both debug and release. Somehow some settings and templates must have changed, or am I missing something here? How can I get my settings/templates to go back to the way they were?
I read web page developed using MVC framework don't do postbacks. I created a controller, one model class and view. View page contains textboxes and button. When I cliked on button, page is still causing the postback. What is the reason behind this postback?
Is it possible to share the claims based authentication of a logged in Sharepoint 2010 user with a separate Asp.net application?
The following article describes how it was done using Sharepoint 2007 and forms authentication through forms auth and sharing machine keys etc however I cannot find any information regarding the external application consuming the claims authentication that is now used in Sharepoint 2010?
I made an aspx site with .net 4.0 framework through visual studio and it worked perfectly in the development environment but when I upload it to the server and try to run it I get this error: Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
We have a requirement from a client for porting an ASPX website to sharepoint :
Though the site is being served in ASPX there are no form submissions so effectively, they are just static pages without any server side processing required.
However, there is a common header and footer being used.
Here are some of the features being used in the existing site :
sifr for font substitution (using non standard web fonts) flash animations javascript and some jquery common header and footer for all pages
My question is how feasible is it to port this website to sharepoint ? Can i use sifr (or flash for that instance) in sharepoint ? or do i have to port it to silverlight ?
What is the general procedure for converting web applications to sharepoint ? Also i came across this [URL] for migration of website to sharepoint.
Can javascript be used in sharepoint ? How can i have common header and footer in sharepoint documents ?
I used to deploy developed web parts to a remote sharepoint site by Build->Deploy menu inside Visual Studio 2008 months ago ( I am not a regular web part developer). My network engineer also asked me how to deploy web parts without stsadm commands. anyway now I can't. Visual Studio keeps complaining that the specified site doesn't have sharepoint site contained. "No SharePoint Site exists at the specified URL."
After googling, it is said web parts can't be deployed to remote sharepoint sites from visual studio. Only can to local site. However I did it before. Visual Studio 2008 service pack or hot fix made this feature (remote deploy) removed? Or is there any workaround?
We have a link in our site that pin points to sharepoint documents and we are retreiving some documents files (*.doc). Our sharepoint uses IWA (integrated windows authentication) which is prompted if we're trying to access that documents, unfortunately we don't want to prompt that window to authenticate the user. We need is to create a username and password and authenticate it. how can we do that.
Note* we have 2 server one for our application and the other one is for sharepoint.
As noted by some developers, workflow versioning is somekind of headache in SharePoint.
I`m wondering is there a way I can version my aspx forms? For sure, i can version code behind assemblies, but if markup changes for any of my files in LAYOUTS folder? Is there versioning available for files or do i have to choose new filename for my form?
I should have been more specific. Yes, i have files under version control (i can restore previous versions etc), but i`m not talking about this kind of version control. But by deploying new Workflow Version, i must not delete old one, because it is still running on many items in SharePoint, but rather , as noted in previous links, deploy new one so i don't break execution of workflows.
But workflows will still break if i don't preserve old aspx forms used by users to interact with workflows.
So i must ensure that Assemblies with old version numbers used by old workflow exists (this one is ok, i just changed assembly version number and deployed to GAC)I must ensure that old workflow still uses old aspx form used users to interact with workflow, but new workflow version should use new aspx form with more options (how to do this?).
I'm working on a SharePoint portal site, while user should be redirected to it from SAP Portal, both of the two portal, user is going to be authenticated through Active Directory. So is there a way to have a single sign on for both of them, so user login to SAP portal and then be redirected to sharepoint portal without providing his login credentials again?
